    So glad to see How to Do Fashion patterns! I’ve had my eye on the Vanløse pattern in particular because of the vintage vibe, and I love the pockets you added. As always, I love your garments!

    Rebecca, all your makes great. My favorite is the periwinkle/lavender beach dress. The combination colors and silhouette perfect. I just finished a wrap skirt and will start on a top. As I make an outfit, I will remove a store bought that I no longer wear. I appreciate your comments that you include with each outfit. That’s where I get those tips and tricks. Thank.

    I always get excited when you post a video Rebecca😃. 29:09 What a beautiful comfy looking outfit. It's my fave! The pants look much better. You did a great job with the alterations. 13:50 You used bias tape for the armhole. Have you tried to French Seam the armholes? I recently made a modified version of the Butterick 4659 button down shirt and I used French Seams around the armholes. It was my first time sewing sleeves in the round (had only sewn flat), but watching Sew Essential's video "How to FS an Armhole" made everything simple. My goal is to only wear 100% me made clothes and undergarments using only natural fibers like cotton, linen, silk and wool. Right now I am working on spring/summer garments.

      Thanks so much! I just love how that look turned out! I’m so glad I took the time to redo those pants. I was originally going to use French seams but the gauze was so fiddly to work with so I went with bias instead. I love your goals! Those are my ideal fabrics to wear. Have fun sewing!

    Ooh, I always love your roundup videos! I can't wait for the destination capsule video, even though I'll be going to Italy this summer, rather than France 😊
    I don't have enough seasonally appropriate memades to wear only them, so I'm trying to focus on wearing something me made as often as I can manage, and work on a me made item each day, even if it's a few stitches on my current knitting or crochet makes, when I don't have the time, energy or inclination to sew.

      Thanks so much! I do have a video for Italy in the works for June! We were originally planning a trip for that month but it got postponed until next year. MMM is great even if you only have a few things me made. My first year I think I pledged wearing 3 items a week. It’s taken quite a while to create a fully handmade wardrobe. Have fun creating!

    You made some great things in April. Love the cream pants and reversible cami. I have been challenging myself to wear as much me made as I can. So far this month I mended and did some seam finishes on a hawaiian inspired vintage shirt I got free at the thrift store. I loved the fit and print but some of the seams were coming apart. I showed it to the sales person and asked for a discount. She told me to just take it....wow! So I now consider it a me made upcycle.

      That’s awesome- Thrifted finds are the best! I often do mending and repairs to my me mades in May too! Thanks Ami!

    Love your sewing and the colors. I do wonder why you put the zipper in the back of your pants?It seams like the hardest place to get to and so many times of unzipping to use restroom. It’s hard to cheek if the zipper is zipped up

    • @SewPomona
      @SewPomona  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I prefer side zips but that often interferes with pockets so back zip is my second choice. I personally prefer the cleaner finish and less bulk at center front. That’s one of my favorite things about sewing we can switch up anything we want to make it work for us. Thanks for watching!

    Your clothes are beautifully made Rebecca. It's so much fun to watch you showcasing your makes. Question about the striped linen trousers? You stated that the selvages were at the hem? So that means that the pants were cut on the crossgrain? Correct? So the stripes ran horizontally when folded on the lengthwise grain? Now, since the fabric is linen and has a lot of give (particularly when laundered...and you said that it's recycled fabric) I'm guessing that even if (though) the pants were cut on the crosswise grain, they still have plenty of give for wearing ease? It certainly looks like it. Also, thanks for the idea of using the selvage edge for the waistband. Great idea when using the linen. I wonder how it would work if a more tightly woven fabric is used, say like a jean denim? Might have to do a few experiments on that.

    • @SewPomona
      @SewPomona  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question Kay! Because my linen has that recycled content there is very little stretch so cross grain is fine. I’ve used the selvedge in this way often for pants and jeans and it works really well. As long as all your pieces are cut using the same grain line you should be good. You only need to watch it if your fabric has more stretch. Thanks for watching!
