The Beatles - Norwegian Wood 国分あきこ on Sitar and Vocal 原田康生 on Tabla 島田未来 on Esraj (Dilruba) • Goodbye 2020 Hello 202... 内川浩志 on Guitar and Vocal @Hakone Tent / Aug 24, 2019
George played the sitar on Norwegian Wood, but it was a Lennon McCartney song. And not a very nice one, either. Sounds great on these instruments, though.
Man, I love the sitting on the floor, rug, I'm having flashbacks to the 60s. Seriously, this has a hippie vibe of that era that I so miss. You have no idea. You had to be there.
I believe you, as I was there, Incarnated In the Year of the Ignited FireHorse, '66. I am Ion, like a Lion In Zion, Tripping Eternally In Cosmic Consciousness
Great music and I love to see this- women and men sitting together on the rug, playing their instruments and enjoying the classic song. I like to sit on the floor and play this song on my guitar too. 😊
Aside from George's use of the sitar, John Lennon wrote the song which has a deeper meaning. "I once had a girl or should I say, she once had me"... Therein lies the pretext. John had a gift for language as he changed the title from "Knowing She Would" to "Norwegian Wood" cleverly circumventing the sensors. John was always one move ahead of everyone. So misunderstood as are most gifted artists.
GROSS: What did you think of the solo he played on "Norwegian Wood"? SHANKAR: I never heard it before. And it was only much later on, my nephew and nieces, they played it for me and I thought it was terrible, in the sense - in the sound that was produced on the sitar. The song was nice. I liked the song very much but it was a peculiar sound
At this stage, from right to left, a sitar, an esraj, a guitar, and a set of tabla are being played. The drone sound is played by a machine, in this case, an app.
Awesome cover! Although I do have to say the singer couldn't articulate the pronunciations properly, maybe due to him being a native speaker (it's all good). Loved all the band members!
George Harrison looking down from heaven says "this is good the Norwegian Wood
Oh! What a comment! Thank you so much.
Maybe looking up from another place

The original Norwegian Wood by the Beatles, 1965, had a sitar. Great idea to perform this song with much more Indian instruments.
