    4:10 is that State Farm Arena home of the Atlanta Hawks? And formerly the Atlanta Thrashers?

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. I believe it is High Museum of Art or The Woodruff Arts Center. State Farm Arena is in Downtown Atlanta, near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

    If anyone ever gets the chance please take a train ride. It is so beautiful. It's interesting and you'll meet people. It's relaxing and they even have 🔌 outlets for your phone and a food and drink bar. Gonna be pricey but it's worth it. 🌹 I just wanna get on a bus and ride around town for a day. Good place to write and think. ❤️

    I'm a foreigner and in my country people just scream the name of the bus stop when theyre going to arrive at it.. how do you notify you're arriving at your desired bus stop?

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. There is a cord by the window or button. Pull the cord or press the button and the bell will sound before arriving to your stop that you’re getting of at. The bus operator will stop.

    I ride Marta frequently!
    Not all routes are like this.
    Now, especially with the cuts…….they have the routes cut back……M to Friday are running on Sat schedules.😏
    Drivers often not even arriving to do their schedules on time. Temp drivers not knowing the routes……just a few days ago the driver on the bus didn’t know the route. Drove right past the turn…..had to tell her 😳😳😳. She stopped the bus right there in the road…proceeded to do a turn around …blocked traffic…….OMG.
    Some of the drivers are really respectful……most I’ve found can be so obnoxious and rude……
    And yes…..
    I have contacted Marta!
    Just a few months back……one of the CEO‘s of Marta decided …..at 10:45 pm (or approx) to walk on a platform and commit suicide by jumping in front of a train……
    Untold stories tell a lot more than you could imagine!!!

    This is one of a handful of buses that didn't have the service cut in half. And it's still full price of course. Marta sucks

    • @ATLMike94
      @ATLMike94 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Buses were free for about a year and a half during the pandemic lol. It's only back to regular price now. Full price is only $2.50. What's wrong with that?

    • @ogralph803onig6
      @ogralph803onig6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ATLMike94 we're not talking about the same thing. I'm talking about the most recent cuts in services for buses and trains that they said will last 4 months.

    • @ATLMike94
      @ATLMike94 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ogralph803onig6 yes I know what you're talking about. They've went to Saturday schedule for most routes because they have a shortage of drivers. Idk why you would expect the buses to be half price when they just lost millions of dollars on free bus rides during the pandemic and the state doesn't send any financial support at all. It's only $2.50 for a bus ride. I don't get what you're complaining about.
      Yes MARTA does suck sometimes, but it's one of the few transit systems in the country that doesn't receive any funding from the state. Go complain to the good old southern politicians in GA who don't support MARTA. MARTA could have improved and expanded a long time ago if they got any type of help from the state.

    • @ogralph803onig6
      @ogralph803onig6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ATLMike94 I know Marta is a private entity. The time to go to Saturday schedules was during the height of the pandemic when most ppl weren't riding instead of running a full schedule. I'm complaining about the year long period when buses just didn't come. Long before they went to Saturday schedules they just didn't tell anyone buses weren't coming. Trains as well. They don't have enough drivers because the starting pay is 17.39 and you need a cdl. Cdl holders can get about 5$ more on average per hour in Atlanta. The drivers also don't get breaks. IF they get ahead of schedule that little time is their time to "break." They can't eat on the bus so that's not really a break. Instead of raising pay like everyone else they wanna run their company into the ground. Politicians don't have anything to do with that. Also, they make money from advertising not just fares. But the fares do add up. Marta has over 500k users per day. Add that up

    • @WilliamAkins-rw2hv
      @WilliamAkins-rw2hv วันที่ผ่านมา

      MARTA may technically be private, but transit agencies are really quasi-government entities because they are effectively a municipal service and a monopoly by necessity, and also because they usually receive public money, which MARTA does. Because of that, the quality and consistency of its service should really be a periodic focus of the local media just like any other metropolitan concern. It isn't.
