I'm impressed by the placement of the FR255, and the placement of the other Garmin offerings doesn't really come as a surprise.

Great detailed and quick overview. Surprised where the 945 landed but really it is reflective of how Garmin really shook the market with the new line. Wow.. Apple placed... in shock there given the continued struggle they have with battery life but yes they are at least paying more attention to the fitness needs.
The 255 should be higher Matt - like second place!! It has really put the market on its ear with so many of the higher end features/capabilities at a much lower price. Yes the 955 and Fenix are much more capable watches but at double the price. I love my 255. 255 is King for me given the price to capability trade off. No surprise though that Garmin owns the top spots which they should.
Regardless, awesome concise overview as always. Editing, content and presentation always on point and just love the channel.

Coros pace 2 here. Had it about a year after returning multiple faulty Garmin Fenix 5's. Has everything I need and at that price point it can't be beaten. The only thing I miss from the garmin is a drill mode for indoor swimming but apparently thats something coros are working on adding.

I'm 95% sure I'm going to get the 955 (non solar), I kind of want to see the reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 before I decide. I appreciate the amoled screens are power hungry but Garmin have proved it’s more than doable with the Epix. I’m an Apple fanboy for a phone and have been for years but watch wise Garmin all the way for me, you simply can’t beat the whole interface and data you get via the connect app. (Fenix 7x SS user)

They're both similar as far as features go. The Enduro 2 has an insane amount of battery life but I think the Epix gen 2 or the new Epix Pro might be easier to see. Quality production! I would like to echo another comment here about liking to see a review of best value for the price. I dislike the term 'budget' watch because the acceleration in pricing mimics the smartphone industry. While I own a Fenix 7X SS, it doesn't really do anything more for my needs compared to my FR945 LTE. That's why I also like to see growth in competition. We all win that way. So I've been experiencing Suunto 9 Peak as well as following other brands. It's a shame that Wahoo has hit hard times and looks like the Rival is left behind.

I've been using it a lot lately. I'm in the middle of a series of videos swimming/biking/running with the AWU 2. I think it's an ok option for triathlon. It can go the ironman distance but battery life isn't it's strength. Overall, I'd say that it's a really great smart watch and an ok triathlon watch. Garmin is still better for the specific sport but lacks the integration with the iPhone and smart watch features.

Good question. All of these watches will attempt to track heart rate while swimming from the optical HR sensor on the watch. Accuracy is a big mess because of all the movement in the arms while swimming. If heart rate tracking while swimming is your biggest feature request, I’d suggest a chest strap.
