If the issue with CU LY was no oline and then they bring in several Olinemen, 2 were top 10 IOL in the portal +5 star Seaton, that sounds like the Oline has improved. Texas gave up 25 sacks last season. If CU is around there, the offense will avg 30+ a game, because of running and passing improvements. They brought in DB Hodge, who could've went pro LY. Their DLine has multiple guys with 5+ sacks LY + all-pac12 EDGE. They have multiple tanks on DL now and speed in the LB room. A new, fast-paced defensive scheme, tailored to their opponent each week. How are they not a legitimate Big12 contender?! These are definitely not LY's transfer or practice players, scout team or undersized, inexperienced players.

      “They brought in……”
That’s what we heard last year too. 4 and 5 star transfer “brought in”. There’s more to football than stars on a recruits name! Oline in college football functions in a system. It takes time. Even in the NFl you don’t just start over with a new fresh line with young players who have potential. Franchises that do are usually rebuilding! It even takes them time. Same with defensive front 7 and interior rotation. Revolving door makes this nearly impossible. Individual players don’t make a good line….a systematic execution and recruiting players that fit into that system does. This is what made programs like Bama, Georgia, Mich etc etc what they are. Whole new O-line and defensive front 7 for now is just on paper. We’ll see.

@@mackdeen7021 You guys keep saying that and it is such a terrible position to take. EVERY team talks about who is returning and who they "brought in" because it's called recruiting. Last year's players were an improvement of the previous year's players and this year's players are an improvement over last year's (+ development). That's not a complicated, mind-blowing concept. Nobody is saying this is an award winning Oline. We are saying they are better than last year and will be coached better than last year and will allow Shedeur and the run game to be more productive. This year's players aren't being "hyped" because of stars they are being hyped off of talent, production, film and potential. Some of these players were expected to have big seasons at their previous school, next year but now because they are at CU they're not good?! A lot of these players, especially the OLine have year's of experience. Comparing NFL rookies to college seniors doesn't make sense. The way they go about their business, handle pressure and their track record in college is different than the NFL.

They are 1-7 in their last 8 games, only win was over a team with their 4th string QB. Of the QBs they beat, Morris is now in the G5, Sims is 3rd string, Colorado State QB is G5, and Bourguet is a backup. Currently on a 6 game losing streak. If you are being honest Colorado does have a realistic chance to compete in the BIG12. Colorado had Arizona on the ropes and, almost beat Utah without Shedeur. If they have just a good offensive line they will be right there. CU was competitive in every game but, two. They have the best QB, the best skill position group and, secondary in the BIG12 in my opinion. They have added great pieces on their defensive line and, they added quality players on their offensive line. Also I believe Shedeur will be even better this year in a pro style offense. He will have the autonomy to change plays and, change protections more than he did last year. I honestly believe CU has upgraded up front. Damione Lewis was the defensive line coach for the Seahawks and, Warren Sapp is a good coach himself. On offense not only did they add Phil Loadholt but they also have Pat Shurmur who has OLINE experience. I am very interested to see how those pieces come together and, gel but, if they are improved CU will compete in the BIG12

Let me make this simple to understand. Keeping Shedeur healthy means not letting him lead the nation in being sacked. Not being sacked as much means longer drives and more points. The other teams won't be running the ball as much trying to kill time with a lead. Also don't forget the 22 buffs average point difference was -28 the 23 buffs average was -8.
Also how do you keep Hunter watching from the sideline and he starts both ways. And please go look at how many times Colorado beat Vegas last yr.

Food for thought, as people continue to harp CU going 4-8 in Coach Prime's first year. The season prior to Coach Prime coming to Boulder, CU's 11 losses had an average of 29.6 in point differential. In Coach Prime's first season, the 8 losses averaged 9.6 differential. So yes, they only won 4 games last season after starting 3-0. What folks aren't talking about is he made an irrelevant program very completive in a single season.
Yes the trenches were a major issues last season, as was depth. Both were addressed in spades during the off-season. They can't be any worse in the trenches than they were a year ago, where they gave up 50+ sacks and couldn't stop the run nor pressure the QB.
At a minimum, CU will double last year's win total, as long as they remain health at the key positions. CU has increased their roster talent and the Big 12 isnt' better than last year's PAC-12.

Many predicted this when Dieon took over the program and Remember by the CSU game….ESPN and everyone was on board with their top 25 ranking and all of Hollywood and hip-hop industry flying into Boulder to stand on the sidelines 😮😂😅. But now we’re supposed to be impressed that a former CU player being a homer? . CUfootball is more or less starting from scratch again. Whole new O-line, new running backs, new front 7 on defense etc etc. . That’s either a good thing or a bad thing. But I’m predicting 6-6. I think it’s going to take a couple years for the athletes and talent to result into really winning. . Which is hard when you have a revolving door for a program. Coach Prime has a giant task to get everyone working in his system (whatever that is) on both sides of the ball. Many of these transfers have very little to no real experience. He has a short time to coach them up. We’ll see.

I like klatt a lot, but his bias is definitely showing here. Transferring in your entire team every year is not a recipe for success and never will be. The portal is important, but to fill a hole or 2 and add depth, not build a whole team. Also, based on what we saw last year, deion isn't a very good coach as far as having a focused and disciplined team. Shedeur and even more so hunter are great players, but it takes a lot more than 2 elite players to have a good football team.

    10 plus new lineman
    10 plus new d lineman
A revamped loaded WR core best in the big 12 for sure
A group of backs that can run down hill and pass protect
    A secondary that is revamped
Colorado only got blown out by one team last year all the rest of the games were competitive as much as QB1 got sack and pressured and still had great numbers what you think going to happen with the legit line he has this year and the wr core he got

@bubbabrown9254 it's less about who Colorado is (much improved to be certain) and more about the teams on their schedule. Also, Colorado is not going to sneak up on anybody, and they will take every teams absolute best shot week after week....K ST, Kansas, Utah, OK ST, Baylor, Texas Tech...all I'm saying is 7-5 is the most reasonable expectation, but people shouldn't be shocked if they are 4-8 again either...it will be a fun watch though

So it seems to me that JD didnt actually watch Colorado Games last year. They where giving up time of posseio. To teams because the offensive line could bold up consistently. Which means your offense can't get firet downs and the defense is always on the field of course they are going to give up a yon of rush yards. We have to stop with these half baked takes and actually have nuanced honest and factual conversations.

First of all Joel Klatt has been the biggest HATER when it comes to CU. He has been very negative if you watch any of his interviews and has never given CU any Credit. We dont like Joel. Now to the BIG 12. THERE IS NO TEAM IN THE BIG 12 that can stop the BEST WR room in college football. Shedder , travis and all of CU especially with this being their last year, THEY ARE GONNA DOMINATE the big 12. There is NO team in the BIG 12 that has a good enough secondary that can stop CU. You combine that with the massive defense they have now and they are gonna completely dominate. Now everyone wants to talk about Deions first year. They didnt have an ENTIRE year and off season to actually get ready and what they did do and what they showed was astounding. Now they have an entire season and off season. They have veterans, people who have been on great teams. They have EXPERIENCE, Deion now has EVERYTHING that he wanted both trenches and skill. NOW they are gonna completely DOMINATE and the Big 12 they are gonna SMASH those teams.
