Thanks for the feedback on these. I've seen videos on here where guys had trouble with the ETS and just moved on saying it doesn't work for a single stack. With some practice and a focus on making sure the mag is fully seated and aligned, it works great! So I use the ETS for all my mags including my shield, unless I'm using bulk ammo loose in a can. Thanks again!

@@everettware3466OK i got the speed loader out and i really love it. I wish I'd had it with be last weekend. I was using my uplala then or loading by hand. With the speed loader just be sure to fully seat the mag in the loader. You do have to load the ammo in which depending on how its boxed can take a little time but then you can fully load the ammo in one good push. It's really a time saver and a thumb saver. I have another for my 223 ar and it works just as well.
If you buy your ammo boxed like he shows in the video it loads really fast. Like he mentioned in the video i set the mag on my chest and push. Also do insert the mag, fully, before adding ammo to the loading rail or they'll all fall out. I did this the first time i tried it 😂

I have a Uplula and love it. Frankly, I don't think I could load my mags without it. However, after watching your video I will definitely be looking to purchase an ETS loader. Even with bulk loads (if doing several mags) I think it would be faster to load some old caddies/organizers and use the ETS than use the Uplula. On the flip side, the Uplula is definitely more portable . So while I will buy an ETS, I will not be dumping my Uplula.

Protip: make sure the ETS loader is lubed up well, save your caddies and put your loose ammo in them and store in your ammo box. Ets is a great loader. If you’re loading 45 or 380 then you typically dont have many rounds to load anyway lol. Stay safe 🤞🏼

Funny thing... I've got both .45 ACP and 9mm. My Mag-Lula takes care of both of these calibers, where as ETS wants me to buy 2 different loaders. By using the Mag-Lula, I can also do a quick visual inspection of my ammo, as I load the mags. BTW, also works for my wife's .380. I'll gladly sacrifice speed in this instance.

I got a purple Uplula. Which is another thing it has over the ETS: colors. ETS only comes in black. Black is fine, but I like color. Also, there is no maintenance with the Uplula. ETS was designed for Glock mags, which it does fine with. Very useful for the fun stick. But it is finicky with my Walther mags. If I could only have one, it would be the Uplula. If I have a choice, which I do (I have both), I start with the ETS and use it until it jams. (Make absolutely sure the mag is seated correctly.)

  • @mlone7

I have both. ETS says it doesnt hurt your feed lips but it did on my HK USP as well as not a smooth load, and unlike this video, it didnt want to load my 15 round M&P 2.0 compact 9mm mags very well. It loaded my glock mags well but again I noticed marks in the feed lips Like you state, if you buy loose ammo its really not that much faster because you have to load the loader one at a time. I love the Maglula. I load any caliber for any gun. Single stack, Double stack....makes no difference. 380 to 45 makes no difference. Compact and easy to use with no damage what so ever to your magazines. Maglula for me. ETS makes a 223 loader that is the shit. No complaints with that one.

I own the ETS and tried the Maglula. The ETS is really persnickety. I will have to try the oil idea because it basically stopped working all together. I think I did a few hundred rounds before it wouldn't go in any magazine I tried (M&P9, M&P40, Sig P226, VP9). You really gotta cram them in, and it flipped rounds a few times. While I'm overwhelmed at the speed it can load rounds, it does you no good if it's too hard to get the ammo in.
The Maglula on the other hand was less physical effort to load but was obviously slower. How much slower? Maybe in the seconds range, but but not by much. It's 10X better than hand loading.
In the end, I agree with having both, but only if the ETS malfunctions and you need a backup. If you're tired and wiped out then the 'Lula shines. It's solid and worth every penny but I certainly prefer the ETS. Again, fingers crossed the oiling trick works because I have something like 13 magazines to load (including two 32rd mags) and that job sucks by hand!

Just bought the ETS, and I need a ton of pressure to load the magazine(Sig P365). Brand new gun, by the way. So it may just need some working on it. But with your P226 magazine demonstration, I'm optimistic it will get better.

Why can’t you just keep a caddy in your ammo box. Load 10 rounds in line in the caddy first, then you can use the ETS and I bet it will still be faster than using the Maglula.

Maglula's Uplula Loader is the best I have ever found. I have used it on Every pistol caliber from 380 to 45 works on Any magazine, including single stack with the small extra plate for single stack. The only other loader I use is one for rifle mags.

I bought the Uplula after slicing a nice dent in my thumb when loading a double stack 9mm. It works well with 9mm and .45 . It fits in my range bag and is quick and easy. I have not tried the ETS, but from the video it’s over kill for loading 3 mags at a time.

I have both in my range bag. Love the speed of the ETS however, I've found that certain ammo trays work better that others. If the rounds fit in the tray loosely then the ETS has a difficult time picking them up. I've also found the ETS does not like the Springfield Hellcat mags, but it works great with my XD mags. Different tools for different jobs.

I ordered and received the ETS CAM Loader in two business days, 3 real-time days.
The very first time I tried to load 8 40cal Winchester "PDX1 Defender" into an original equipment S&W59 15rd 9mm magazine worked perfectly and quickly and SMOOTHLY. These are a modified flat-nose with a hex-head "crown" looking bullet tip (and yes, that's the *9mm* magazine...it's cross-compatible in some gun brands).
Same for 9mm flat-nose into a different original equipment S&W59 15rd magazine; fast and very smooth.
I used the "sternum" loading method. It was very intuitive. I didn't have to refer to the instructions (although I had glanced at your video one time about a day ago).
*However, loading 9mm FMJ ROUND NOSE was a LOT different*
I had the most problem with FMJ ROUND NOSE 9mm CCI Blazer and Remington rounds. While they eventually loaded, it was start-stop a few times each time I tried to load 10 rounds into those same 14rd magazines, but could be completed without taking things apart. It was clear the relative alignment of the cartridges from "true" was much more critical for the round nose cartridges...most likely as these are longer overall than the flat-nose cartridges so clearances are more critical. (note: the round-nose 9mm cartridges are longer overall than even the 40cal flat-nose cartridges (eyeball estimate almost 0.015" to 0.020" longer)
Also, when I tried to load the last 5 FMJ 9mm round-nose into the 15rd magazine, it was consistently very difficult to load the last 3 rounds due to a "jam-up". So for general loading I'd say a consistent 12 rounds of this type was reasonable.
We'll see about durability but this first experience was pretty impressive.

I have to rap the bottom of some mags on the table to get the last few rounds in to sort of settle them in their proper places. kinda like the rap you do on ar15 mags.

      @@charleswittmer2477 Good point.

I buy in bulk, but I go to the range with Remington 250 boxes in my bag, that I restock after shooting. So my ammo is in the plastic trays. So my "Range time" reloading would be great with the ETS. I have had a Maglula for years, and love it.

Hey use your minds! When you buy your ammo in bulk, say 1000 rounds, then save the plastic trays from those small purchases of ammo you buy in 50-100 rounds and reuse the plastic trays for your bulk loading. It’s a great way to recycle those plastic trays. Each purchase of a 1000 rounds, you should have 5 50 round plastic trays in your ammo cans!

I have found that the ETS is a little finicky there are some double stack magazines that I just cannot load with it.some of the double stack magazines and I have are too thick and they won't go inand others you have to push extremely hard even when properly lubricated. I can also testif that if you have your hand in the wrong spot you will end up with a giant blood blister because it will pinch you hard. However when it does work with the various magazines that I have it is fast and slick.

I save my plastic trays for when I buy loose pack ammo- not just because of my ETS loader, but it's easier to count rounds and I'm kinda OCD about numbers, lol. I have a maglula type as well that I use for steel ammo (doesn't work well in the ETS) that does pretty good too- it's the ASAP from Butler Creek. Works the same way

I just got an ETS speedloader to use for my S&W SD40VE. It works, but not near as easily as in this video. It is taking quite a bit of pressure to get the cartridges to load in the magazine. I hope this gets easier as the loader gets broke-in. Instructions say to oil it, which I did, and that probably will not be necessary after about 500 rounds. I sure hope it get easier. I also got the UpLula and that works great.
