    This was a 2 year experiment to get Sheduer to showcase his skills and be a first round picks. Almost all of your freshman that you recruited have transferred. When you build a program, you develop the your young kids and build them for 3 years. This is not happening. All he is doing is swapping backups. If he was truly building a program he would have focused on his recruits and just filled in the blanks with transfers. But his son had 2 years to play so this was the focus: Showcase his son...

    I was born and raised in Boulder, so I have been following the team for a long time.
    There are criticism of Deion that are completely legitimate, but I didn't hear any of them in this segment. Van is acting like Colorado got killed in conference last year, and that's just not true. They lost 42-6 to Oregon and 56-14 to Washington State. Other than that, every game was within one score. Compare that to the previous year when they went 1-11 with an AVERAGE margin of defeat of 30 POINTS!
    Yes, it's messy. And yes, I would've loved to see them win some of those close games (the Stanford loss hurt the worst), but I can't tell you how much nicer it is to see a team go and be competitive rather than be one of the worst teams in the entire country. The kids that were on the team before he came in had to transfer out mainly because they were just bad at football. If you measure his tenure based solely on wins and losses, he has clearly been a massive success. If you measure his tenure on attention and revenue generation, you could argue he's the best hire in college football coaching history.
    Now, do I think he'll leave for greener pastures when his kid gets drafted to the NFL? Absolutely I do, and then the team will be back to square one.

      Coach Prime has done some suspect stuff outside of football but has been able to cover most of the stuff up from the general public. Prime Academy, domestic abuse claims, his testimony under oath for the situation his 2nd son was in, and list goes on. With CU, he is in conference that has schools that have the same or more resources than him and he has not learned that the formula he used at JSU will not work for regular season success. People tend to forget Coach Prime lost to a 6-5 SCSU in bowl game.

    We judged Deion based on the content of his character and we were ALL called the "Big R" word for it when this was always laughably obvious to ANYONE with even a shred of common sense. Deion is a hustler. It is ALWAYS about him and only him. He has literally been that way from the second he had the national spotlight put on him.
    And just to be clear, having kids who aren't actually talented enough to be on the team transfer off of the team and then having those kids react negatively to how they were treated IS NOT even the problem here. That's not even the red flag. As was said in this clip, finding disgruntled former college players from ANY program is not difficult to do. The difference is that Nick Saban never went to the media and trash-talked those former players after they were gone...NO MATTER WHAT THOSE PLAYERS SAID ABOUT HIM OR THE PROGRAM! You never saw Urban Meyer or any of the all-time-great college coaches EVER do something that trashy.
    That is because those great men are intelligent enough to understand that the glory comes from the success their programs have over an extended period of time. Nobody would want to hear Urban Meyer or Nick Saban talk about college football on TV if their programs finished with four wins every year and they didn't have championship rings on their fingers. Those coaches achieved fame and fortune BASED ON THEIR COACHING ABILITIES! Not their self-promotion abilities. Guys like Saban don't even WANT to talk to the media. Deion wants an entire media circus around him every time he opens his mouth.
    Deion is all about Deion. About drawing attention to Deion. About gaining more fame for Deion. And that is even true when it comes to his own son. He wants to be able to brag that HE turned his son into a high NFL draft pick and a good NFL player. It's not just about his son having success...it's about being able to take THE CREDIT for his son having success. He literally could not care less about any other kid on that team. Coaches like Saban, Meyer, etc, want success for ALL of their players. Deion wants success for his son, and whatever happens to the rest of the kids on his team isn't his problem. That's the difference.

    My issue with Dion at Colorado is that his entire approach is so dramatically different to that from his previous stent at Jackson State. It’s almost like he got the Colorado job because of what he did at Jackson State, as well as his profile - but as soon as he got to Colorado, he completely changed his coaching and management style. If memory serves, he didn’t turn over the roster at Jackson State nearly to the extent, nor was he dependent on the portal over traditional recruiting and player development. I think there was more stability with the coaching staff, too. From an outsiders perspective, it looks a lot like he lacked the confidence to apply what made him successful at an FCS program while now on the main stage of a power five job.

      I kind of think it’s the opposite. I don’t think he turned the roster over as much in the second year at JSU because the first year he got a large amount of FBS players to transfer down to FCS schools that probably didn’t need to go that far down. His advantage at JSU was he got the same level of portal players he’s getting now but then he was able to beat up on FCS teams with them so things like chemistry and continuity didn’t matter. He learned the wrong lessons from that and assumed he could jump a level and use the exact same recipe to win FBS games.

    There is no rule stating that you cannot comment back to someone that is commenting about your School and they retaliate by doing the same thing and it rubs you the wrong way so what. if someone tried to put a bad image on my name, I would defend myself if you’re feelings get hurt maybe you shouldn’t speak bad on someone’s name. As one of the best football players, no one can comment on how he go by things. He is already one of the best football players. his son will be in the first round Travis also. the player that chose to jump in the portal was a mid average player that’s the truth.most people don’t like the truth so they find things to more upset them. Some people expect for people to talk about them and not to say anything back. someone told me you can’t get upset because someone didn’t do something that you would have done. I will listen to a Hall of Fame player and a first round draft pick before an average player. If your feelings get hurt, or you don’t have enough confidence maybe you’re in the wrong sport

  • @broncobilly4029
    @broncobilly4029 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I'm a CU/Deion fan. They weren't as good or as bad as people said last year. They've had turmoil, but they also have talent and real coaches. If they execute sound game plans (e.g., run the ball, and stop the run), they can win more than they lose. If Shedeur is a #1 pick, then they should win 8+ games. Anything short of that would be a disappointment.

    • @ColonelAngus2
      @ColonelAngus2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They're not winning 8. They'll be 2-2 after four games

    • @broncobilly4029
      @broncobilly4029 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ColonelAngus2 I said it'd be a disappointment if they don't win 8. They have a great QB, a game breaker (Travis H), and virtually every other projected starter, started for a D1 program last year. Their expectations should be high. If they don't succeed, they will deserve criticism, and they will get it.

    • @ColonelAngus2
      @ColonelAngus2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@broncobilly4029 they could win 8, I just don't understand where this confidence comes from. They didn't make enough upgrades from last year's 4-8 team to give me confidence. And their 4 wins: surprised a bad TCU team, beat Nebraska but their QB was the worst I've ever seen in major CFB. Had to go to OT to beat a bad CSU team. And they beat ASU on the road, which was a good win.
      So that Colorado team could have easily been 2-10. Yet their fans say anything less than 8 wins is a disappointment? I don't see it

    I listened intently to this entire conversation, and it appears that there is destain because of how norms are being challenged. However, none of the panelists seem to have a true understanding of how barriers are broken, especially in football. As someone who has successfully overcome obstacles and broken barriers as a businessperson, I would advise the panel to adopt a wait-and-see approach regarding Coach Prime. If the team succeeds and has a winning season, what could you say to justify your previous criticisms? How would you explain the discrepancy between your predictions and the team's performance?
    I understand that you're in the business of generating clicks and profits, which is perfectly reasonable. However, for those of us observing from the sidelines, we're in a wait-and-see mode after this season. If the Deion leads the team to a successful year, it will significantly diminish the credibility of the opinions expressed on this panel about his coaching abilities and ability to change a culture within a power five football program. Deion has been a winner all of his life and I would NEVER bet against him.

Made a lot of $$ off Prime because like most of the casuals, Vegas didn’t get who they were either at the beginning of the season. Hope to repeat that with the first two games, that first game will be closer than Vegas realizes.
    Everything Van & RR said is not only 1000 but no other national pundits are talking about it at this much depth; their silence is deafening and they smell of fear. The shows that cover for Deion’s mistakes weren’t real sports shows to begin with and this subject only further clarifies their existence.

    I think people have a hard time understanding the type of home Colorado was in a program: They are behind UTAH for prestige in the last 25 years. They were worse off than NEBRASKA. They were 1-11 with an average loss in the Pac-12 of 30 points. Deion going there is GREAT for the program.
    At this point, I expect them to be probably 6-6 at best this upcoming year. Again, this is with 2 guys viewed as 1st round guys conservatively. Their depth is still an issue and will rear is head during the season. Maybe he stays, maybe he leaves but Colorado football is in a much better place regardless. I think they have a good chance to be viable in the Big-12 (to me they're 1 of the winners in the conference realignment).

A coach that has a proven track record of winning at the highest level and sends kids to the NFL on a regular that a kid went to the school to learn under retired. Not even a close comparison.

I have never made a song before but I most certainly can criticize a song like I suspect you have most certainly done in your life. And since most of of the Colorado fan base upset with Prime's criticisms are black I am sure they probably hate Donal Trump ( I dont like him either btw), I am pretty sure none of them have been President of the United States and I am sure they criticize him and I would be willing to bet my life on that. So by your logic, none of the above scenarios are legit because the people doing the criticism cant do what they are criticizing. You see how stupid that sounds. And why is that always the go to? Seems very intellectually lazy. You cant do what he does so who are you to question it. Many of the Sports analyst cant do what they commentate on.

    Coach Sanders makes Colorado relevant and he brings in revenue, culture and growth. His overall coaching style towards his players, staff, supporters and fans is well documented on a daily basis. Building a foundation, I thought the military training was outstanding. His strengthening and conditioning program is impressive and stands on excellence. His Support Team is well experienced and polished. I look forward to having one of the crab cakes Chef Carl advertises. It was necessary for Coach Sander to bring in a coaching staff he could trust to deliver (representing 127 years of pro football experience.) The Portal took on a life of its own with NIL. It is not an invention of Coach Sanders. To suggest his behavior to be erratic is an insult and it defames his character. The First Amendment is a Right, but Defamation and Slander is illegal. He responded back to one individual as a father not as a coach. All other continued comments and insults have been generated by the media, haters and/or former players. The responses came from his sons, current players and supporters. Just because you believe in God and have faith, does not make you perfect. However, I see a man, father, a human being and professional trying maybe his hardest and to the best of his ability to be a good person and be his authentic self. His life is football and I believe all things enjoyable to him, he brings to football. This is season two! Looking forward to Miss Peggy Bowl Game. Continued Blessings and Success to the Buffs Family and Nation.
