- I don't make a habit of emptying my wallet at the auction, but today was an exception. There was that larger newer manure spreader, and that Farmall 756 diesel I just had to have, or did I? There's lots of cool old equipment here!

The manure spreader I understand. In previous videos, you talked how you needed a bigger one. But why buy another tractor??? You already own so many of them and you can only drive one at a time. You often talk about how thrifty you have to be when owning a farm, but aren't you letting your passion for tractors get the best of you in spending so much hard earned money on yet an another tractor? And this is not even taking into account the work and parts it will need to work properly. I don't see why you need this one. Please help me understand.
Hi Ranger, I have been looking for another "large" tractor for about a year. I will explain why in the next video, as well as how whatever tractor I find will not be an "additional" tractor.

I’ll guess why. He always wanted and needed the 656 on loader duty. Baling hay with a loader sucks. So the 756 be baling hay and he can leave it hooked up while the 656 can a loader and remove bales from the field. Clearly every implement needs a dedicated tractor. Lol

It’s a beautiful IH tractor. 310 German diesel is a bullet proof engine. 10,000 + engine hours not a problem. Go for it Pete. Crops are green, tractors are red. 👍

My hubby has the exact same tractor, the international , built 1972 and it works perfectly!756 with hidraulc bucket in the front and cabin !

I surprised the 140 went so cheap and the Super AV sold for more. Tune in tomorrow for the exciting conclusion of Pete empties his wallet! 😂 I swear Mr. Larson looks more like and older brother rather than Mr. Pete's Dad.
I had a 756 with the 310 diesel it was a very dependable tractor used it on the haybine and a 4 row planter it always had plenty of power never really had any problems with it for 15 years pretty good on fuel I had a small farm 42 acres 10 into hay the rest I rotated between corn and soybeans. It had a farmhand loader on it wish I would of kept it now that I’m retired it was real handy.
just curious, how old are you? were you a full time farmer? this guy is throwing around lots of money. i realize by watching his videos that he is real smart. how much can a small farm make? seems alot dont make it.
@@farnorthhomested844 I am 62 years old only part time farmed wanted to raise my own hay for the 5 horses we had the land I put into crops after expenses did pay for my property taxes it was poor sandy land in western Wisconsin I grew up on a farm and enjoyed doing it I didn’t raise all the cattle, pigs & poultry like Pete does I had 120 acres total rest was in woods

You did fine with that spreader. An auction around here last week saw a smaller, newer, but similar condition rig go for around $8000. Seems crazy! I'm betting you bought the tractor. Can't wait to find out!
Pete if you can find the top fan beater for that spreader it turns it from a good spreader into a great spreader, I've heard they are hard to find! The 756 diesel is great, growing up i loved sitting on the fender hearing the governor roar when its all wound up!
Between Pete and his dad, I imagine they could make one!

@@brycewiborg8095 that's good what did you get planted potatoes and onions and things ground was a little frozen this morning here the turkey water dish was froze solid I just turned the heater off in it the other day still a little too wet to do any field work with all the snow flying here last night probably won't be until May until we get any corn planted maybe I'm wrong have a good Easter weekend Bryce 👍

Auction season is my favorite time of year. Was able to snag a 560 gas last Saturday to start our own hay production!

Prices are high right now. Crop prices are up so everyone is spending money.

I ended up with 25 horses and started a horse business that ran for 20 years.

I love looking at auction videos. Here where i live there are no consigment auction and almost all auctions are internet only
A great feeling is when you have the high bid, the pause and moment of silence, then they point at you and say sold !

Funny you are after a 756, that was my grandpas favorite tractor on our farm. I am currently in the process of restoring my family’s 756 with the same d310 motor. After watching your videos I had built up the courage to try and do it and I’m so glad I finally did. After lots of reading, researching, thinking, getting aggravated, but most importantly learning, I finally finished rebuilding the motor completely. I’d say it was a pretty good job for a 16 year old but hey I’m biased 🤷🏻♂️😂

I used to work for a farm auctioneer as a hand, and I always loved to listen to the auctioneers song. When I had the chance, of course, because most of the time while they were selling, I was on the forklift or winch truck loading.
Any IH rig I love, but there is something about the 66 series that I just love. That grill is just iconic.

Wonderful video, brought back memories of helping my uncle on his dairy farm. I learned how to plow with a 5 bottom plow hooked to his 856. I loved running that 856, and it was very fuel efficient.
Wow used prices are nuts! We ran a 1256 for years still miss that beauty!

Nothing like a good auction spent with dad. Yes, it took a while to get to stuff you were after, there was a lot of stuff there. I worked with dad on a super c and bringing an H home from down the road. H had rotted rims and tires, we have a set of rims and tires that hold air we got last week. Ended up putting the rear rims on, the front ones we bought were evidently from another year. Hope u enjoyed the auction
