    Hello Medicine Mom!
I am so glad I found your channel. I was a career Firefighter/Paramedic, and I just recently retired early to go full-time pre-med. I created my youtube channel last week (it's very bare bones right now), and discovered your channel in the process.
My wife had HELP syndrome, which of course they take very seriously, but they also ignored her abdominal pain. That right upper quadrant abdominal pain was liver failure! The nursed just scoffed at her complaints because its normal for twin moms to 'complain'. These stories and situation remind me to make sure my mindset is correct going into medicine. It's easy to let your guard down and become desensitized to suffering.
Maybe we can collaborate in the future? Cheers!

Paramedic school was my first intro into the healthcare field. I still use what I learned in paramedic school everyday. I think it is a pretty common thing for women not to be treated seriously, but I am very glad they eventually listened to her. HELP syndrome is no joke. Wow twins! Amazing. I would love to collaborate in the future. I am just starting out too. I used to blog, but that medium isn't really used anymore. I have a strong feeling you are going to do really well in both medicine and getting your message through on YT.

Hey Medicine Mom! I am on a similar journey with 7 kids: 22 yo son married with a wife and 2 kids, one 17 yo daughter in Cosmetology school living on her own, 15 yo daughter in high school wants to be a pediatrician, 13 yo daughter wants to be a doctor, 11 yo son wants to be an engineer, 8 yo son wants to study animals, and a 17 mo son wants to get into all my cupboards! 😂 I first wanted to do this 18 years ago, but it has taken me so long to get this close. Working on a DIY premed post bachelorette and hoping to apply 2025 to start 2026! I want to start a channel to support other Moms on this journey, because I think there are more of us out there feeling isolated. Thanks for doing this for me, you are my inspiration today to get through my OChem and Anatomy while my kids have a two day break and have parent teacher conferences today 🎃

You've got this! I'm really happy you reached out. Along the way, I met only handful of other moms in the world through the internet with big families. The journey can be very lonely still, though, and there is not a lot of support for mothers. I think you could inspire a lot of people with a channel, and it sounds like you have an amazing family. I'd watch it for sure! Feel free to reach out whenever if you need to talk.

I’m so sorry people treated you so badly! I’ve heard of HG but I did not know it was so stigmatized!

I think it is so good that you are following your passion, i want to do nursing when my children grow up. HG is so hard!! I know a few people that have been through it and they have suffered so bad and here in Australia it seems to be taken seriously. Good on you for doing this for women! That is a rediculous theory that its about not wanting your child! That makes me so mad!!!

I really couldn't believe that I was actually being told such crap, lol. I am always curious how women are treated outside of the US. We are supposed to be a great country but have some room to grow still. You should totally go to school when your children are grown. They will be proud of you becoming a nurse.

Thank you for the video! And I'm really sorry you had to go through that, I dont have kids but it must have been awful, I would like your advice, I have finished all pre reqs for nursing school, but I want to go into medicine now, do you think I should do nursing first then medical school, alot of people discourage this route, but I can literally apply to nursing school now, if I switch majors now it's another two years in community college, then transfer, I am thinking I should finish nursing school and then focus on medicine, looking at your journey encourages me to do that! I also wanted to start a TH-cam channel but I am really embarrassed to be in front of a camera, I have to work on it!

Thank you! It is in the past now. I would probably apply to nursing school and start on the premed requirements. I would do my pre-med requirements at the same time as nursing school if that fit they the schedule, but that is just me. Follow your heart on it. Nursing is a good thing to have in your back pocket. If you are dead set on becoming a doctor you can still do it. Now or later, it is all your choice on what timeline to follow. There are online pre-med requirements that you could do in your spare time outside of nursing school. You could kill two birds at the same time. You should totally start a channel. I am way awkward talking to a camera, but your story is worth being told.

Thank you I think I am gonna do that, I'm just gonna focus on nursing for now, then do pre med requirements afterwards, one step at a time, thank you! I'll be looking out for more videos! Have you met @flightnurse2md he was a nurse for 15 years and then went to medical school he is also an inspiration!
