Welcome to a magical journey through the Azores, where lush nature and unique adventures await! Join us on a week-long expedition on São Miguel Island, where we will explore volcanic landscapes, swim in crystal-clear lakes, and immerse ourselves in the rich culture of this enchanting place.
Day 1: Arrival on São Miguel 00:00:01
Our adventure begins with landing at Ponta Delgada Airport. After settling into the cozy CFS Azores Guest House, we'll savour a delicious dinner at Ta Gente and explore the historic streets of Ponta Delgada, with its colourful buildings and cobblestone roads.
Day 2: Touring Ponta Delgada and a Catamaran Excursion 00:00:33
We start the day with a leisurely stroll through Ponta Delgada, followed by an exciting adventure aboard the Sea Watch Dolphins and Whales catamaran, where we'll observe dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. The evening concludes with dinner at a restaurant in the harbor and a visit with tastings at Plantação de Ananás dos Açores: Boa Fruta.
Day 3: Soaking in Thermal Waters at Parque Terra Nostra 00:04:16
A relaxing day awaits us at Parque Terra Nostra, where we'll enjoy baths in the thermal pool rich in iron. Lunch will be at Já se Sabe, followed by exploration of Caldeiras das Furnas, Furnas Lake (the third-largest lake on the island), and Caldeiras da Lagoa das Furnas, where Cozido is cooked. We'll then head to Vila Franca do Campo, with a visit to Agua d’Alto Beach, Miradouro Ermida Na Sra da Paz with a view of Ilhéu da Vila Franca do Campo.
Day 4: Scenic Overlook and Cultural Experiences 00:11:22
We'll start the day with a visit to Miradouro de Santa Iria, followed by a visit to the Gorreana Tea Factory, Miradouro do Salto da Farinha, Parque da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes, Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, Miradouro do Salto do Cavalo, and Miradouro do Pico do Ferro, which offers views of the volcanic crater of Furnas Lake. Dinner will be at Tony’s.
Day 5: Thermal Baths and Natural Beauty 00:16:42
We'll visit the Caldeira Velha thermal baths and take a dip under the Salto do Cabrito waterfall. Lunch will be at Tuka Tula on Santa Barbara Beach, followed by relaxation by the hotel pool.
Day 6: Breathtaking Views and a Cascading Hike 00:18:42
We'll explore Miradouro do Pisão, Miradouro da Ponta da Galera, and embark on a hiking adventure at Quatro Fábrica da Luz, with a refreshing dip in a waterfall. Lunch will be at Bar Caloura, followed by a dip in the Atlantic Ocean and dinner once again at Tuka Tula.
Day 7: Exploring São Miguel's Unique Sights 00:20:52
Our final day includes a visit to the Arruda plantation, Miradouro do Carvão, Lagoa do Canário, Miradouro da Grota do Inferno, Miradouro da Vista do Rei (with a view of Sete Cidades Lake, the largest on the island), and the abandoned 5⭐️ hotel. We'll also explore Miradouro do Cerrado das Freiras, Miradouro da Lagoa de Santiago, walk on the dos Regos bridge separating Green Lake from Blue Lake, visit the town of Sete Cidades, and explore the São Nicolau Church. The day will conclude with a visit to Miradouro da Ponta do Escalvado and Ponta da Ferraria (where you can take a dip in natural pools with warm/cold thermal water depending on the tide, relax on the volcanic rock beach, and enjoy a thermal complex around two volcanic thermal springs). You can't leave without trying pineapple ice cream from Santo Antonio plantation. We'll then check into the Verde Mare hotel, enjoy a swim in the outdoor/indoor pool, sauna, and dinner at the hotel's restaurant.

Hi, this was recorded in June. Weather was not too friendly but you can find stuff to do regardless, until the sky clears in the areas of your desired attractions so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yes, you can’t really see the island without one, most of the time, in our experience, somewhere on the island was raining so we had to go somewhere else if that happened to be where we were. You might have an option for a bus but I wouldn’t go for that route since you don’t have a lot of flexibility which is crucial for a successful trip in the Azores.
