The fact that the bank employee lied and said they had verified it was a bogus check, only to later verify it to be a live check, raises further suspicion on the bank employee -- false police report?
This!! It blows my mind of the absolute NO accountability of all these people that freak out and have 911 always at the top of their phone history? Literally thousands of taxpayers dollars are wasted on each one of those calls. And also the absence of needed help in actual emergency that could occur in that time.

“Don’t say anything stupid or else you’ll be arrested” amazes me that cops forget freedom of speech exists when someone is upset at them for being falsely accused.
As someone who was going to be a cop and has cops as friends the officer was trying to help him by saying that. Officers deal with angry ppl everyday most of which are actually breaking the law. Many of those ppl start making violent threats to the officer or other ppl. Cops are supposed to remind ppl to stay calm because it keeps the situation from escalating, but most ppl no nothing about police or their training and only see the negative behavior of the .01% of police and forget that there are 1 million cops in the US all working 10-12 hour days stopping and interacting with dozens of ppl per day, thousands per year each and done fairly and correctly 99.99% of the time , but that doesn't make it to the news because it isn't interesting and wouldn't provide views and clicks for media to make money so we perceive there to be a huge issue because we only see the bad.

The entire conversation to confirm the validity of the check took less than 15 seconds. Too bad the cop didn’t have the courage to lecture the bank manager instead of the kid.
True ! Everyday occurrence , so the manager took it upon himself to not follow procedure for that particular person for a particular reason . And we all know now what that reason was , thanks to the video footage .
Cop is trained to be a cop. The banker should be able to call and validate a paycheck instead of calling cops. So the cop did the managers job. Anyway it sucks for the young man. But I think we should be more angry with manager who didn’t do his job.
Here's the problem. Suppose this branch truly did receive a lot of fraudulent UNFI checks as they claimed. In that case, you calmly explain the situation to the customer and let them know that a quick one-time verification will be required (and on any subsequent visits, that person is whitelisted). What you DON'T do is march the customer into your office and treat them like a criminal. Brainless oafs.
I wouldnt even explain that part. I'd just say I had to do a standard verification and go check it. I'm not gonna say anything that might suggest I suspect fraud cuz that's gonna come off as accusatory af if the check is legit.
@@joannamonique707 That's a reasonable approach. I like to err on the side of full disclosure, so I would make it clear that all checks from that location are subject to verification, and that it wasn't specific to that customer.
Wrong. I know tons of people who are idiots with degrees. I think majority of us commenting on this video don't hold a degree, including myself, and even we know better. A degree means nothing. Only after the police arrived was he calm as far as we know. As a retired police officer, I personally have no doubt that the guy was threatening before the police arrived.
Someone should remind these officers that "looking guilty" and being guilty are two very different things in the eyes of the law. This man was being accused of a crime he didn't commit. He had every right to be upset.
The Sgt. is so full of it. He didn’t even apologize for being wrong. This is what happens to so many young & older black men across the country. We’re guilty until proven innocent.
How fucking dare that Sergent criticize him on his behavior. He had every right to be pissed off and he wasn't acting irrational. Absolutely infuriating.
This kind of situation is tough bc the cops have to remove people from private property if asked to, and often there's been no crime committed. The bank manager even lied to police saying he HAD called and been told the check was fake. Firing him was the right thing to do, but it doesn't say much about the bank when a cowardly CEO, Andrew Cicere, didn't have the decency to come on camera and apologize for the incident. Instead, he tried to hide behind empty boilerplate statements of valuing diversity and respect. I don't believe former CEO, Richard Davis, would have handled the situation this way. He was a great leader who set an example of character and decency that is rarely seen in CEOs. Sadly he left the bank a few years ago to be replaced by someone who is apparently lacking those qualities. Cicere should be ashamed of himself.

The biggest thing that should've happened is when he started getting upset was that the officer should've asked him calmly if he could come to a separate office for a little bit. Then have the bank dig up a few snacks for the guy so he is put at ease. And you can proceed with asking him a few questions calmly and just have a casual conversation. During that point the bank manager can call to confirm the authenticity and when proved real come in and apologize. Easy simple and no one gets upset. If the officer watching the guy while another is with the bank manager just has a casual conversation, asks him questions about work like what ya do and how interesting that is, it goes a looooong way to making people feel at ease.
Doesn't matter how stupid the situation is shut up and take it to court don't cause a scene and be dumb. This leader of the community is sensitive, he was talking about validation of the check not of black people. Take it to court and get paid.
He could’ve worked 5, 10, 20 hrs. He should’ve been treated fairly no matter what to cash a check that was provided to him for working. A lot of white people are always on the fence when interacting with black citizens because we don’t have the same tone, gestures, or morals as them. We were raised differently and most definitely raised to know that this is common in white america. While white people are taught a lot that we are always angry, unprofessional, and lazy.
"dont say anything stupid" coming out of the mouth of this cop then finding out that indeed the cop, the manager, and US Bank were the ones in the wrong is a perfect illustration of our society as a whole.
The p.o.s. badge said that specifically to try to bait Mr. Morrow into getting mad and doing something. Nobody ever says calm down to someone who IS calm, unless they're trying to piss them off. The moment that worthless badge laid eyes on Mr. Morrow, he had already decided on arresting him for whatever reason he could come up with. Even if Mr. Morrow had stood up slowly he would have ended up in cuffs.
It’s a gas lighting tactic and he should have turned his words back on him instead of sitting their listening to his false narrative “advice” designed to exonerate the shody investigation conducted by the officer that failed to validate the bank manager’s allegations
After watching this again I just realized the bank manager lied to the cops and claimed he had already called UNFI and verified the check was fake. Why wasn't that bank manager in cuffs for making false statements to police during an investigation? the kid was cuffed for "standing up aggressively" while having his civil rights violated but the bank manager can lie to police and no one cared. Disgusting! Instead of lecturing the kid and trying to justify their actions that cop should have apologized to him and cuffed that manager and hauled him out of the bank like the criminal he is
Indeed, the issue however comes when people, ofen key board commados feel the need to support the bank (in this case) caliming the cusomer did whatever and of course complaining if somone makes a scene. I was once accused to steal, was held back in the store ( not a bank though) and ending was the store had to close for total restuation becuse I broke everthing and then broke it again and left, leaving the bill with the shop and it did break the shop, it actually got bankrupt, and that was a good thing

@@Heat_Rush To be fair he was suspected of a crime so detainment was reasonable and cops went with bank managers statement that he had already confirm it was fake, so if anyone is in wrong its the manager, but yeah cops tend to trust companies way too much, just like on other organizations like city hall employees. Be a good little boy, keep your mouth shut and stay out of grown folks conversations... 😂
Exactly how are you supposed to "act", when you're handcuffed, called a theif, and threatened with jail, for simply trying to cash your paycheck at YOUR BANK?
Obviously you're suppose to go irate and start threatening people.
Right???? I have every right to be angry!
And tired! He worked 12 hrs prior!
Exactly. The cop was saying don't get angry or it would make you look guilty, would only make me more angrier because I'm innocent & just worked 12 hours & a fat racist banker said he doesn't want me touching anything on his desk. Acting calm about the complaint would ma ki e you look guilty like you got something to hide.
I'd sue them for something like that
"When you get upset and irate it makes you look guilty" Who wouldn't feel like that in such a situation?!
Well if u know ur not guilty, then u should have a massive grin on ur facing knowing that you going to prove these people wrong.
@@Fnn-jl7he thats the problem not everyone can be calm when they're in that kind of situation

He can save you from eternal suffering under the Earth, where hell is hot..
Not everyone who calls me their Lord will get into the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones who obey my Father in heaven will get in.
Matthew 7:21.....
Most embarrassing thing was a female police officer is carrying PINK HANDCUFFS
He probably worked 60-70 hours to get that check, and they treated him like that.
What? That's a 40 hour check.
No, he worked 40 - 45 hours.
@@Pamela_Lopezs Still worked very hard for it
He could’ve worked 5, 10, 20 hrs.
Depends on how much he gets paid
"dont say anything stupid" coming out of the mouth of this cop then finding out that indeed the cop, the manager, and US Bank were the ones in the wrong is a perfect illustration of our society as a whole.
black ppl threatening cops then crying about it, yes this society is f*cked
"This feels like racial profiling."
"I will arrest you for saying that."
Immediate lawsuit, sue everybody.
The p.o.s. badge said that specifically to try to bait Mr.
Ironically the best advice. Never talk to the police. The phrase is "Everything WILL be used against you". Lawyer up.
Totally in agreement with you!

U already know the answer to that
They don't care they just want to kick hem out and cover their own butt.😑
We've investigated ourselves and found ourselves guilty of no wrongdoing 😊
So the cop was trying to dump this incident back on Joe. I hope he sued the the living crap out of the bank.
And the police, as soon as they knew the check was legit and everything the police should have left and this man allowed to go about his business. First thing I would do is close my account there and find a credit union.
@@theshadowbehindyou9631 ig they just wanted to do some extra unnecessary explaining to sugar coat the racial profiling. The cop did apologize in the end tho but not the piece of shix manager

@@tadeob_ 💯
That is still racial profiling. He looks like a good kid, but how would anyone feel if they are being treated like a criminal? I would feel downright disgusted. ESPECIALLY since the bank manager claimed he didn't verify it was real until AFTER all of this occurred. That bank manager should just resign from his position.
this happens way more often then ppl think
Police alike bank tellers Bank presidents all of these people white people just brush everything under the rug just like nothing has happened if not one of those people decide that this was not wrong all of those people are condemning their own race letting everyone know what they are this is wrong on so many levels he should have sued the police department just as well as the bank and every one of color needs to avoid these Banks that harass us
He should have to face legal repercussions. This is absurd. Racial profiling and even lying to justify his accusations.
@@naomismith5206 should but that would require law to be made and we wouldn’t want to make laws to give African Americans equal rights now would we

@Joe Ski it was legal a check though from what I've read into. But ya never know what ya read nowadays
They treated him so badly even the police officer should have handled it differently this is absolutely disgusting
Cops always take the side of companies and everyone against the citizen. If the bank told the cop to put him in jail, he would have done it. Cop should have just left until the manager had evidence of something.
@@TheBooban Or at least waited to detain him until he had confirmation that the man was actually guilty.
Also its very possible relatively large number of N's do try cash fake checks that leads to ruined name for honest black people. KSTP was race baiting here hard as usual, so that set the tone for whole thing.
“Every day things”
Lololol I’m from Minnesota so no wonder
It drives me crazy when a police officer feels he or she can dish out some prophetic life lesson as if he or she knows how to live better than other people.
It upset me to no end 😐
They think they everybody's daddy. stfu and follow the law. Simple, stupid.
seriously they are so annoying when they do that
Joe should then tell the cop how to store food in his kitchen. He works at one of the largest food distributors in the country. Just start saying crap that milk must be kept refrigerated in order to assure freshness. Make sure to freeze any meat products you do not plan to use in the next couple days. Cook thoroughly all pork and chicken products in order to avoid infection & food poisoning.
But let’s be real it’s not just cops who do that. It’s Teachers, cops, medical professionals, politicians, etc. anyone in a position of power. Maintaining a calm demeanor almost always leads to a better outcome than if you get upset. It’s the truth, people just don’t wanna hear it. That message could come from anyone, people just don’t like being told what to do.
That should motivate the young man to go back to school and become an Attorney to help protect others that go through the same thing and fully go after those who lie and discriminate and are the real criminals.
“You’re acting guilty” I’m pretty sure that’s a pretty justifiable response for being accused of a crime
How is character guilty?
Oh racial profiling for non crime committed! rights violation, false arrest 😤 lawsuit flip poor taxpayers 🤪
@@dolemites_chain I don't think it was meant as justification, I think it was more of an observation.
