-At 1:52 that clip wasn't supposed to be there... oops -Like I put in the beginning disclaimer, I am not responsible for any mistakes you might make if you attempt this yourself. It's not easy work and so much trial & error went into me getting this good at it. -People always ask how long it lasts, but the answer depends on a hundred variables. I just say, it wont deteriorate all at once; it will deteriorate slowly over the course of 2 to 5 years, but it might not be ugly enough to recoat until about 8 to 10 years. -In the video, I actually watered-down the primer coat more than I usually do. Don't water it down quite as much as you see me doing in this video. I'd say roughly 70% epoxy, 30% water is just fine.
you power wash that one time its done also after one cold and worm season chance its cracked again ....waste of time and money unless ur selling the house trying to rip someone off ..lol
Awesome video and thanks for sharing your knowledge. This is something I've been wanting to do for a few years now and I think this summer it will happen. What brand and type of mortar did you use for filling in the larger gaps?
No problem! I'm happy to help! :) I work indoors during the winter. Sometimes simple interior painting, but also indoor plaster. If I am outdoors during the winter, it's just slower work. Other than that, more time indoors means more dedication to the white collar/book-keeping aspects of business as well as the TH-cam channel.
Where I live, a concrete with settling cracks (as you show in this video) would re-crack just few weeks after resurfacing. So now i am upfront with customers and tell them to keep into account the possibility of seeing again this cracks, but smaller than they where before.
Nothing replaces a base or primer coat. For any type of this work outside or inside. Good job. Using Epoxy is a little bit overkill, but the stuff is durable.
Question: can this process be used on a concrete drive that are slabs separated by pressure treated 2x4s? Can the 2x4s be covered. On ours they put concrete nails throughout the boards. Very difficult to remove.
Have you ever used cement all to fill the large cracks? Do you still use the same valspar driveway paint you used in the first resurfacing video that went viral?
I’ll need to do this over a period of days - even weeks, depending on the weather and other commitments. And because the driveway is in constant use, I’ll have to do one side and let it completely cure before doing the other side. Do you see any problems with this approach?
What if… You ground the concrete surface with a diamond concrete grinding wheel?. THEN? coat it. & I “get” that epoxy yellows when exposed to UV sunlight however- What if… You broadcast a grey or speckled vinyl flake to provide a little bit of distracting texture?. Also? There is acid-etch & perhaps even a stain that might work as a base.
That's only the case if you use the wrong mortar. Plus, covering crack repairs with epoxy greatly prevents the new mortar from popping out. My crack filling work has handled harsh winters and never bursted out.
According to Oregon Code 3.010, property owners are responsible for maintaining sidewalks and shared-use paths that abut their property. This includes keeping sidewalks safe for public use at all times. Property owners are liable for any injuries or damages that occur due to their neglect to maintain sidewalks.
I didn't even listen with the sound on... i kept saying to myself, that shits not going to cover where the cracks were repaired. It didn't. I was also thinking to myself, I hope you told the homeowner that anh type of over lay type products are just a temporary fix... And will need re-do in a year or two at minimum. Done ranting
Dude STOP IT. Without mechanical prep it's not gonna hold up long term ! Scarify, shotblast or diamond grind are the only way to prep. I do this stuff on a professional level and you sir don't know what your doing. Those cracks need to have their vertical sidewalls mechanical prepped. Your prep work DOES NOT MEET THE ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute) standards ! You probably aren't even aware such an organization exist ! You even mention " small sections my peel" my God ! Mechanical prep and use an arcylic fortified cement resurfacer. Top coat with that low solid water based epoxy if you want. GEEZE.....

@@ronmit-p5g You're not supposed to pressure wash painted driveways. I make sure to tell all my clients that.
@@claybannermasonryGreat work, what do you charge for a driveway like the one in the video?
@@RoscoPColtrane17 That size, about $2,500 or so.
@@claybannermasonry I understand. Thank you for responding. Great work, wish your company well.
This is great! Thank you for sharing your skills and expertise.
You betcha 😊
Awesome job Clay! I just finished my driveway since you were too busy to come up to Seattle.
Thanks once again
I would have liked to have seen a list of products you used.
Awesome video and thanks for sharing your knowledge. This is something I've been wanting to do for a few years now and I think this summer it will happen. What brand and type of mortar did you use for filling in the larger gaps?
I did just like you did and it works thank you
Bro thank you for putting this up!! Appreciate you!! What do you do in the winters?
No problem! I'm happy to help! :)

Awesome video, I wish you were in Florida so I could hire you to do a similar repair, sadly my days of back bending are over.

Fascinating! How does the epoxy hold up for multiple vehicles and/or large, heavyweight SUV's? Thanks.
I’m tired 😂😂😂😂 😂 he is patient and hardworking
Great Video! Wish you were closer to us (Seattle area)!
Awesome video
Just got onto your channel. Very informative. Thanks I’ll give mine a go.
Nice job
Are you located in North Carolina or near by?
Really liked the video. Could you please post links for all the materials that you used? Makes a hug diff. Thanks. Love your channel!
Hi I have an old pebblecrete or exposed concrete driveway. Will this product work?
Would this work on painted surfaces or what you recomend I really like your work . Thanks
I want to do this, but im not sure how to deal with expansion joints in the driveway

What is the custom mix for the mortar?
4 parts cement to 1 part sand to 1 part pubes
Can this be done for older tennis courts?
Yes
What does this level of restoring cost?
What do you charge for something like that? I own a pressure washing and staining and sealing business and I would like to add that
£35,000
Question: can this process be used on a concrete drive that are slabs separated by pressure treated 2x4s? Can the 2x4s be covered. On ours they put concrete nails throughout the boards. Very difficult to remove.
To my surprise; yes! I've done that before and it works just fine. 😊
Yes
Would an oil based stain be more durable?
How long this will be last? There are not strong bond in the cracks.
What mortar do you use?
Have you ever used cement all to fill the large cracks? Do you still use the same valspar driveway paint you used in the first resurfacing video that went viral?
Did it last?
What epoxy and primer did u use for this project I’m thinking about doing something like this ?
BEHR one-part epoxy is the way to go! :)
Can we see this driveway after all this time? TIA
Is this in a climate that gets snow, ice and salt?
I’ll need to do this over a period of days - even weeks, depending on the weather and other commitments. And because the driveway is in constant use, I’ll have to do one side and let it completely cure before doing the other side. Do you see any problems with this approach?
Yes
Is there a way to change the color to something darker?
Yes
Yes theres darker epoxy colros and you can get a gray wood stain instead of white
Some big cracks in that driveway. We’re they addressed? 🇦🇺👍🍺

Can you get a color that looks more like real fresh concrete?
What’s an approximate cost per square foot for a driveway like this? or a price range per square foot?
$4 to $5 per square foot :)
that would last 1 winter in the UK, the ice would break the concrete.
Winter in UK, maybe on the North. Because on The South is no proper winter, just rain.
The resurfacer play lil pop and crack off in time
👍👍👍
The big chunks of mortar will never hold up over time. It will shrink then crack then start popping off.
That's only the case if you use the wrong mortar. Plus, covering crack repairs with epoxy greatly prevents the new mortar from popping out. My crack filling work has handled harsh winters and never bursted out.
Are you in the Atlanta area?
Sidewalk is only grey area for people who do not realize it is city property.

Yeah but they make you fix it
No shit
Acrylic should have been used

Rip it out and redo it
$8k+ for that size depends on where you live.
