- A man who set himself on fire outside the New York courthouse where Donald Trump’s hush-money trial was being held has died, according to reports.
Maxwell Azzarello is said to have been “declared deceased by hospital staff” according to police, NBC News said.
The time of death is not known.
Azzarello doused himself in a cleaning substance before lighting himself on fire on Friday across the road from Manhattan Criminal Court, just moments after a full jury panel had been selected to try the former president.

A lot of it has to do with people being saturated with both real and imagined stories and movies and media images of terrible stuff that many of us are somewhat dulled to the sensationalism it used to bring, and in some ways sick and tired of having to be compassionate for every one who has a screw loose. There is a lack of compassion when the event is "just another "stupid human action". This event is sad and tragic. But tomorrow it will be eclipsed by a kardashian breakup or a sports star getting busted or yet another school shooting. And again our compassion drops another degree.
