There's an idiom in japan, "neko no te mo karitai"
"I would like to borrow a cat's paw" It means that one is extremely busy; so much so that they would appreciate the help of a cat -urban dictionary. Even when we know that cat never helps, they just make more mess.
So everytime jun says "neko no te wa iran" which means "we don't need your help/ we don't need cat's hands", he actually make a pun based on that idiom. In case some of you don't know.

I had an engineer come to fit a ventilator in our bathroom who had cats, my cat wanted fussing and got it. Had a plumber a couple of weeks later for something else who obviously didn't like cats and my cat stayed away.
Get it cleaned weekly. Haku really could use some clean air.

Indeed. Considering the job he did, $80 doesn't seem that steep for something you need to get done once a year or less. He was extremely thorough and did everything necessary to minimize the impact on the home while doing his job to a frankly extreme standard. Kudos to that dude.

It was probably the same as getting the AC brand new again.
Some people are saying that his work is worth double the price. If I convert it to reais, which is the money in my country, 160$ would be 885 reais. A new ac to a room around the size of theirs costs about 1000 reais, so in here they can't charge that much, even though their job is really difficult (the risk of breaking it is very high, I guess).
Basically that's why a lot of workers in the field or similar fields are not paid well enough here, because when you need to charge low for the job, you need to consider that the company is actually taking most of it, and there's the products used, the equipment and so on. Of this supposed 160$ the worker probably gets around 15$, if they are lucky. Imagine now if they charged 40$, which is probably the price where I live to hire a company that sends someone to do the work...
(Consider that most people here actually don't even clean their ACs, so there's not a lot of people to hire them)
@@analuisa1214 Hmm, here in Europe you need to shell out about 1.000,00 Euro for a split system of a brand like Panasonic (installation not included) that doesn't blow off your ears, so it definitely makes sense to invest in cleaning now and then.
I think if the Japanese worker is self-employed, his payment is not overwhelming but decent. If he works for a company he's probably better off because he'll get a salary and doesn't have to pay himself for his equipment, car and whatever.
But I get that there are huge differences in payment between low and higher paying countries.

When you mentioned it was 80 USD for a cleaning I thought "That's a rip off" Then I saw all the work he did and I was like "It's a bargain!"
They should be cleaning the filters every couple weeks. They can do that themselves....
Yeeahh....If you own a screwdriver and a small vacuum cleaner, you could probly do it yourself. AC units are super simple, although i do still admire how professional that maintenance guy was.
It takes five minutes a month to stay on top of maintenance ... but if the job is left so long (as in this case) then a full clean back to ''New Condition'' will take FAR LONGER than five minutes. This man was a professional who's work should be respected, and I bet he put at least an hour into this service if not more. Between setup, staged cleaning, and professional tooling ... this is definitely worth the money!
Plus, they say in the modern world the best thing you can buy with your money is time convenience, this falls under that category.

@3,14 _ actually it's not as simple as just cleaning the filters, I personally have experienced allergy issue with AC and I didn't know what the reason was until doing some research online, if you can start to smell a weird odor when turning on the AC then you actually have a mold/mildew problem growing inside the AC coils and the toxins they release can seriously damage your health (personally I have had migraine and constant sneezing because of the toxins, also low energy/mood), just flushing/rinsing the dust filters will not help at all, the mold/mildew that has grown on the AC coils will still be there, and every time you turn on the AC, the toxins will be recirculated back to the room where you have the AC in which is very bad news, also the reason why mold/mildew can easily infest the AC coil it's because the refrigerant inside the AC coil absorbs heat and moisture from the air and eventually the moisture from the air collects on those coils then mold/mildew starts growing on it because of the moisture. So it's actually good to hire a professional to properly clean your AC unit once in a while as they have the proper solution to kill those mold/mildew.

Cats especially know if they're around good people. Dogs tend to be rather trusting but when a cat instantly accepts someone, you know that person is a good person or at least has something about them that gains trust

Not really a fact....dogs and cats share simliar traits and not all but a good amount can sense things we dont wether the person is good or not, sad/upset and needs a pick me up, in danger and etc;
When my mom was mad at my dad my dog got defensive on him and growled in response to my mom's anger.
I wish that was true about my dog but no she barks at anyone who comes and visits...including family. She has to be around them long enough like probably 3 to 4 months or so to trust them.

Yeah the cats are super cute. We can all agree on this. But did you notice the service that the AC man provided. Dude took that sucker apart straight to its core and cleaned every scrap of dust and debris in places I didn't know exsisted in an AC unit. And a real humble man. No frills. No add ons. No extra charge for some random other parts or service. Just there to do the job that you want him to do and do it well. Can you fly him over here so he can give a lesson on good business skills??

I think the reason I keep coming back to this video is the peaceful vibe of Mr. Air Conditioning Cleaner. He feels like someone out of a Miyazaki movie, like Kiki or Umi could have him come by to clean their unit and have a delightful talk with him and give him some tea for his trouble.

I was so happy when my cat Surtr chose me. He came back twice before we were able to keep him. He is the sweetest and loudest cat I have met to this day.

i mean 80 bucks is pretty cheap no matter how you slice it for this sort of service. i imagine had this ac man worked for a large firm they would have deemed him ineffective , too much time per ac unit and too low charge rate :). but as an independant contractor you can set such limits yourself. :)
it is really a good idea to let the professional to do the cleaning. I did broke the AC after I dissemble and clean it..... and my cat loves the AC repair guy too :P

This is adorable! And may I say: I am very impressed by japanese services. Where I'm from nobody takes care of the surroundings of the machine being cleaned or installed. They would never do wet works in a flat. He was very thorough and nice. Really enjoyed this video! Haku really liked him!
I also agree with you, where I live people don't pay attention to fine detail and just do whatever they want (sometimes half-assed) and ends up costing more. My dad used to sell and rent out houses so I've seen these types of problems a lot... It's hard to find someone who is that dedicated to his job anymore
I'm truly impressed too..
Here in my country the service of cleaning can't be even compared to this and the price is quite expensive also. So people doesn't care at all if the ac is dirty or not and most of times the machine breaks more early than expected.

That AC cleaner man is a pro, the AC looked brand new after he was done. The AC guys here dont do such a good job usually
luuk341 he brought in a few containers, vacuum cleaner, air blower, water pump, and other things...maybe his own ladder. Here in my country, an AC cleaner would simply borrow a couple buckets, ladder, and even towel from the owner. Most guy will bring only a water pump, no vacuum cleaner or air blower.

Also he is a kind man, one can tell by the story that he tells about the abandoned kitty which he adopted. Because he felt bad for kitty.
