This also gives a wonderful glimpse of the room in of itself (without the presence of Conan). Although Conan was not there, you can see his stamp in the five of them in the room.
Sona: outstanding job. Way to step up during such an overwhelming time with the perfect balance of humor and respect. We love all of our Chill Chums (that means you too, Gourls)
Absolutely. They've joked about just having Sona and Gourls time and it's nice to finally see that they can totally hold their own (not that I'm surprised). There were times I was thinking "holy crap is this SONAN O'Brien?". The rest of the crew as well contribute so much, they could really do a lot of these tbh. Also, I love Conan but it IS nice to see Bley chime in with something and not get ripped apart lol.
She's got the talent. Remember when kumail stood the show up? She became the guest. They literally called her up to hair and makeup ten minutes before going out.
I live in Boston and I heard people talking about Dr. and Mrs. O'Brians' passings completely unrelated to Conan, it was a little surreal. Condolences to the whole family.
This makes me realize what superstars everyone on Conan’s team are. I think it’s because they’re all decent people and somehow it’s comforting to watch them as they cover for their boss who they love during his time of grief. What a sad but heartwarming Christmas it’s turning out to be. (Conan O’Brien is Surrounded by Friends just doesn’t have the same ring to it though.)
Are you questioning Conan's love for his staff? He literally paid out of pocket to keep Bley and Jeff Ross and Jordan Schlansky among others during the transition from the tonight show to Conan on tbs.
oh man Sona you CRUSHED it. Having to take control while people deal with heavy stuff is so not easy, but you guys were both respectful and good natured about the whole thing.
No other celebrity on the planet would invoke such strong emotions of sympathy and loss during this sad time for the O'Brien family. You really have touched all of our hearts with your authenticity and humour. Love from Canada.
This was a joy to watch/listen to. My condolences goes out to Conan and the whole O'Brien clan. I must say though, literally my first thought when I heard about his parents passing was how incredibly beautiful it was that they were not parted for long, so I'm happy that sentiment was echoed by Sona and Matt!
@@ProHobbyjogger I suspect the family may be thinking along those lines....when I read the obits I was amazed at what both of them accomplished in their lives, beyond raising a family. Like, way to live a life and run through the tape! I hope Conan can share some of it when he gets back.

They gave us Conan and his five siblings, they did incredible work, they lived to their mid nineties and passed within days of one another. Beautiful lives, rest in peace.
I think the mother was 4 years younger, so she died around 90. So, not mid. But my grandmother died at 92 and apparently my great grandmother died at 95, but obviously I never knew her given I'm 33 and my mother is 68 or so. And these were her mother and grandmother.
We love you, Conan. And great job to Sona and Gourles for handling this with the same signature humor/banter as the normal podcast. It must've been tough to talk about, especially for Sona.
Sona deserves so much credit: She places herself in a secondary comedic role when Conan is around, but here we see Sona is not only genuinely funny in her own right (to me, she's the funniest of the three of them) but also really confident behind the mic, which only serves to demonstrate further her comedic chops. Brilliant job all around.
I lost my mother to cancer last year and one of the things that helped bring some sort of joy to my life was watching you guys be silly, obtuse and downright insane. Even though his parents lived a very full and long life, the cavity a parent leaves behind never seems to get filled. Please give him the warmest and biggest hug from me, as you guys through your comedy helped to save me from my darkest pit
Lost my father unexpectedly in 2005 in a car crash on his way to work. It was tough to deal with, but Conan and his Late Night show would take my mind off of it and gave me one hour of peace each weeknight. The man will probably never realize just how many people he has lifted up when they needed it the most.
My condolences to both! I also lost my mother to cancer 3 weeks ago, and hearing about Conan loss and your losses has made me sentimental, we are all humans, we all suffer, but reading the nice and kind comments has also bring joy to my hearth that we unite in each other losses, and at the same time send love to Conan!
CONAF has definitely been one of the best parts of 2024 for me. The hilarity, silliness, uncomfortable truths, and team dynamics have been a joy to behold. Condolences to Conan; it is cool though that his parents were married for 66 years. That’s goals.

My deepest condolences to Conan and his family. I have heard about his parents for all these years to the point that I think I know them (at least through Conan's eyes and comedy). My heart goes out to him and his siblings. I believe the depth of your grief relates to the depth of the love you have experienced. Sonas laugh is chicken soup for my soul!! ❤❤❤ (so sorry to the O’Brien family. Very somber time indeed)
Sending lots of love to my favorite Uncle Conan. ❤ (related by television)
How lucky is Conan to have had so many years with both of his parents. Love you Coco
It's amazing how much joy this group brings to the world with their silly antics. I've loved watching Conan ever since middle school. I had to sneak so I could stay up and watch Late Night on something called "television". ❤ Coco and I'm sorry for your loss.
Conan's Ads are the ONLY Ads that I actually LISTEN to and ENJOY.
My condolences to Conan and his Family.
