You literally just left out the Byzantine Empire yourself. The Byzantine Empire predates the Ottoman Empire. It was the eastern half of the Roman Empire that remained after the western half fell. Greek was the primary ethnicity not Turkish. Also Orthodox Christian not Muslim. The guy in the video is not really wrong, though he didn't really word it correctly. It's not a black spot in history because there is a ton of written history about it, but most people don't know anything about it. Most people are unaware that the Roman Empire continued to exist throughout the Middle Ages.
