I love that Japan has restaurants that help introverts / shy people feel more comfortable. The BBQ place & your booth at Café Gaston (?) looked cozy. I personally thought the cat robot server was adorable, not soulless! ☺
Yes, I do agree with you! They are very good at catering to the more introverted crowd, and it's nice when you're out and about by yourself. 😀 However, I think in some cases, they can overdo it. Japanese culture tends to be very secluded and in some cases even promote isolation. Depression is rampant in Japanese society and a lot of times it's unintentionally further propagated by isolating people and discouraging social interaction. 😞
I'm very introverted and I don't struggle with ordering food. Not everything needs to be tailored to weakness but I digress. At least there's no question as to who's responsible for wrong orders.
I have been devastated for years now, for not being able to visit japan due to the pandemic (and most likely, not anytime sooner). Been watching almost all of your videos for days now, since it really reminds me of how nice japan is, and made me hopeful for future travel plans. Thank you for your hardwork!
@Christine C. For years in my pocket of VA one or the "highest rated" steak places was a place where they brought you your raw cut of steak and you had to go to the charcoal pit grill in the back of the dining room and cook it yourself. I worked there as a teenager and didn't get why people liked it so much. But I like KBBQ style places, I just don't always have folks to go with so this would be perfect for 20 bucks and all that.
It’s amazing isn’t it that there are these unique opportunities for people who’d like to know what a country is like or where to stay before one embarks on their own adventure or vacation I wish them all well May they all have safe travels
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo. Moi qui suis de France je trouve que le Japon est magnifique. J'adore vos vidéos et cela me donne l'impression de voyager avec vous. Encore merci et à bientôt pour un nouvel endroit.
You my friend are so lucky to go to places like this, i watch all your vidio's, i have always yearned to go to Japan but my years of traveling are now over, oh i wish i would have i could have gone there, good luck my friend and enjoy.
I agree Diabetes has put an end to my travels I wish I had done more That is the stark reality isn’t it? That in the end we always look back feeling we could have Should have done more Times however have changed Youngsters have the world at their fingertips Travelling isn’t what it once was and it’s more accessible Perhaps we can watch and dream through their lives I’m happy doing that Be well May I see more of your comments in the future
Wow that was so cool to see a cat robot server bringing your breakfast. Also seeing how you slept which is pretty cool too. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I didn't noticed did they do a heart rate?
The more of these types of videos I watch, the more I think Japan would be a great country to travel as a solo older female. Economical, safe, great food, interesting scenery and friendly people. Love the ideas of capsule hotel stays, trains and ferry travel as well.
I have just discovered your videos. Iam happy watching them. I am learning so much about sleeping in different circumstances. Very entertaining. Thank u
i somehow always end at night when going to bed, watching videos like this ( first person view ) and the food always looks soo delicious and healthy, and it makes me hungry, so I mostly always ends up, getting back up for a quick snack.
I remember staying at a capsule hotel in Tokyo or Akhiabara (I'm not quite sure) and both of them were not size friendly. Someone like me, 6'7, and claustrophobic would find any capsule hotel a nightmare. I especially asked me travel agent to get me something size friendly, and she got me a box to live in.
For passing through alone, and not wanting to spend money on unused space, this is outstanding. Considering the price of a hotel room, economic too. Less of a problem with someone sneaking in a guest too. Good job on the apnea thing, I got 672 times in just 8 hours, critical apnea! But got me a cool face mask to force air down my lungs when I try stopping in my sleep. You feel better when you wake up.
1:08 That gentleman is dressed like Spike Spiegel from "Cowboy Bebop." 6:45 Yakiniku Like has 80's music playing! 15:55 Cute! Thanks for sharing your hotel stay, it does look very futuristic. Since there is no restaurant in the hotel, I guess it's main attraction is the sleep analysis. Looking forward to your next trip!
Yeah, Yakiniku Like has 80 or 90s songs like "I want it that way" or Bon jovi songs that I only know😅 I was just scared of TH-cam copyright-claiming the video haha
tks the video,The last time I went to Tokyo, I also went to that yakiniku restaurant, because I can use an iPad to order food, which is convenient for tourists like me who don't understand Japanese.
I have just discovered your Channel. I am finding it truly fascinating. I have heard of the capsule beds and seen them in featured in a magazine program in the UK. I love the individual booths in the restaurant and being able to cook your own meal. It was great to see how it all works and see the amenities provided. Everything looks spotless and I would love to try the hotel someday. I look forward to watching more of your uploads. I have shared the channel with friends and family. I even showed it to my mum, she was very impressed. Everything is so orderly and calm and modern, it's great fun to watch. I hope you keep up the good work
I was at the store this evening a Kit Kat cost $1.65 the 1.5 oz size not 0.9 cents. The other meals were about the same price, but healthier meals. I love this channel, like being there.
Overall everything is interesting. But everything is to avoid other people, even in restaurants. OK, I understand the robot waiters if there are not ebough workers and it works well. I liked the most that you can order via a screen and you do not have to wait for a bill. I would have no problem with this sort of hotel. It was clean and the hotel looked nice. And it was very cheap, no disadvantage. After seeing this I do not wonder that the Japanese population is decreasing, if they go solo for BBQ, breakfast and have no conversation at all. Japan is interesting and I think I will travel one time to this country. Very special.
So interesting! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Here in the US we don’t have things like that. I hope to visit your country one day soon.
Fantastic video! I'm so curious about the capsule experience in Japan and hope one day I can try it but I don't think I can convince my wife Hahaha! I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner part (solo BBQ)! Keep up the great work and I've subscribed! Arigato gozaimasu.
There are many devices you can use at home now for sleep analysis. My watch records sleep and tells you the various stages of your sleep and when you were restless etc, it also shows heart rate, oxygen and breaths per minute. You can add other apps or use certain apps on their own and they can record if you snore or talk in your sleep etc 😆
Thank you for bringing us to a very unique hotel and 2 really unique restaurants! Very nice! I found the Hotel on Google Maps Street view and tried to follow along when you left the hotel. I followed you to the vending machines and I think I found the BBQ place on the map but I couldn't find the Breakfast place. I tried looking it up on the map and it sent me 15 minutes away on the other side of the Palace near the train station. Maybe that was it? Anyway, thank you for taking us along. I had a fun time. Looking forward to the next one! ☮
Hi DLeadVox for enjoying my video and your time!😊 Yes, the restaurant I had breakfast is a little away from the hotel. I walked about 7 mins. But sadly that's the only restaurant for breakfast and the hotel recommends the place to guests
おお、こういうの待ってた。 私の勤務先からも近い。 I like a restaurant called relax in Akasaka. It's a very nice hotel. I'll use it next time. It would have been more perfect if the hotel had a restaurant inside. thanks
Compared with other capsule hotels, this one has very small space and has no special room. The BBQ introvert restaurant interests me. I hope they had it in my country. It hurts me that I see all the tables has two people sit.
Honestly it seems pretty great for me as one who has sensory overload issues. I wish my country had stuff like that - humans tend to tire me out more and more these days
Fascinating but not my choice by any means. I like people not robots, and rooms not capsules that look like upscale jail cells. I’ve been told Japan is beautiful and I would love to see it. This video was great way to see things, thanks for the peek!
Your videos are fascinating. I like the way you've organized them and the way you use subtitles. I watched another video of yours about sleeping stations and enjoyed it too. When I first read about these capsule hotels I thought they sounded depressing, but after this video I think they're actually very inexpensive and seem worth it. I do think that the lack of any interaction with others in both the hotel and restaurants would start to bother me after awhile. Everything seems set up to avoid any human contact. Even the streets you have videotaped look very empty.
I agree that the solo diner restaurants look amazing. I wish they would have them in the UK. But I loved the cat robot waiter - I thought it was very cute 🙂
As an introvert Person, you realy made to fly to Japan. I want to visit and sleep at the same places as you did. Like Anshin Oyado from you other Video. I like your work and go on. Maybe you can do Videos like going thru Tourist spots and help us how to react at entering in Restaurants or what to do if you are smoker or other stuff a tourist should know. Thanks for your Work.
I had my first experience with one of those robots at a Korean restaurant in Texas. Trust me, you don't want to get in its way lol. I would love to sleep in a hotel that does sleep analysis as I'm curious what it would reveal.
Hi Travelgeek!! the way you tell your story is unique as it immerses the viewer with the environment and you inspired me to incorporate your method in my vlogs as a start-up vlogger and I have learned a lot!!! cheers to more stories to tell and warm greetings from the Philippines!!!
We have Yakiniku Like here in Singapore 😃 and we enjoy it very much too. It is so nice that some of your restaurants open for breakfast as well. The robots are quite cute 🤭but yah, they are soulless. 👻 hehe.

I wish they had these in the USA so many times you just dont want to deal with humans.
Yes, I do agree with you! They are very good at catering to the more introverted crowd, and it's nice when you're out and about by yourself. 😀
However, I think in some cases, they can overdo it. Japanese culture tends to be very secluded and in some cases even promote isolation. Depression is rampant in Japanese society and a lot of times it's unintentionally further propagated by isolating people and discouraging social interaction. 😞
As their population plummets........humans are social creatures. Period.
you will never be a woman

Indeed! Are you a fan of the movie Lost in Translation?
So, have you finally visited now that the borders are open?
How adorable the "steal humans job" robot is!
I would 100% love having a restaurant like that to eat at.
@Tisha B'Av The fact you found a 3-month-old comment to promote some skynet conspiracy, impressive.
There are Restaurants similar to that in the US where you cook your own food. Melting Pot in Oklahoma City
Eh, if I'm going out to eat and paying that kind of money, I want someone else to cook it. 😂

Cuz a bunch of short people in japan🤣
You probably blended right in.
Yeah, what if the slippers and pajamas don’t fit?
The " Cheers to Me " really made me smile. That alone got me to give a thumbs up.
I heard some deep purple in that bbq restaurant. Niceee
I love your video! we were just in Japan from 11/7 to 11/17 also visited Sendai because we love Yuzuru’s skating
thank you for the video. it was very informative and moves at the perfect pace.

Looks like that restaurant has a really good music taste!
The BBQ restaurant with the tasty meats, cheap beer, individual booths and Queen and Deep Purple on the radio looks amazing. I wish we had them here!

I stayed at exactly the same capsule as you were staying in, back in 2019. Even have a picture of it 🤣. What a trip down memory lane.
For that price, it is ok-ish! I don t like capsule hotels, not even for one night !!! But seems to be very clean and that is a plus !!!
Amazing hotel and the sleep results are quite interesting. Typically you would have to go to a Sleep clinic to get that testing. Great value!
