I pulled a lot of context from other weapon reviewers too, but your attitude gave me the confidence to put it all into practice. I went from full to 450 with no regrets! Thanks to you both.
Regarding the Adept convo: I think a good revamp for Adepts would be giving each specific Adept weapon a unique perk combo that the reg version can’t get. Example: regular Rufus can get Target Lock or Hatchling but the Adept can do Target Lock AND Hatchling. Just a thought.
That would make crafting the weapons kind of useless. It should be closer to +15 or +20 through the adept mods but keeping the rest the same way, that would make grinding Master Raids and GMs better. Having two perks at the same time sounds too good to be true, imagine how strong some weapons could be, specially heavy rocket launchers (Bait and Switch + Explosive Light muahahahaha)
@@juanjodpr I don’t think it would have any impact on crafting. Basically it would just mean “Rufus Regular can get perk combo X + Y while Rufus Adept can get X + X” meaning nothing changes from the way things are currently. **sigh** I need Datto to go through my vault and clear shit out. I have piles of useless gear. My "you never know" is just too powerful for my own good.
I am cleaning my own vault as I watch this. Being a PvE main with minimal PvP use makes it a LOT easier. Also, there are so many weapons in my Vault that I am not getting rid of simply due to Artifact rotation. Pulse and Scout Rifles may be trash right now, but once they rotate back into the Artifact I would definitely regret getting rid of my god-roll Psi Hermetic or Battle Scar. What is really clogging my Vault right now is 1810s that are there just for infusions, so I need to go through and infuse a bunch of stuff. Not like I am hurting for Upgrade Modules either, been drowning in those for 2 seasons now since our power level hasn't gone up for almost a year now.
I have made an effort to keep: 1. Sunset weapons with significant kill stats that I loved using or still use for unchallenging content (basically trophies/memories) 2. Every weapon I craft 2.a. Deepsight harmonizer candidates (if I need 3 patterns, I keep 3, etc.) 3. One of every archetype per damage type 4. Removed/unrollable perks (ex: Concussion Grenades) 5. Lackluster perks that might get buffed in another season (this paid off huge when Shoot to Loot could also gather orbs) 6. Only one of each exotic armor, optimized builds Despite this, I'm sitting at ~580 vault items.
Datto ever tells me to delete my Chroma Rush i might cry. I'm so emotionally attached to that weapon and if im not running quicksilver its my go to auto rifle. Sure, I have 3 but they're all really good!
Sun bracers didn’t get touched because they have a clear weakness and they are not great for bossing Bonk is significantly easier to pilot while getting a ton of free buffs and is still very strong unlike a lot of non starter builds Which is where we should put a lot more attention on as a community
wdym it's not great for bossing, it's not top tier dps but it's still respectable dps for gjally/tractor duties with no ammo requirements. I often do more damage with sunbracers+gjally than my dps buddies on dungeons. it's not great for raids (especially old ones), but it's still extremely broken. I love my broken shit, but I've not swapped off sunbracers since lightfall, they're good at everything and they sadly need a nerf
@@ahreuwu You just described why it’s not great. If you are out DPS’ing anybody on that setup then they simply aren’t doing much DPS in the first place I not here to argue about it either. My focus is trash builds/exotics/supers that are overshadowed or useless They should be giving us fresh abilities that give us more options and not just focusing on the few that work well
It's ok to admit you have a problem Nomad, we're here for you, it's ok to ask for help. Remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
regarding the Adept weapon conversation, the way in my mind to fix adepts and crafting at the same time is to remove enhanced perks from crafting. then make any weapon able to be “enhanced” by investing in the weapon and updating the perks that rolled on it. Then with Adepts you have the system you have now where you can enhance and change the barrel/mag perks and masterwork. That way you have the accessible weapon from crafting, random rolls will be worth more b/c of enhanced perks, and adepts will be worth the most because of their flexibility. But even with all of that nothing is insanely out of bounds. it gives you a reason to chance the bigger stuff but doesn’t punish you overmuch if you can’t run the activities or get the roll you want
This is why I use DIM instead of D2AP for loud outs. DIM will tell you if your loadout will benefit from any new piece you acquire or can see on a vendor
My problem is not only am I mostly an armor hoarder, but I also took away the ability to clean my vault based on power level... because being a diligent hoarder, I raised power level of EVERYTHING to 1810..FML
I think Datto would have an aneurism looking at my vault: almost always at 600, too many dupes, 11 immortals (both normal and adept), 5 messengers (mix if adept and normal), 6 spare rations, 13 Unending Tempests, 7 shayuras, 5 Funnelwebs, 10 Unforgivens (I’ve cut down), 11 Exalted Truths, 7 Harsh Truths, 7 No survivors, 5 Age-Old bonds (all fully crafted with enhanced perks and three of them have over 10,000 kills), 4 nation of beasts, 20 Igneous Hammers (adept and normal) and finally 5 Stormchasers, no weapon that has less that 5 copies were mentioned. And two pages of armour, and all three characters full of masterworked armour.
However though one could argue having the end game content have amazing loot would actually casual's/new players something to actually strive to and aspire for. It would add a new sense of meaningful progession to a game thats been lacking it for far too long
Regarding adepts, I know they aren’t exactly everyone’s first pick for a daily driver (a Cammycakes way of talking about guns you rely on most), but if I may offer a hot take, I’m still of the belief they have value outside of offering an incentive for people to open flawless chests and farm GMs for a day or two. No, I’m not referring to them as a source of pride, though they obviously can be. This is a long explanation, so this is your warning for those who hate long comments. Side tangent: I saw someone a few weeks ago say they consider adepts an outdated weapon class, and they were right about how dated they are since they’re originally a D1 concept, but I’d argue there’s a difference between dated and bad. (They started around Beyond Light’s release, for context.) Anyway, one thing I see in them is their ability to be the “middle man” of weapon tiers for people to have who, for example, don’t raid. They’re better than their normal counterparts, but generally feel inferior to a maxed out crafted roll. If you’re looking for the best of the best, that fact may not be enough, but we also have to remember that they intentionally leave out a lot of guns from the crafting table to spread out weapons to chase, and they tend to load a bunch of said adepts with perk combos that they know people who like to look for the best of the best will go after them anyway. Even if you have a crafted version of a similar item, having an adept version of it will still be capable. Case in point: the Forbearance is the gold standard of PvE wave frames, but if you find an adept Undercurrent with Voltshot, you’ll still get the job done in most cases. Another thing to consider is that adept versions of guns (especially some Trials guns) can be jacked up with high base stats because their normal counterparts are just as jacked. That alone can be a consideration for some, because having a strong set of stats can truly enhance the feel of a gun in your hands. A lot of normal legendaries, including some of their crafted editions, may need help to be able to achieve that. That’s the kind of tradeoff you make between these weapon classes, but we play this game enough to know that this does matter. Another case in point: perk combos and favorable archetype aside, a key reason the Immortal has dominated as much as it has is because its stat package is absurdly high compared to most aggressive SMGs. We didn’t need to craft it to shit on opponents with it. Same is true for Exalted Truth. It’s almost exactly a Trials version of Palindrome. Lastly, the fact they come with multiple perks at once is both a good RNG mitigator and a chance for people to have multiple strong rolls for the price of one. In many instances, the former reason is what people would prefer, including myself, but the latter is a kind of cherry on top that many other guns can’t get, with the exception of ritual drops, the occasional holiday stuff, a lucky lost sector run, and a few seasonal bonuses here and there. Speaking for myself, I played Trials last weekend to knock out the seasonal challenge, and I ended up going flawless. (It was a 7-2 passage where the last 3 wins had to be in a row.) Early on, I got an Incisor with Perpetual Motion and Tap the Trigger, and I was eager to play with it sooner or later. I also was interested in eventually getting one with Kill Clip, since it is the first trace to get it and I was curious if I’d like that. The adept Incisor I got from the chest had all 3 of those perks. I was definitely stoked at that kind of luck. (Another side tangent: I tried it in zone control the day after and earned a we ran streak, so I’m already willing to keep it around.) It’s not necessarily something everyone is gonna do or has to do to succeed at the game, but there’s no denying the opportunity exists, and it allows adepts to have multiple use cases or niches instead of just one general purpose. Hell, I’d even say a weird reason for liking adepts is to fulfill the crowd who likes winning the RNG battle and believes crafting killed the desire to chase good items and want to see random rolls feel more relevant. (This is something I heavily disagree with, but that’s a different conversation altogether.) However, I’m trying to make an argument for them based on capability, not on someone’s views of the consequences of a crafting system. Hopefully I did just that.
Not the Trust! I myself have been grinding gambit to find another incandescent roll and it’s been painful trying to find another decent roll of that weapon
The way I address choosing what armour to keep is to prioritise stats where I avoid using the expensive mods (Resil for all classes, + Recov for Warlocks). if I can get to max Resil for all classes without mods, all the better. That's for the top stats bucket. Disc, Strength, Intel for the bottom bucket in that order.
AN: No one wants to play raid with me- everyone hates it! D: What? Kingsfall? I like Kingsfall! AN: okay. BROOOOOTHER! The Jabrony Squad + Datto doing a road with ASCENDANT?!? Dude what a great time!
2:00 THIS! This is exactly the type of mindset we need! Everyone keeps whining about not having enough vaultspace when they keep filling their vaults with crap!
Followup on Datto's advice on managing armor: make builds using Optimize armor within DIM and save those in DIM itself, instead of using D2armor picker. Reason: whenever you get a new armor with spikes you think you can use, throw it in the vault. Then go to manage loadouts in DIM. It'll analyze all the loadouts with the optimize parameters your defined and check if any of them will actually benefit from the new armor. If it does increase your stat tier, it shows up as "Better Stats Available" button in DIM. Just hit that, swap armor, save the loadout. DONE. It makes managing armor so much easier. And on top of it, you can use the 'Triage' tab on all your armor pieces or type '-is:inloadout' to check what pieces you are using or not. Throw whatever you're not using as Datto suggests and enjoy playing Destiny, and not D2 inventory manager 2.0.
I love how this turns into a reflective therapy session REAL quick around @3:00 haha @Datto PUH-LEASE HELP me my dude. I feel like although it is REASONABLY full of non-sunset silver/gold tier stuff I can still go without a lot of it 😅
If anyone has problems with armor for a build, if you put on focusing mod on your ghost and focus for season of the witch armor (either randomly or an specific piece) you'll get very good stated armor with a good spike in at least the stat that you want (and hopefully on others that you want), I did that for my titan and warlock and helped me to overcome my shitty exotic rolls and replaced some of my armor that I used for builds for a long time. You need a good amount of season of the witch engrams but come on, you get those just by playing so don't worry about it.
Rewatching this four months later and I got to him hovering over Final Warning saying it was the best gun in the game. No joke? It's busted. It hits like a heavy weapon on marked ADS shots, and on a Swarmers build you can lean into suspend, threadlings, tangle detonations, and unravel. I have 15k PVE kills and the vast majority has been from Legend Onslaught over the last two weeks.
I struggle with keeping up with my vault... i wish i could have a fellowship with someone like datto who was willing to help me whittle it down every so often...
I LOVE the concept of Recluse, MTT, Not Forgotten, as weapons that are clearly better and are obtained from overcoming serious (pvp) challenge, but they have to be better through skill. That's the point of putting them in the harder skill games. You must be better at the game to use them so your skill is what should be required to use their strength. Meaning, all these pinnacle weapons are just going to suck for novice players who got carried to them.
We definitely didn't film this the day before the new season. Nope. Couldn't be us.

@@IamSparlooI would literally do this. Sadly….
A boss that incentivized snipers: Insurrection Prime, to blow up the canisters. Would be very interesting if we got a reprised Scourge of the Past
**sigh** I need Datto to go through my vault and clear shit out. I have piles of useless gear. My "you never know" is just too powerful for my own good.
I think if Bungie would just sell vault space on Eververse they would instantly recoup those 45%.
Datto: I like kings fall
Nomad: ...ok
I have made an effort to keep:
1. Sunset weapons with significant kill stats that I loved using or still use for unchallenging content (basically trophies/memories)
2. Every weapon I craft
2.a. Deepsight harmonizer candidates (if I need 3 patterns, I keep 3, etc.)
3. One of every archetype per damage type
4. Removed/unrollable perks (ex: Concussion Grenades)
5. Lackluster perks that might get buffed in another season (this paid off huge when Shoot to Loot could also gather orbs)
6. Only one of each exotic armor, optimized builds
Despite this, I'm sitting at ~580 vault items.
Datto ever tells me to delete my Chroma Rush i might cry. I'm so emotionally attached to that weapon and if im not running quicksilver its my go to auto rifle. Sure, I have 3 but they're all really good!
Datto out here talkin' like a dad. "I want to see that content". 😆
has to be the best vault clean i have watched, loved it :D
Sun bracers didn’t get touched because they have a clear weakness and they are not great for bossing
Bonk is significantly easier to pilot while getting a ton of free buffs and is still very strong unlike a lot of non starter builds
Which is where we should put a lot more attention on as a community
wdym it's not great for bossing, it's not top tier dps but it's still respectable dps for gjally/tractor duties with no ammo requirements.
If you are out DPS’ing anybody on that setup then they simply aren’t doing much DPS in the first place
I not here to argue about it either. My focus is trash builds/exotics/supers that are overshadowed or useless
They should be giving us fresh abilities that give us more options and not just focusing on the few that work well
This vault is pretty similar to mine so it's a good comparison and helpful to decide what to get rid of
Love to Cafe' jazz music 🎶. Sets a chill vibe. Cleaning my house to this video and Datto cleans your vault 😅 🍻
It's ok to admit you have a problem Nomad, we're here for you, it's ok to ask for help. Remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
Whelp. Better go clean out my vault now
The energy of this video vs the ones with Jez is hilarious. Cooperation vs “for the memes.”
Firing line on yasmin is great with whisper! Great boss damage pairing!
The Supremacy exists. And even if it didn't, rapid fire frames in general are superior to adaptives for single target DPS.
regarding the Adept weapon conversation, the way in my mind to fix adepts and crafting at the same time is to remove enhanced perks from crafting. then make any weapon able to be “enhanced” by investing in the weapon and updating the perks that rolled on it.
I occasionally use the Aisha's embrace with adagio in PvP.
Hung Jury (Adept) with FF slaps. Nameless Midnight with Kinetic Tremors slaps.
"Your honour I think that means I win"
I would have kept the Trust, it's such a pain in the ass to farm since it's a Gambit weapon and that roll was hot
Aegis would actually be offended at the ammount of vorpal shotgun clowning
This is why I use DIM instead of D2AP for loud outs. DIM will tell you if your loadout will benefit from any new piece you acquire or can see on a vendor
That sounds really nice tbh Im just addicted to D2AP’s UI. Its so user friendly and pleasant to look at
Datto looks like a techeon here
My problem is not only am I mostly an armor hoarder, but I also took away the ability to clean my vault based on power level... because being a diligent hoarder, I raised power level of EVERYTHING to 1810..FML
That is so much gear lol. I can’t even imagine how many pinnacle drops that needed.
@@Ineedbout3fiddy Vault at 492 two all three characters full... So just a ridiculously long time
Deadpan is my One-Two Punch Shotgun of choice.
I got weak in the knees watching you delete that QD/Celerity Igneous with just no regard. Jesus man.
😅
However though one could argue having the end game content have amazing loot would actually casual's/new players something to actually strive to and aspire for. It would add a new sense of meaningful progession to a game thats been lacking it for far too long
just for the record, i loved the random trivia questions alright
Ive never felt more called out for having a sunset midnight coup chillin in my vault.
(They started around Beyond Light’s release, for context.)
Anyway, one thing I see in them is their ability to be the “middle man” of weapon tiers for people to have who, for example, don’t raid.
(It was a 7-2 passage where the last 3 wins had to be in a row.)
Early on, I got an Incisor with Perpetual Motion and Tap the Trigger, and I was eager to play with it sooner or later. I also was interested in eventually getting one with Kill Clip, since it is the first trace to get it and I was curious if I’d like that. The adept Incisor I got from the chest had all 3 of those perks. I was definitely stoked at that kind of luck. (Another side tangent: I tried it in zone control the day after and earned a we ran streak, so I’m already willing to keep it around.)
It’s not necessarily something everyone is gonna do or has to do to succeed at the game, but there’s no denying the opportunity exists, and it allows adepts to have multiple use cases or niches instead of just one general purpose.
Hopefully I did just that.
those pinnacle weapons were so fun and good, i loved having something to grind for
The celerity roll on igneous delete was interesting. Also I just watched datto use a sniper on the dungeon boss.
33:41 now you HAVE to make a video about the lodbrok-C
AN: No one wants to play raid with me- everyone hates it!
D: What? Kingsfall? I like Kingsfall!
AN: okay.
BROOOOOTHER! The Jabrony Squad + Datto doing a road with ASCENDANT?!? Dude what a great time!
Steady hand gang rise up!
Got a quick draw iron grip one and stats wise it’s still more consistent than a crafted round robin
50 degrees American is hilarious
“I’m not married to anything in here”
“You can’t take this away from me”
2:00 THIS! This is exactly the type of mindset we need! Everyone keeps whining about not having enough vaultspace when they keep filling their vaults with crap!
Future me to let you know do not delete your sunset weapons. It is a trap. Datto is the final shape!
“If you’re on strand and you’re not using quicksilver storm, what are you using?”
Uh… Monte? 👀
Storing exotic weapons in your vault that you can always pull from collections makes zero sense 😂
I love how this turns into a reflective therapy session REAL quick around @3:00 haha
@Datto PUH-LEASE HELP me my dude.
36:52 Tell me you love Quicksilverstorm without telling me you love Quicksilverstorm :D
"Just hit E for me" *sweats profusely*
Wilderflight is the best gl for Izzy-gl-rocket damage rotations
25:20 The problem with kings fall is it's such a long raid. Even when things go flawlessly it still takes a while.
These videos should just be called datto uses the socratic method with occasional nuggets of wisdom for extended periods of time
It's funny how Nomad says the pve tracker counts pvp kills to help save his baby @ 22:45.
I struggle with keeping up with my vault... i wish i could have a fellowship with someone like datto who was willing to help me whittle it down every so often...
Genuinely I'd only debate dismantling an Adept if my vault was FULL of Adepts
I'm wearing the same exact sweater that Nomad is wearing as I'm watching this
I just watched this man delete Adept weapons THAT COULD HAVE BEEN MADE INTO CRAFTED WEAPONS!!!
I watch these to get an idea of what weapons I have that I shouldn’t keep
Slickdraw + Gutshot = pointblank still miss
