- In this video I found a Rover P6 V8 Auto. We do some work to her and then send her to a new home. For those who don't know this is a video I filmed last year I am working on some new videos and you should see them next week.

Great to see young people appreciating the P6. Wonderful and still under valued to my mind. I’ve owned 4 over the years. Started with a series 2 2000sc then a late 3500 S. That was followed by a series 1 with a later 2200 tc engine. I inherited my late dad’s 3500 auto back in 2016 but sadly due to work and home it’s spent most of that time in a garage at my mum’s

@@classic_britain About three years. My dad originally got it around 97-98 from a Volvo specialist in Newton Abbot. He did very few miles over the next 18 or so years. It’s been garaged always since dad had it so it’s really clean. If there is another way of contacting you I will give you some more information and get some pictures taken of it

This is what makes your channel. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The banter between you and Lucas is entertaining and you even work on the cars too. I'm tempted to get a P6 but I have too many cars already.

Fun fact all the trim on P5 and P6 Rovers is Stainless Steel and if not deformed will come up like brand new. The lights, number plate plinths and bumpers are chrome as is outer shell of P5 radiator grille.
One of my two fav cars ever the P6 V8. Never brave enough to buy one though

I remember the days when you could pick up a 2200TC for a couple of hundred quid. I've never owned a Rover myself although I do like the SD1, but I had a pal with one for a while. I recall the nightmare he had with the brakes. I'm up near Truro but old BMW are my thing should you ever see my 535 or 1602. Anyway, subbed for more Cornish car content.

I had a 74 3500S with a SD1 5 speed gear box. which I loved, except in the summer it was so hot in the cabin it was unbearable, which was the reason I sold it. I hear excessive heat in the cabin is a common problem on a P6, is there any way of fixing this?

Hello guys a bought a mini cooper on the 70s that was laid up in a garden for years bodywork was a bit of a mess but i charged up the battery and to my amazment it started first time just goes to show all that glitters may not be gold.👍❤

I heard that the aluminium V8, used in the Leyland ,is actually a German BMW motor that was passed around years ago to British Rover,..is this TRUE.

Copied the Citroen ds construction , stressless panels on a full body frame . Still a nice car though .

@@classic_britain good to hear always had a soft spot for these cars as a kid and teen nearly brought a clean one in 2018 for only a couple of grand I regret not getting it :) when your 3500s i could be interested I'll keep an eye out for vedieo on the car :)

Yeah Freddie Laker was trying to take the same route as Easy Jet and Ryan Air finally took, a guy yesterday said he was flying to Tenerife for £12 so much for discouraging climate change.
