    I have a 2009 Nissan Titan and it stills runs like a champ. 270,000 plus miles on it and it stills pulls like it was brand new. The 5.6 engine is a true endurance engine. The transmission has held up great with no problems.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they are great engine designs! I never really heard of transmission problems with them either.

    This truck is severely undervalued and underrated. It’s resale value is low which helps people who buy used trucks and keep them.

      I agree it's a great truck and with that warranty , would make it on my short list if shopping for one.

    I still have a 2013 Armada. Love it. My father came up to visit for the holidays and had a ‘23 Titan for a rental. I actually really liked it a lot.

      They do. I was was working at a Nissan dealer then and a local Sheriifs Dept bought a few of them for beach patrol. Those deputies couldn't give higher praise how well they did on the beach compared to the Grand Cherokees and F150s they had before

    I own a 23 pro4x and yes I know they have been cancelled but I'm holding onto it for a long time! I like they don't have the auto start stop bs, no cylinder deactivation, long warranty and they tow really well even over the rating.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah..the warranty is outstanding and I've heard that stop/start cylinder deactivation has caused issues with other brands. I think you chose a fantastic truck.

    I like the Tundra of that era but I recall when the 1st gen Titan came out it looked like nothing else. Still can’t believe the first generation truck lingered on for as long as it did-similar to the previous generation Frontier and it’s extended shelf life. When the first generation Tundra came out I always thought it was trying to mimic the F150 too much. But yeah I especially like the second gen pre-refresh Titan. Whereas it seems as though everyone drives one of ‘the big three’ the Titan is more of an underdog, and that’s what I like about it. Such a shame they are planning on discontinuing the Titan. Great video.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yeah I loved it when Nissan launched a full size with alot of advantages right out of the gate, but that full size market is fierce. The Big 3 make alot of money off them so they can afford to adapt theirs quicker. The warranty on Titan alone should make it worth considering today!

    • @sierratough4934
      @sierratough4934 ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing I never liked about the tundra was it was only offered with a C channel frame and not fully boxed. Until this year they finally went fully boxed but then they got rid of the V8.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  ปีที่แล้ว

      @sierratough4934 wasn't the earlier Tundras fully boxed and it helped lead to a rusting frame issue?

  • @PeterGriffer247

    The 1st gen titan had a 1/4 ton rear end that was weak, has electrical brake problems, and had a hard time towing anything over 5k lbs. It was unreliable when you needed it the most.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PeterGriffer247 They did improve the rear end after the early models were produced yes.

    Why buy a 2015 when a 2007 wasn't much different other than half the price. Same with the frontier!
    Other than that both are great trucks. Only owned 2 types of trucks... f150 and Nissans.
    since my last new 2012 f150 , sold it a year later and I won't ever buy another ford... all been Nissans since then.
    look for one if you need a good used truck.

    If the Titan is still around at the end of 2024, I will give it consideration. I am shopping between a midsize and 1/2 ton truck. I will be towing a small 2,900 lb Casita travel trailer. I will also be hauling camping, so payload is important and I would like a minimum of 1,500 lbs. I also would like a 6’ bed. Thus, I would like the king cab. If I can buy a Titan for the same price as a mid-trim mid-size truck, I will seriously consider one. I do like their warranty.

    Every 1st gen Titan I see in the road looks like it's held together with super glue and disappointment. 1st gen Tundras still look like they can do another 250k miles with no sweat.

    • @autochatter
      @autochatter  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen some rough ones but then when you see the odometer it may have 2 or 3 hundred thousand miles. I think a little duct tape might be in order lol. I have seen one Titan...a 09 with half a million miles on it ,and looked like it had 60k. I've also seen older Tundras with alot of miles and some appear to be beat on daily while others look great.
