Good video. The house I just bought the previous owner built a special shed outside for the clothes dryer. Unheated, no lights and the electric dryer was fed by 10-2 romex "protected" by a 2 pole 40 amp breaker. Our winters can get down below zero. I agree with you, pipe dope is a lubricant as well as a sealant.
Dude you gotta find a way to get back there next year, if they even make it that long lol. Call that shit a "end of warranty inspection" on the gascock just to see the appliances.
I've recently had a front loader that didnt want to respond to control inputs because of water intrusion. Eventually a lightning storm finished it off. And I'm pretty sure it was the control panel board that fried. Saw light burn marks on it when I tore it appart.
Life's good till one morning the machine shocks you and you go down on your ass from the dew. The tech will be out in 6 months for the bearing failure and tell the customer too bad so sad not covered under warranty. As a tech I would not have touched it due to the liability.
Electronics outside in the rain What could go wrong?? That may have worked ok for analog equipment BUT those two will be lucky to survive the first major rain
So many guys use pro dope Think I worked some where and they brought out pro dope on setting finish Didnt like it so thats once in 37 years So watching you tube I see all you guys using it and saw it in lowes it was way cheaper than the others and said screw it . I dont think itll ever be my favorite but used on my gas water heater install yesterday I liked how the threads felt tighting up nipples and Im pretty flexible Ill use what I got but do usually have a few choices
Wos. Why an expensive washer and dryer outside in the elements. No need to worry about putting a vent on the dryer. Also being so open like that, a super small gas leak probably would not matter either. Those units wont lsdt long. Rain will damage tbe electronic control panels.
They think it's Stainless Steel and it won't rust! Little do they know it's Chinesium and will rust in about 6 hours being outside!! 🤣 That's one way to keep the China Government afloat!! BTW that electrical outlet needs to have a different cover on it. One that can close when it's in use!! I think they call them Bubble Covers now. Not sure. Also if these last for some amount of time, we can have a lint party from all the lint that thing is going to collect behind it!
Homeowners insurance would immediately cancel.....against code.....wouldnt touch that job
My momma said, "Stupid is as stupid does". Haha
How long are those un-weatherproof highly advanced electrical washer and dryer going to last? Can we count their longevity in days or weeks?
I wouldn't even touch some crazy ass s*** like that. don't want my name on that job

Omg that flared comment at 5:30 had me rofl!!
That is crazy leaving those machines out in the weather like that . They must have money to burn
Live and die by the tape and dope
Even when doing it live?
Thank you Home Depot

You would think there would be some kind of building code violation involved with the washer and dryer being installed at that location?
Your channel is "dope" yo! I watch it everytime you upload! This is the dopest plumbing channel.

pipe sealant promotes no leaks and no galling of threats...!

I think first good rain, both of those units are toast.

Great job 👍 no leaks 😺

I often wonder why people do some of the shit I run across.
Some of it baffles common sense.
I sure hope they are going to cover the units. I've always put a little dope on the flare, yes they do leak sometimes. Well done.
That washer and dryer will rust in less than a month being expsosed to the elements, how moronic.
Moral of the story is gas is sketchy as hell, live within your means and buy safer electrical appliances.
Gas appliances are safe if they're installed correctly.
@@bfsgmanAnd cheaper to run.

How long can electronic appliances last outdoors getting periodically rained on ? I guess time will tell ; )
I always put a little dope on the treads also never had trouble in35 years
There is no way that is Legal! I dont remember too much from school but i know water and electricity dont Mix!
Another great video but I must say you’re starting to sound like Steve Lav with all your dope comments! Keep up the good work! 😂👍🏼
