I wish as women we weren’t taught to be “nice” because it’s literally for the benefit of other people. We need to protect ourselves and nice is not a prerequisite. It’s okay to be guarded, cautious and not-friendly, ladies!

The first & last incidents are def sus af! Omg. But ladies, DONT take business cards from suspicious people. If your instincts kick in telling you something is off, LISTEN to it! @@2536l1 I’ve heard about it from multiple women who have experienced possible sex trafficking incidents but I’m assuming they put some kind of drugs on the card/object they’re offering you, hoping you’d touch your face/nose, eventually causing drowsiness so they can take advantage of you. I’m not sure, just my assumption. But either way, I don’t interact or take anything from strangers, period!

My daughter was walking to her car after shopping. She was carrying her purse and a bag. Two men ran up from behind, grabbed, from behind the bottom of her sweatshirt and pulled it up over her head covering her face and over her head. If this happens one doesn't know what is happening! A vehicle could drive up along side or one could be dragged into a parked vehicle. She was concerned with covering her body. She dropped her bag and they took off with it. she couldn't identify them.
I've told my daughters when they usually offer modeling to pretty girls, If they want to model Go to an agency. And NEVER, NEVER park next to a van that you can not see what is inside. I saw a van that a girl was captured and immediately handcuffed to a seat. The van was sound proofed to the point she could scream and NOT be heard. A van door with you caught with your back to them trying to open your driver door and you have no where to go. Be aware of your surroundings.

When strangers are trying to get my attention, screaming excuse me. Ignore them. If they insist i'm like man i'm busy. Please get out my face!! When I was younger an arabic man approached me in the fashion district NYC, very handsome and well dressed. Asked me if I was a model that he owned a textile business and he'd like to take me to lunch. I declined bec I found the whole convo weird. When I internet date guys ask to pick me up and take me shopping.
Don't go anywhere with strangers. Not even around a corner. Don't be distracted in the city too much going on. I wear my headphones to not be spoken to but they are actually off. Do not answer to ppl saying hey and excuse me. Always meet internet date at a place of your choosing. And carry a weapon always. These are weird sick times.
    Stay safe.

No, no person who has lived in a city or who has any common sense would sit in a strangers car. Maybe someone who grew up in a super small town or who is sheltered or maybe a young girl, but that is it.

@@jackie.s2569 You are right that is completely valid and I did not think to consider the possibility of individuals who have experienced abuse/assault in the past. I know that being a victim of abuse/assault raises your chances of experiencing it again, and I also know that sometimes you can end up being trafficked by an abuser, but I didn't think about how being a victim of abuse/assault could also raise the chances of being trafficked in situations like this. I jumped on the comment too fast. I am so sorry you experienced that and I sincerely wish you all the best with therapy. 🙏

@@Woooooooohooo No, you did nothing wrong but your comment made me feel called out, so I had the feeling that I should share my experience as I think that even a person with common sense could do it. Knowing about me being pressured to do something I didn't want to and then being blamed by the police and my parents for not leaving the place and not keeping my ground made me think that the person who I was before the event and maybe still am would have done it..Just because of being scared of "saying no" when an older person keeps on asking me to do something and guilt tripping me...
I'm not even sure if the way my parents taught me to respect older people is considered abuse..They've been only always very strict, the only abuse I might experience is mental abuse as my father has narcissistic, moody and controlling ( due to anxiety issues) traits due to his own childhood trauma.. So you don't need to feel bad 💕 Just wanted to add something to your comment ☺

Woah that last story was extremely creepy. Being a woman in these times is so scary, I had a similar experience. I live in a very busy city and I was doing my grocery shopping and while shopping I seen this very tall older white man in every aisle I went through. I kept an eye on him but I wasn’t obvious that I was watching him. I was in the grocery store for 2 hrs, he was in the store longer than me and had only got one item. I check out, and I’m loading the trunk of my car I notice a black SUV with tinted windows driving into the lot, they were going to be driving past the trunk of my car so and I also notice the same older white man walking towards the front of my car. So I yell loud enough to stop him in his tracks (and walk towards the front of my car away from the SUV), “why are you coming so close. What is it you want?” Bc I can tell something is off, then out of nowhere this young girl that looks homeless/disheveled is walking through the lot towards me literally walking by the SUV that’s driving very slow. The older white man then says “ I was just asking if you seen where I parked my car” ... so I take out my taser and the SUV speeds past and the man walks away. And the disheveled girl just continues to walk past me staring at me, she then goes into Walmart. I hurry and load the rest of my groceries and get in my car + lock the doors. The older white man walks into the woods and the SUV is circling the lot. I pulled off so fast and went home. It was terrifying .

Candice please be careful dear. Sounds like these people may be still trying to engage with you. Please don’t worry about whether you appear to be rude when engaging... just get them out of your face and be aware of distraction techniques used to keep you engaged. Be totally aware of your surroundings I am not saying be paranoid but have a situational awareness. Also, You don’t have to feel the need to share what you do as a profession with strangers you encounter. People who are up to no good try to parrot whatever you say in conversation, I’ve noticed that you’ve mentioned you’ve encountered that several times.

one night years ago when I was 18 or 19, I was leaving Walmart alone. I noticed this van in the parking lot. Didn’t think anything of it. There were lot of people around. It was about 9 or 10 at night. When I left I noticed the same van pulling up right behind me. didn’t think about it because I thought we were going the same way. Then i decided to start making random turns just to see if they were following me and they were still behind me. I had stopped at a stop sign but it was in a darker area and I didn’t see anyone around. and the crazy van tapped my car. Not even enough to leave a dent....like barely tapped it. Like they wanted me to get out or something. I was scared and didn’t get out of the car. And they had their lights bright so I don’t even know if they did or not. I waited a couple minutes and I just sped off. I started driving like a maniac. And when I pulled off and made a right, the van lights weren’t blinding me anymore. I could see that the passenger door of the van was open but i couldn’t tell if the passenger had gotten out which was weird af.
I didn’t report it because I was scared that I would get into trouble for leaving an accident scene even though it was literally a tap. Was weird how they slowly tapped my car. Like it was intentional.

I get to me kids drop off spot and her this lady comes after a few minutes slow driving passes me on the road goes about 1/4 mile and stops in the road- no houses near there, a few minutes go by she pulls up behind me , stays then goes back toward my road. Finally the bud comes kids get off and I drive right passed her she turns her head away!?! After that no more walking home and I signed them up for online school. When I was 6 years old I was in the parking lot of the local library when a man approached me and asked if I could crawl through the window of his truck. He said he locked his keys inside and since I was small I could fit through the back window. I literally saw his keys on a keychain attached to his pants so of course I said no and I ran back inside and told the librarians. Thank goodness I was smart enough to recognize that at 6. (note: my mother used to leave my sister and I at the library after school while she worked long hours so that's why I was alone)

I was walking every morning, I would listen to my music with my headphones, this was in the mid 90s
As I left my home to go for my early morning walk, my husband said Be careful, I don’t like that you listen to your music, because you aren’t aware of your surrounds by distraction.... well after I started to walk, I. Thought if what he said... a few blocks into the walk, I see a car drive very slowly it was a station wagon, and i see two men in the car, the one in the passenger seat, got down to the floor and started to open the door, they were maybe 12 feet away, I quickly went to the house I was passing, and rang the bell... and as the woman opened the door they drove off fast. To this day, I know Thry were going to abduct me without a doubt...When I got home my husband was still home, I told him what happened, we got into his car and we drove around the neighborhood for about an hour, my husband was so determined to find this car, but with no avail.my husband was a NYPD officer, if it wasn’t for him bringing to my attention, to pay attention to my surroundings, I don’t think I would have even noticed, I would have been into my music the station wagon was following me at a snails crawl...
I was about to get abducted for sure, I am grateful I was walking in my neighborhood where there was home, after home.... and I could easily walk up to someone’s home and ring the bell
And one other time, I was driving on the highway to get to the mall, I took notice a car was following me, I would go to another lane he would too, when I went off the exit, where the mall was he followed me, I went to the mall, and parked my car where there were a lot of people so I could get out, I went to security, they followed me out, and followed me to a different location in the mall parking lot and on the side of the mall where I parked my car, they told me when I was leaving the mall, to come and get security, they followed me to my car to make sure no one was following me.... as I drove home there was no one following me, so I felt safe going straight home....
I’m glad you were wise enough and street smart, and you escaped these incidences...

I'm happy you're alright. When you said the car was moving at a "snail crawl" that made me think of this one time a few years ago when I was 22 I visited my friends apartment in JP (Jamaica Plain in Boston). She had a corner store 2 blocks from her apartment and I told her I was going to pick something up from there and walk over (it was in the middle of the day around 12 and sunny and beautiful out). I got to the store and a dark blue mini van followed me almost all the way down one of the residential streets leading back to my friends apt. But why wouldn't a car pass a person walking slowly down the road??!! I could hear the mini van slowly rolling behind me but never passing for like a minute and I got scared, too scared to turn around and face it b/c I thought what if that becomes their "cue" to jump out with rope and start running after me?! So I immediately turned directly into a driveway of the next house, I walked up this random driveway and into this strangers backyard pretending like I lived there. I ran to the other side of the house and peeked around the corner to watch what the mini van was doing and it ever so slowly creeped by the house. It slowly past the house but kept slowly creeping down the street as if it was watching in the rear view mirror. Then it gets to the end of the street and JUST SITS THERE FOR A MINUTE. And I'm still at the side of this strangers home on their property waiting for that car to turn. FINALLY it took a left and drove off.
Gotta be careful, these psychos are everywhere!!!

To Candice Conception... I could kiss your feet for sharing your experiences (all of which you DID escape human traffickers) ... approximately 22 years ago I was at Pearson International Airport, Toronto waiting for my sons flight from Halifax, Nova Scotia which was delayed by two hours. I encountered a young woman whom I discovered had been living at the airport for 3 days. I still don’t know what made me want to take her hand and not let go, maybe the fear, sadness, brokenness, absolute terror, or pain I saw in her eyes and to this day I do not know what made her trust me. She had escaped from human traffickers thanks to one of her handlers who could not continue in the human trafficking grind. He helped to get her as far as Toronto but then was alone & penniless.
She was from Vancouver Canada and had been sold by her mother at the age of almost 14 to trafficers. She was taken to California and from there used at political, corporate & major sports events all over the US & Canada. She was terrified of the police finding & returning her. She had not a day of education after she was sold. It took 3 months for her to feel safe enough to actually step outside in our very private backyard.
It is a long story. My friend & I sheltered her, eventually were able to get her an ID & a social insurance card. She eventually got a job at a neighbourhood restaurant who paid her under the table. Then we paid for her to take a bar tending course and she worked at small community bars out of the city, changed jobs frequently, moved frequently once on her own...
So Candice you think perhaps I may not believe you....I BELIEVE EVERY WORD. I am just so grateful you were not caught and like I said..I could kiss your feet for sharing your experiences! My friend & I swore an oath to never reveal her name and we never have or will. But I have tried to spread the word about human traffickers, to boys and girls. They think I am paranoid. Over protective. It is being more exposed especially over the past 4 years & law enforcement are closing in on them but humans traffickers run in the circles of very powerful ( politically & financially) people & sadly a police force that often looked the other way or worse protected the traffickers. You know it is the second most lucrative industry in the world next to drugs at no#1.
Bless you. I am so glad you remained safe...stay that way!! Gratitude for sharing and educating others🙏🙏👏👏♥️♥️

When I was homeless, (mom told me to learn how to survive) I was sleeping outside. I couldn't go to a shelter because of an incident that occurred a few years ago with a bully.🙄( Told her don't go to sleep, mainly because I intended on fighting AFTER I got off work🤷🏽‍♀️, she told the police and had her friend write a report. One police officer at this shelter stopped me from coming in, because she was aware of my Character and the other Girl, she told me not to come in or I would be in jail for seven years for verbal harassment so I never went back).
Anyway, outside, some clean white guy came to me and said how about you stay with this guy (spanish guy who tried to get me to come to his house a few times in three weeks, during winter time. )
I just didn't feel the need but then I caved. The biggest snow storm in years was approaching and I wasn't sure what to do but I was aware that People love to play on a woman's vulnerability. Fast-forward, within four days he kept trying to get me to lay on his bed and sleep with him. If he didn't have a recliner chair I would've slept on the floor.
Next thing I knew I caught him taking a picture of me when I went to the sink, to wash my hands. I asked him if he just took a picture and he was stuck. I took his phone and seen that he had five pictures of me. The first pic was the firsts day I came in, with my coat and bookbag.
I was putting my bookbag down with my back turned and he had snapped the photo. I deleted everything. I didn't want him to see me too uncomfortable, so I lied to him and told him to ask for a picture next time. It's ok. He asked if I was leaving and I said no I'm going to stay for a few more weeks. Maybe two three weeks. I need to save money.
I literally made a fort with my dumbass with a blanket. I waited until he went to work and I left.
Slept outside for another two weeks before I was able to save for a place., I mean I was working and had just got my job two months after being homeless.
I slept through the next snow storm.
I'm just grateful that he wasn't a rapist. He can be a creep but I'm glad he wasn't a rapist and didn't have a group of men drag me to a truck.
I can't even let a man pay for dinner after that shit 😂

I was almost taken by sex traffickers too, in London. I was on public transport at 9pm, going home after work, I was 23 years old. A black man and a white woman approached me on the bus, and they were super friendly and charming, and they wouldn’t stop talking and complimenting me. They caught me off guard and quickly pulled up a camera and took photos of me. The man was wearing sunglasses(at night!), a suit and a suitcase and the woman was wearing normal clothes. I thought they looked odd together. They said they were model agents and wanted to send me to Stockholm in Sweden for a modeling gig. They asked for my mobile number, and I gave it (They were skilled manipulators). They got off the bus same stop as me, and asked me if I wanted to take some photos in their apartment around the corner. That’s when my intuition kicked in so I responded “my boyfriend is waiting for me at home, but how about tomorrow”? And I smiled and walked away from them as I said “bye!”. Imagine standing in a dark alley in London at night with 2 human traffickers and nobody else around.. I wonder what that man carried in his suitcase... as I walked away they slowly walked after me with creepy smiles on their faces. The man also called my mobile as I walked away from them, but I kept walking home. I was terrified. I called my boyfriend who lived in the area and asked him to come quickly. He called the sex trafficker back and told him that he was going to hunt him down and kill him. it was all talk just to scare the trafficker obviously, but my bf sounded convincing. I just couldn’t sleep at night in that apartment, I was terrified to get kidnapped, so after going a few days of no sleep at all, I moved apartment. I was disappointed when I told my friends about happened because they almost blamed me, they told me that I was naive and never should’ve spoken to strangers on the bus in the first place. But they didn’t understand how skilled these ppl are at manipulating. I sometimes think about this day, and how my life would’ve changed if I had said yes to that modeling job. Frightening beyond words!! Sex traffickers are scum and I hope they all rot in jail. Period.

I'm from Brazil and I love real crime stories, especially human trafficking and mysterious disappearances and from what you said I believe that all cases could have been attempts at human trafficking, mainly because you said that people had a different appearance and in the first case the woman who approached you appeared to be European. As in addition to being beautiful and young, you are black, and people with different characteristics from the countries to which they are trafficked are worth a lot of money because they are seen as exotic, which is why there are several cases of Brazilian women trafficked to the northern hemisphere and women from the east European (generally with light hair and eyes) trafficked to Spain, Turkey, Egypt and other Arab countries (mostly with darker hair and skin), for example

I was walking down the street of the small town I was living in and a woman I'd never seen was across the street looking at me and coming towards me. She crossed specifically to talk to me, and called me "friend", the way some people do to strangers. I was grossed out by her and left. I think maybe she approached me one more time as I was going into a store. Then, as I was shopping, she approached me and held out money to me. I told her firmly--possibly loudly--no, and left. I was embarrassed. I had no idea at that time about how people are approached for sex trafficking. It's only today that I learned that this could have been that.

      @jaquelinemccarvill8233 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Human trafficking is VERY common in Eastern Europe. It worries me that you aren't aware of this! However, more women in Eastern Europe are trafficked to other countries, often under the pretense of a job (such as modeling) or they are just blatantly kidnapped whereas in America it tends to be domestic trafficking and these kinds of grooming techniques are more often used. To the other person who mentioned Finland - it is MUCH less common there than other EU countries, but from what I've heard it has been pretty steadily increasing even there. In the US I would say a good amount of people don't know someone this has happened to (it has never happened to me or any of my friends as far as I know), there are just a lot more stories here because we have SO many more people and TH-cam also is pretty American dominated.

I stumbled upon this video, and your last story jogged my memory of the same thing that happened to me several decades ago. I have a parent from NYC, and while I've never lived there, I have spent a lot of time there and have experienced seeing the same people in multiple places. I grew up in a large west coast city so running into the same people was exceedingly rare. However, and your video reminded me of this, that from ages 15-22 on several occasions the same man approached me and told me I could be a model. He was always in a suit and well-groomed but apparently he walked around the many many neighborhoods in this very large city. I think that it's weird that over a 7 year period I had run into him in completely different areas of the city at least 3 times that I can remember.

Ive lived in NYC for 20 years and these weird encounters are super common and not necessarily sex trafficking stories. I could go on and on about weird and bizarre things that have happened to me over the years. But I had a REAL kidnap attempt 15 years ago when I was hanging out in a strip club as a customer and I befriended a girl who was also there as a customer. She said we could make some real money together, i believe she said she was a model in Las Vegas or something. I was dumb and got in a car with her. There was a man in the car who was clearly her pimp and they locked the door and started driving away. I begged them to just let me go. Apparently i was not the guy's type or they didnt see me as money making machine because eventually they decided to let me go . I was young and dumb and never reported them. I can assume its worse now with social media, Tinder, etc. But the stories you mentioned are not that weird imo. Just random nyc weirdos.
