Heartstopper is actually a spin off of a novel called Solitaire where Tori is the main character! Alice (the creator) has talked about how they aren't exploring Tori in Heartstopper since Solitaire is her story and Heartstopper is Nick and Charlie's! Definitely read the book if you want to find out more about Tori! it's one of my favorites!
Solitaire includes some significant spoilers for Heartstopper Volume 4, which will be adapted in season 3 of the TV show - for anyone trying to avoid spoilers entirely. We won't see the main plot of Solitaire in season 3, but we most likely will see more Tori!
I love that you mentioned Tori since (fun fact) the whole heartstopper universe wouldn't exist if it wasn’t for Tori, she was the first character Alice (the writer) created, in her book Solitaire. I think you'd like it (Nick and Charlie are side characters there)
I love the moment at 2:58 ! 😂 It's them having already picked up on nick and charlie being more than "good mates". They are kinda trying to tell nick that that he can trust them as friends, they are basically just waiting for him to tell them by himself. So the response in that moment from the two of them is bc they know the "good mates" comment is awkward af for nick lol
Love your reactions and comments btw!
Also I absolutely LOVE how they used the typical awkward Wes Anderson style for the scene after their date :D
I seriously have to get around to watching Wes Anderson movies…
@@nickreacts6394Start with "Bottlerocket". Then, either "Rushmore" or "The Royal Tennenbaums". I prefer the latter but if you want to go chronologically "Rushmore" should be first. They're both great.
A big part of his visual style is the symmetry of his scenes. They characters are frequently placed exactly center. This is what people are referring to in the cinema scene. He also uses color themes really well. And soundtracks. The soundtrack for "The Royal Tennenbaums" is sublime.
i clicked as fast i saw the thumbnail. This show is so amazing and i just love your reactions. Plus you're cute
I find it weird when people say that Paris is an insane school trip. I think it's pretty normal for UK schools to take trips to mainland Europe. My school was terrible but I still had a school history/language trip to Berlin and other people in my year got to go on a language camping trip to France
A lot of Americans are bad with geography and don't know how far away these places are from each other. Also usually the school trips in America rarely cross states lines, most of the time it is kind of big deal if you travel across state lines. Also from the state of Texas myself, you don't have to leave the state for it to be a big deal cause the state is huge. I wish I could travel across Europe, it must be wonderful.
@kaylabounds0615 I hope you are able to gather enough money to travel to even one city in Europe. I see other parts of Europe all the time on TV and it's all so beautiful. Most of what I saw in Berlin was stunning (the rest was heartbreaking due to the fact it was to help with our WWII studies).
It's also interesting to see the differences between things in the US and the UK. We would often go to different areas for trips but the only properly exciting ones were leaving England. We all even got excited to go to Wales, because it's not England 😅
"Moonrise Kingdom" is a Wes Andersen film. A lot of it was filmed in my home State of Rhode Island. Actually, lots of films are made here. The most recent that comes to mind is Hocus Pocus 2.
Anyway, "Moonrise Kingdom" is a really sweet story, set in 1965, of a 12-yo kid who runs away from his scout camp to be with his pen pal, a girl from a typically Wes Andersen family. It's set in a fictional New England coastal town. In the meantime, a violent hurricane is approaching and the grownups are desperately (in Wes Andersen fashion) searching for them.
moonrise kingdom thumbs up. really depends if you like wes anderson. for me his best films are grand budapest hotel and royal tennenbaums. fantastic mr fox if you're into stop-motion animation.
Oh I actually have seen Fantastic Mr. Fox (reacted to it awhile back) I loved that movie
I resonate with Isaac so much on the reading part 😆
You should really read "Solitaire" which is a whole book about Tori, written from her POV :)
But you must not forget to give a Trigger Warning about Ben‘s storyline in that book.
I hope they adapt the story into a Heartstopper spinoff show cause that would be awesome!

Yes, and with the same actress!!
I had a similar experience to this storyline. I'm from the US and I went with a group to France in high school. And we went to Paris. And like Nick, I was probably the best french speaker of our group. A few people even thought I was native. And like Charlie, someone came along only because they had a crush on me. There was a girl who spoke mayyyybe three words of french, who obviously had no reason to go, but went to follow me. I had zero interest in her, because I'm a gay guy. She later told people we were dating, which pissed me off.
And I touched the Eiffel Tower. Sadly, I had no bfs then, so I never kissed anyone in HS... and I never got to touch their towers.
Moon rise kingdom is worth watching!
My favorite is The royal tennanbaums
Thank you Nick, for your lovely reactions. Thank you commenters for the tip about Solitaire. Thank you Wes Anderson for all your movies. 👍🏻 Thank you Alice for Heartstopper.
For me, it was this episode where I realized that distance-wise, it's like going to Portland, Oregon for me. And for excitement? San Fran. SO WEIRD that they are that close...
Moonrise Kingdom is definitely a thumbs up!
Love hearing your comments of the episodes at the end of each video! Super excited for the rest of them 🍂
Definitely here to start the campaign to get Ben added to the Villain Pub on HISHE
Les Mis is actually a really good novel
(And yes, it is allowed to skip waterloo, evan thought I didnt)
The Grand Budapest Hotel is the best Wes Anderson movie in my opinion! You’d love it
Nick is THEE perfect boyfriend. Ben is a lump of chewed gum you find on the bottom of a park bench.
Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr. Farouk. BTW, he's telling the server at the restaurant that his has allium intolerance (which makes me love him even more because I have allium intolerance), something NO ONE wants to have, especially in France.
Nuh-uh. Charlie kissed Nick so Nick won the challenge.
That face, the hair, the smile, the eyes, I can’t 🫠
I love your reference to the Villain Pub from HISHE!
i love tao. Nicks mom is so supportive and more understanding than charlie’s parents tho honestly.
I loved Moonrise Kingdom!!!
Moonrise Kingdom 👍🏼. It’s the sweetest Wes Anderson movie.
I watched heart stopper and felt like one of the students.
Then I realized I'm the same age as Mr Farouk.....
Love your reaction 😊
I went too ardeche with ny skl and we stopped in paris on the way. It really isnt like this with a skl
Don’t forget these are all 16-year-old kids who are figuring themselves out. Having been in the closet myself until I was 19 (back in the ‘70s and early ‘80s), I can understand some of Ben’s behavior, such as dating a girl hoping that it would somehow make me straight. I was more considerate than Ben, though.
Ben is bi tho, he doesn’t do it to be straight. He does it because he likes them and it’s safer for him to only be half of himself. But he is bisexual
Super Duper lots of fun. Thanks!
Idk if you missed it or just didn’t show it on TH-cam but I feel like you missed some hints to something big in episode 4 lol.
To be honest I probably missed it, it’s a pattern with me watching reactions as my Buffy fans know well haha
💙Nick & Charlie 💛
Moonrise Kingdom a quirky and unconventional rom/com between two 12yr olds with the dry humor/delivery from Wes Anderson productions.
I'm really enjoying your reactions to this terrific series. It's really heartening for an older gay man like myself to see young straight men be so cool and supportive about gay love stories - that would have been almost unimaginable when I was young. One question for you, out of curiosity - why did you change your channel from "Thor reacts" to "Nick reacts?"
