Hey guys, This isn't the video I wanted to upload this weekend. Some suspension parts I ordered from Germany have been delayed, which knocked my plans back a bit. However, next week's video should be awesome. Subscribe so you don't miss it! Cheers Sam
@@hazlow25 Good question Sean! I've not driven an L405 but I can imagine they are everything we love about the 322 and more. Styling/looks wise however, I definitely prefer the L322. I think it's much more distinctively a Range Rover. And has aged incredibly well. Even the very early 2002 cars still look great.
I definitely agree. I prefer how the L322 looks inside. I'm going to get a low mileage 2012 tdv8 sometime in march/April. Although I really do like the 2010 3.6 too. Watch this space lol
Hi Sam thanks for your new vid. I’m between Land Rovers at the moment and watching your videos have made realise I need to get back in one although ill probably opt for another diesel sport again. On another subject I was wondering what software you find best to create your characters on your thumbnails? I have a scuba diving channel and liked your thumbnails. Thanks, Ian
Thanks Sam - just bought a 60 reg Vogue 4.4 tdv8 and this is the first 'improvement' I've made. One small point - the genuine LR kit is only £18.03 Inc vat, but your Amazon link goes to one bring sold at £35! I was about to buy my two via the link, but decided to check with the local LR main dealer. Glad I did! Keep the vids on the L322 4.4 coming - it was your channel that made up my mind to get one 👍
Thanks for this video. I have just replaced both key fobs. It is straightforward when someone shows you in detail how it is done. Without the video I suspect I would have broken something.
So glad I found this one after two previous videos with poor lighting and focus 😫. Getting the final piece off to free the spring assembly is awkward but so much easier to see in this video. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video. Both my l322 Westminster keys were gone. Bought the official Land Rover part for just £17 + pp. got a lovely new fob now following this
Just replaced both my key fob cases today. One had evidently been opened before as the end button spring was all bent to hell and the flat metal plate at the other end was missing completely. Both keys still work so I'm pleased with the result. This video was very helpful.
Just did this - ordered 2 from Aliexpress, 26 Euro total, perfect fit, casing does not have those rubber covers and feels sturdier than OEM. No more broken-off pieces rattling inside your key...
You can also use the much smarter looking and smaller fob from the L494, Evoque etc on the L322 of this year - It's easy to add a key on the 2010 onwards L322, if you have the right tool. Removing is obviously a very different story :) You can pick the newer type key fob up on eBay for about 60quid.
I did this to my two keys, bought two new cases from LandRover then got Timpsons to replace the batteries for life system. £70 later for everything including batteries for life working brilliantly! 🚗🚗🚗😋🤪🤓🇬🇧🏴
@@SamsMotors took delivery half an hour ago and all completed and looks great. My original key was a spitting image condition wise to yours. Thanks again for the video. Going to spend the rest of the afternoon perusing your uploads. 👍🏻
About to do both of my keys for my 2010 5L Supercharged Autobiography this afternoon. This is my 3rd RR and the keys have been pretty ropey on all of them. I did spot some carbon fibre fobs yesterday that looked sweet, but by then I had already ordered the others 🙄
You could have thought about upgrading to the newer slimline keyfob rather than a like for like. My 2010 Sport has that same heavyweight key but I upgraded to the later RR fob type. The pcb is a straight swap into the new style casing with only minor chamfering of one corner required. Much lighter in the pocket!
Hi Sam, do you have a link to the housing replacement. I have the same key for my 12 reg rr with 60k and my key doesn't look much better than yours. What were they thinking?
Love your videos, I have a 2013 model RRSport not even close i suppose but I've subbed anyways nice content . Mine is currently kicking me hard in the nether regions . Lol whats new . Worst and best car I've ever owned all at the same time. 🤣
Thanks for the sub! I've never driven a Sport but I bet they've got all the same amazing traits that the Full Fat has. 2013 must be the very last of the L320?
@@SamsMotors More in common with the discovery really. Great car nonetheless. Always loved the styling so got the best one I could find took a while . But worth it . Even tho I still question the wisdom sometimes . Like yourself I went in eyes wide open . Anyways best of luck with the channel .
Really frustrating video. Couldn't even tell how to separate halves. Camera needs to be much closer and fixed on where the screwdriver touches and bears on the case

Just out of interest. If you had the money would you buy an L405 range rover or keep the L322

I did this to my two broken keys and results were amazing, such a simple improvement and keys now look brand new!

Glad I could help!
Good video, a reminder to rotate your keys if you can to even out the wear and stop the battery going on the 'spare' key whilst it sits in a drawer.

Glad it helped, makes a lovely improvement eh?
@@SamsMotors Yep. Those rubber covers are nasty.
Thanks mate! Just sorted this on our 2011 Vogue SE. 4K is a godsend on a video like this.
You're welcome!
Just done one of my keys and it was an easy job after watching this!
Thanks for this Sam, great vid, got the key fob cheaper at LR Parts, 2 x for less than the Amazon option. Did 2 in 10 minutes, very easy!
Fantastic!

Cheers John, maybe I'll look into this as an upgrade.
Has the smaller fob for my l320 sport. I don’t feel it’s as commanding as or a better quality than the larger l322 key

Awaiting my replacement fob so will be watching this again hopefully this afternoon to fit.
Nice touch treating the sides to a bit of Braso. 👍🏻
Mine are still looking good 3 years later 👌🏻🫡

Great video - thank you. I have just replaced my case whilst watching along.
Great stuff! Glad it helped!
Saw your vid and ordered one on eBay, very pleased with the result 👍
Got an 07 SC with the non flip key that I need to sort at some point and still enjoyed this :) keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed it! More coming...
I will definitely be doing this soon, as I’ve just purchased an L322 and I’m sure the key or keys will be manky. Thanks for a quality video!
Worked a treat - thank you!
Glad it helped!
Hi Sam. The internals from those keys can be swapped over into the newer type keys, which look smarter and are smaller and lighter
And you don't even need to swap the internals over with the 2010 and later vehicles, you can just program them to the car :)
@@JohnBaxendale yeah but it’s cheaper and easier to just swap the circuit board over
Thanks for the upload just ordered a replacement
Glad I could help!

Excellent video. It's time i replaced my keys as they are both de-laminating...
Had to do the same with a Disco 4
Very useful video! Thanx for uploading.
Most welcome!
thanks Sam key purchased and a smile every time i pick up my keys.......stupid really :)
It's the little things eh?!
Great channel
Great thank you

Yeah I've heard you can do this. I do quite like these chunky keys though, they suit the Rangie quite well! Ah well, maybe an upgrade for another day.
Brilliant
Hi Sam, what is exactly the name of the hycote spray that you use ? Michel
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Changed mine definitely better than land rovers.

Hi bud, you can get them here from Amazon: amzn.to/2Lu4u3R
It's just one of those Land Rover things I'm afraid!
Nice..... I have key envy ;-)
Will you need to reprogram the key after having the battery out?
No, the key code is stored in the BCM in the car. The key always keeps its coding.
Is that the original key of the Range Rover L322? Mine is looking different.
Yeah for 2009-12. The earlier keys are different, and so are the later ones.
Awww man i Lost the spring 😂

Stop putting these videos up your making me want to buy one.
Haha! Sorry (not sorry)!
You didn’t show it actually working.
Apologies! You can rest assured that it works absolutely fine.
Made in China ?
Most probably!
Really frustrating video.
