    Great advice. I’d gone through so many videos and forums all about shut offs etc. Saw this and was very doubtful it was going to make a difference after so many tries. turns out mine was stuck too! Was in shock when it all started working. Such a help, I’m in Texas during this bad winter storm with the city water down so was much needed thank you!

    Thanks for the info. Very helpful. I checked all this but was not my issue. I found the connection to the water tank was lose. As well as the drain plug next to it. I purchased my RV used. Last owner tried putting putty around both connection. I removed all of it, pipe taped and tightened. Finally, problem solved.

    Brand new RV, same problem different issue. Turns out the fresh water tank has to be full, not 1/3 full, to adequately prime the pump. Must have to have enough driving pressure to push the air out of the pump.

    Turned out to be exactly the same issue. Thanks for posting this. You learn something new every day. Found out I also have a winterizing hose attachment. THAT job will be a whole lot easier this fall. I give you 5 👍👍👍👍👍 up. Thanks again. I wonder if a little silicone grease around that opening would fix the issue for good. I used a smidge on a tap valve replacement as advised by an rv service guy. Said it was non toxic so... might be a good idea next time it gets stuck.

    Thanks! This was my problem. Also when you have the pump apart the poppet pushes in, not pulls out. Hard to tell when it's stuck. One other point is I think I may have caused this myself. I have a Durango Gold with the big water manifold panel. I do recall in the manual it saying something about not turning the valves a certain way with city/well pressure against the pump system which I think I may have accidentally done and thus caused the issue of accidentally pressuring the outlet side of the pump.

    Thanks for the video. I bought a travel trailer from a company that rented their trailers out. The owner says they pulled the 10 Amp fuse from the hot wire on the pump. Wondering if when you plugged the red wire back in if that was what I'm looking for?

    • @MountaineerOutdoors

      If you are looking for the fuse it's probably in the panel mine is under my refrigerator.

  • @ThePalmiterfamily1
    @ThePalmiterfamily1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not sure if my valve is stuck because it will suck in water through the winterizing tube.
    .. and water from the winterizing will flow through the spigots. But when we close off the winterizing spicket we get no water pressure anywhere in the RV.
    So if it was a stuck valve then it wouldn't even work drawing in antifreeze as well? I think we have an air lock air leak somewhere.

    I found the same thing in mine, the valve got stuck over winter. Saved buying another $85 pump. I could not just push the valve, had to hit it with a small hammer!!

    You said hot water dry camping how do you do that, I just recently started to use plumbing service in my camper. So if you are plug into city systems I have hot
    water.
    But if you’re dry camping how to get hot water from the holding tank to your hot water tank.

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will pump into your hot water tank when you turn the hot side of the faucet on. My suggestion is to not turn on your hot water heater until you have water coming out of the hot water side that way you know it is in your water tank. Just like at home never turn on your water heater until it's full of water.

      @rejmonwilson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mountaineer Outdoors so if the camper is not hooked up to city water and the fresh water holding tank is full of water,
      I can use my hot water and the water pump will pump water from fresh water holding tank, the hot water tank to the faucets?, reason I am asking this is I live in Canada and the provincial park only has electricity not water.
      The private camp grounds has full hook up.

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will work. Just like you said.

    Just a reminder to everyone that you do not want to put any bleach in your black tank including any sanitizer water because it will kill off the bacteria and enzymes in the tank that breaks down the waste and paper in the tank. Either run the sanitizer water through your lines and faucets until empty or run the water for a few minutes after the pink is gone and then empty the fresh water tank via your low point valve until empty and then close the low point and refill the tank without bleach. Only then should you run water into the toilet.

    • @tinaburch1615
      @tinaburch1615 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So what if you already put bleach in the black water tank?

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just wash it out it will be ok. And then use your happy camper or whatever else you use to help break down solids and smells

    Mine sometime cycles up to 10 times! I checked the strainer, - good and no leaks. It it standard for these pumps to go one up to 5 times after you use water? Or do you think the pressure regulator is st too low? Thank you.

    My friend I am going through the same thing the only problem is my both my sinks are not working the kitchen sink works and the toilets work but the bathroom the two bathroom sinks do not work nor does the shower water work so this is funny I have water in my kitchen sink but I don't have water in my two bathroom sinks and my shower is not working my toilets work perfectly fine I don't know what's going on

    • @MountaineerOutdoors
      @MountaineerOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that sounds weird. Maybe the pump isn't working at full capacity. And only has enough power to push water thru some of the sinks etc. Or not sure where you live but could be that there is some ice due to the cold weather and that's why it is not working
