Joe you should also look at the Element Enduro SE, the new trans is great, I have 25% overdrive with KNK gears in mine, trans makes it super easy, also in motor forward
FYI for those that maybe like myself and have several gen8’s around I have the new gen9 and the outer brass portal covers diff covers and overdrive from the gen8 will bolt right on and looks as the rear diff is exactly the same 3 piece design so the brass and underdrive should work there also .
Awesome run video and it is an awesome looking truck I have a question for you Joe do you believe the new driveshafts that treal made for the gen9 would work with a gen 8 recently broke one on my gen8 axe and I am a stickler for good quality parts I know about the boom racing badass drive shaft but the last I looked those were not in stock any help would be much appreciated thank you
I've seen a few guys complain about the shift
Stock servos are rated at 6.0 volts or less. Esc can do 7.4. Once up'n the rx voltage, it helps steering, but smokes the shift servo (& 99% of all air servos. I learned the hard way on a $400 pitts🤦♂️). I'd reckon after some use, shifting should be easier on the fly. Redcats 2spd is all new for them.
@Old-RC PLANE-phart a decent shift servo will fix the issues. Plus like you said 2 speed is new to redcat so it's their first attempt.

Everything 'new' will have issues. For example, the Sludge, scx6, etc
Mine is already jacked. Not even 5 mins into it and the trans seems to lock up when shifting high to low or vice versa
What radio and receiver is that?
Rc driver had same issue with two speed.
To be honest my friend background noise gave me a headache after a little while running some particular hurts or frequency that was just right for a headache and most likely I'm dehydrated
The gen8/9 generally have a lot of driveline noise. Sorry about that

Someone just posted a video of the new front universal that broke or maybe it came apart. Is there a grub screw holding these together or are we starting things off with a weak part again like the Gen8? Also, I saw SBG broke some front end plastic as well stating it might be brittle for high speed use.
Personally I’m getting metal axle that are already out well kind of everything In China shut down for Chinese New Year. So if you order it won’t be even looked at till February 1st. But the video & part that broke was because he shifted into high & because it’s fast it broke the the front axle part. So problem solved for me. It’s definitely a weakness no doubt we saw it first hand. Regardless it’s to nice of a Crawler to just cross off the list for a issue. If that was the case we’d have to cross all RC’s off our list because regardless of price or brand name everyone has issues. Atleast to people like us who are pretty picky & expect a lot for a RTR costing 400$ to 500$. Most normal people should think your nuts spending that much on a RC!
@@fishnrc294 Not crossing off list for now. I have Gen8 trucks. Love IH Scouts. Traxxas plastics always seem to beat everybody. Just wondering how the new front universal joint was in pieces on a Shorts video posted today. We're now at about 425.00 with tax for the Gen9. Not really the "deal" Redcat used to be.
