Bought my gsx650f with poor reaction to throttle. Earlier owner changed sparks, filters, ecu and nothing, same result. I bought new fuel pump and the same...again removed everything..max revs 5-6k, and speed 130-140kmh...Problem was debris in STRAINER of fuel filter plastic housing (look inside through the hole) Nr. 8 TOP PART on the parts picture. Drowned it in petroleum for 24h and blowed with compressed air. And finally 4k kms without problems. Top speed 230kmh by speedo and joy of riding..
I had a similar issue and looks like I've solved it coz the bike has been fine for the past 2 to 3 days. I had read lots of forums and watched videos on how people fixed it, and learned the following: At first, I only cleaned the filter (the one attached to the pump, not the one inside the regulator housing). The bike responded well, but for a short time, then went back to losing power at about 7k rpm. I went ahead to buy a new one and replaced but also after a few Kms the bike went back to the same thing. So this is what I did that solved it (as of now it's okay and I hope it stays that way): - I cleaned the entire fuel tank, just to be sure that I was washing out all the dirt that may have clogged the system.- I then disassembled the fuel pump system and paid keen attention to the pressure regulator which I was now convinced was the problem. I soaked it in hot water for about 1 hour; blew the wire mesh inside using compressed air (saw some black dust particles fly out); cleaned that mesh again with carb cleaner; then blew with compressed air again; I then let it dry and re-assembled everything.- The bike has been running great since then! I hope this helps
i was so psyched to find this video. i was about to replace the fuel pump even though i could hear it starting up i just didn't know what else it could be. had already been through all the fuel trouble shooting i could think of and was only left with the pump.. but it sounded good. totally bogging after 4k rpm in all gears and throttle positions. i was so skeptical, 5 bucks for compressed air really? so i did the fix, started her up and revved her through 10k in neutral. wow ! ok test ride time. almost perfect. still a slight bog around 8k, but it would push through. first time since i bought her that i had it above 40mph (way above this time i'll admit). basically full performance. 10 min test drive lots of fun. parked. did some errands and rode 20 mins to work. stopped on the way to work added a gallon or so of gas (was keeping it low in case i had to get back into this tank for now). after adding gas, nothing! now on power up i only hear a slight tsk tsk tsk from the fuel pump instead of the full power up i was hearing before this simple remedy. is my fuel pump just bad after all? even though she gave me so much hope after cleaning her out with the pressurized air?
So I’m still working on this. I tend to have to redo this fix every other ride. It runs perfect for a bit and then I’m back to the fueling issue. Did you ever make any changes to avoid this problem coming back? Maybe I should try a new fuel regulator ? Another question … bike looks great like that … which clip ons and headlight are you using ?
Thanks for sharing. Due to the very bad designing of fuel housing ( i would love to know who Japanese guy had this f@!#king idea), you have to clean the fuel housing once per year , especially if your bike is sitting at your garage through winter time more than 4 months. I had clean the fuel housing last year when i had bog problems. Everything was good after cleaning. The bike sat at my garage on winter, and when i ride it again, the same problem appears. I cleaned it again and everything is fine. It drives you crazy, because you are thinking of spark plugs, ignition coils, bad fuel, and the problem is the fuel housing cleaning. This is the KEY !!!
5:39 how is it happen that one of the screws from fuel pump is not tight? 9:28 where from has this little plastic come? Maybe I haven't heard it before.

Seems to be a problem for these bikes. Fortunately it’s a simple job to do and can be done really quickly too
Very helpful man needed this video

@@joshualewin6033 Amazon sells the quantum fuel pump which I switch too and it was really good for the price

Good man worked a treat many thanks
No problem

If you ride often you don’t clean it as often I found out. But yeah once the bike sits it gets clogged
Excellent vid thanks from the UK.
Appreciate it ✊🏾
lmao " thats a big ass dog " AGREE BRO!
It was scary 🥲

The gold screw isn’t an original. One out of the five got lost previously while doing this same process and this was just a temporary replacement
@@2fast2smooth49 thanks, I thought tse same later. BTW, we are in the same FB group ;-)
can you do a video showing where the 2 hoses in the rear lead to the smaller on on my bike is broken and i can’t find where it goes to
@@stolenvlogs6331 unfortunately I sold this bike a few years ago
@@2fast2smooth49 damn all good
@@stolenvlogs6331 i believe those are the tank breather holes if I remember correctly. They just hang on the right side of the bike
Any idea where the rectifier is?
Nice video and I love the clip ons
Thank you ✊🏾

Good basic help.
Keep up with it 👍🏻perhaps get a mounting device for your phone. I’ll subscribe to you. Cheers 😎😊
Thank you. Was using a GoPro at the time. Still haven’t gotten the mounting device yet😂😅
