This was a big deal for me back in 2004 when my internet was limited. Bought the album and it came with this as a bonus disc which I watched on my PS2. Good times man.

I have always thought Jack “quit” because he couldn’t keep up with Pat. Jack is a good songwriter but he’s not a super technical player by any means and Alex wanted to push the boundaries. Same thing happened when they replaced Rusay, if you don’t keep up you’re gone…

@@christianeasley767 he didn’t leave CC for Deicide, he joined quite a while after leaving CC. Deicide is also not near as technically advanced as current CC is although Steve is the better drummer. Looks like 6 Feet Under is Jack’s favorite band now and we all know where they land in the pecking order…

And that’s precisely why I prefer older CC (Pre-Wretched Spawn era). No ill feelings toward Pat, he’s an amazing player, but I feel like they started needlessly going to more complex and contrived arrangements just for the sake of it, instead of making cohesive songs.
I can imagine that being a big reason for Jack leaving, it became less and less about playing with feel to treating guitar like a math book. They lost that brutal groove element they had on albums like Gallery of Suicide.
Also, I don’t believe it came down to Jack not being able to keep up. I don’t think Barrett is any more proficient technically than Owen, so it’s was more of Jack just saying “I don’t like where this is going, fuck it.”

Great to see in studio footage from the making of this album and how they were working with Neil Kernon. Wretched Spawn is a killer album with some truly sick tracks, cool to see Alex using the Spector Euro 5LX bass too

I used to watch this loads when it came out with the wretched spawn CD special edition. I even got my uncle to watch it who is a massive folk fan. At first he was like, what is this nonsense, then he said to me actually, this is pretty dam cool what they do! Death metal is an acquired taste but when you get the taste, its hard to pass it.

Wow! Why would Paul not own a drum kit such as that by now?
As he explained, it's a top-of-the-line model, and it would only stand to reason that this drummer, who's been gainfully employed as CC's drummer in all this time, but does not/can't afford these?
    Anyone?

Yes, I realize they are studio drums.
Maybe I didn't make myself clear:
To me, it sounded like Paul covets these drums, but for whatever reason doesn't own this type of kit.
He states, 'I hope to own one of these kits one day" ~ so, my question is ~ why would Paul not already own this "top-of-the-line" kit?
Obviously they are not a specialty-made, "only-one-kit-made" type of drum set, otherwise Paul wouldn't have said he wished to own a set like this some day?
Surely, after 15 years he could afford such a thing then?

Almost, but not quite. Instead of an F# on the high B string, it’s an F to maintain the third interval, simplifying chords and scale shapes.
