The denial of not accepting that something from the past has changed so much since you last saw it. That you're driven to think it merely looks like the thing of past, that the thing of the past is frozen in your memory and never changed. That hopefully you never missed a moment when you were away. Well, the giant blacksmith seemed to be undead, and the undead in the Dark Souls series are not zombies, undead are immortal beings that cannot die of old age. This allows the undead to live indefinitely long, which breaks the law of the Dark Souls world.According to the rule of the world of Dark Souls, the world changes every cycle (the era of darkness, the era of fire, etc.). If a creature breaks this rule and lives for several cycles, they become cursed and, under certain conditions, become hollow(What conditions are needed to become hollow is not clear, but Patchwork does not meet this condition and never will. Perhaps the condition is greed. Greed for magic, for light, for saving them, for having someone dear to them. So what am I on about? The giant blacksmith could not die or become hollow, he was probably just killed. And in this location there is only one boss and his minions.
