It might be good to get some racing advice from Abbie Eaton before trying this again 😅 th-cam.com/video/WCPBd7o5pH0/w-d-xo.html
Btw which is episode is this?
Can I watch it on india🥲
Are we finally going to get a new episode? Or is Amazon still going to do this bullshit releasing one episode every two to three years?
Would you use your mother's name as a cuss word?
Yet you use the Creator who have you your mum's as a word of disgust?
@@delli5608 it s an old circuit near Barcelona. I think is in the first season.
@@ElPatron42069 Nothing to do with Amazon. The boys just don't want to do series any more, just the occasional special.
Man these guys really do risk their lives for our entertainment. I don't blame Hammond a bit for passing 🤣🤣
and he's the one with an actual racing certification
@@dbunik44 True, you know it's risky when the guy who genuinely knows what he's doing is uncomfortable with a situation lol!
If Hammond had stacked it..
His wife Mindy would have bloody killed him
@@richieb7692 If it hadn't killed him already.
I’m pretty sure there were stunt doubles in the car
You know Jeremy and James were honestly terrified because they literally didn’t mock Hammond at all for opting out.. 😂
I can’t remember if this was before or after he flew off the hillside in the electric car on the grand tour, but even ignoring that Hammond has had the largest share of their crashes. He felt those bumps in the convertible and said nope not this one and I don’t blame him lol. Nothing between his head and whatever is on the other side of that bank
3:30 what an insane shot.
Makes me wonder what kind of shots they really put together. It's fascinating.
@@digitalcamaro9708 it really is. Their cinematography on Grand Your is something else
@@JakeFromTH-cam Ever seen the Penzoil commercials? The magic behind the shots is so cool.
@@digitalcamaro9708 oh yeah Pennzoil has some of the best commercials ever 🤣 one of my favorites is the BMW on the frozen lake
@@JakeFromTH-cam and the sounds are so over the top I love it
Clarkson was genuinely terrified. He usually has jokes in the middle of whatever he’s doing/driving but he was thinking about not dying and not dying ONLY lmao
Thanks to James May, Richard Hammond and Jeromy Clarkson for their entertainment, they helped me and I'm sure millions of other people tremendously get through this pandemic.
*extended flu season
They stuck covid in whenever they could during the scamdemic 99.85% survivable bs! So thats a no from me.
@@markyboy531 I feel sorry for your elderly relatives, that you're still here for them to feel sorry for!
Jeromy is awesome
@@shotlite8762 Don't forget Jamos and Richord.
Gotta have some balls to go that fast round that bumpy old track. Things can go wrong in an instant and for Hammond it normally does. 😅 🤪👍👍👍
stop being a drama queen
That's why they didn't let Hammond on that Track!
@@brain8484 😮😮😮😮😮
@@AstroPC96 it’s not that they didn’t let him, he (wisely) CHOSE not to! Lol
You know a track is dangerous when Jermey is scared to drive on it!
You know it's EXTRA dangerous when Hammond outright refuses to race on it 😅
@@thegrandtour 😄
@@thegrandtour
In fairness, they all agreed to do a practice lap!
And he looked genuinely scared most of the time.
@@thegrandtour I mean Hammond was in a convertible... On a high banked turn...I wouldn't want to either
May - "If you go off the edge... "
Clarkson - "Yeah?"
May - "It's oblivion."
Clarkson - "Well the tree will stop us, won't it?"
Hammond - "NO."
Hamster - the absolute AUTHORITY on going over the edge. Listen to the voice of experience. He's done all the worst mistakes so that you don't have to! 😅
The thing that’s funny is it corrected Hammond to hamster
@@RandomRothbardian And it IS Hammond’s nickname, just as Captain Slow is James’ and Jezza or Orangutan is Jeremy’s…
Man I don't think I'd be too scared if the track was smooth, but those bumps were making me clench up pretty tight just watching.
a bump can make you go over 4 feet is a terrifying statement, considering you die if you go off the edge
Out of all people, Civic Type R have awoken the racing spirit of James May. Truly a thing of beauty!
Civics arent my thing, although I would never buy one I do think thats a beautiful looking civic
Let us not forget that James May has not only driven faster than Clarkson and Hammond (259 mph in a Bugatti Veyron), he's also been to space in a U-2 spy plane, and, despite his overwhelming fear of heights, once flew a tow-behind caravan across England.
James May is easily the most extreme member of the trio hands down.
@@IRLTheGreatZarquonru forgetting when Hammond crashed a rocket drag car at 315mph? Hammond has gone by far the fastest on land
I'd bow to Hammond's intelligence in this one,... again!
Couldn’t get insured ,,,, no one would touch him apparently.
I love the sheer terror in their faces as they drive and hit bumps
The bumps in the corners where the suspension is under heavy load already is just begging something to break.
It didn’t look like it had any suspension, I’ve got more suspension in my mattress
@@supersonicsid5930 oh it does have a suspension
the chassis itself
0:28 "not if it's swapping it for DB11" 🤣🤣🤣
That DBR is gorgeous! I think I would rather go slow in that car, then fast in the civic type r.
It sounds amazing, real goose-bumps noise.
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow
Yeah that sounds amazing.
@@ShaunHensley well.. Even the civic isn't all that fast lol.
It’s really got a great lookin paint job!
Practice laps told me one thing, I don't want to do it.😂😂 Priceless and don't blame him
You can here the transmission more than the engine in Jezzas car
God old straight cut
It’s such a cool sound.
I've driven that exact car and others of the same and similar models, I have a feeling that this one may have gone back to the Aston Heritage workshop and had a new set of gears chucked in the box because it seems a bit more prominent than when I drove it.
They all whine, and have that lovely geary sound when you lift but what's more to the point is, to be honest, they're a bit of a blancmange to drive and whilst the drum brakes are very good for their era you'll be making clench marks in the seat covers if you find yourself leaning on them.
What an old Classic Aston does best, is "spirited wafting" with a bit of A road fun thrown in here and there. Lovely smooth old tubs to drive, bags of character and charm in spadefuls but driving one as hard as Jeremy did here really took some doing and isn't their forté without serious sorting.
@@restojon1 yo , I had to Google what blancmange was to understand your comment, You know quite a lot about these cars . Thank you for giving out the details.
The first time I have heard the sound of Straight cut gears is from a video game ( 2005 NFS most wanted , from the M3 GTR) and I have to say it is a sweet sound .
The racing video felt like a movie, the cute were amazing and was done nicely. The editors deserve some praise
4:04
My heart dropped for him. Couldn't imagine that rush
That back end jumping out scared me too. 😅
*”ITS OBLIVION”*
Outstanding Captain Slow, outstanding.
The bumps causing jumps four feet to the right reminds me of the crosswinds on the NJTP. Absolutely terrifying when I'm driving 70+ in my little Corolla and I feel the wind trying to blow me to the side, but I don't think it's by four feet.
3:23 "It's made the windscreen wipers come on!" Yes, because that's the most interesting part of the absolutely absurd speed bumps they're hitting. Imagine going at speeds like this and you graze a bump and suddenly your left blinker is flashing.
The "No" was so genuine that it could be replaced with " i wouldn't want to try it" and it still would have the same enegy
I miss these grand tours. Wish we could have them back.
I Love that! "Having decided he didn't want to buy the farm, he went to buy a farmhouse instead!"
Seeing you crazy guys having so much fun gives me hope for the future :)
Oh man have these guys always made me excited to watch them race straight up stig level stuff!!!
Yeah, this was already terrifying *before* I was made aware that when your car loses traction there you shift *to the right* instead of downward... 😱
Dude never EVER would I do it. These guys have balls of steel
God I love the sound of that Aston. Glorious.
This is the most awesome thing I’ve seen in like a week
That Poor Aston........ I'm surprised there wasn't an oil or fuel starvation issue....
nice to see Richard had the good sense to leave the Jagwah out of the shenanigans too.
That said.... 4 or so MPH difference between the Honda and the Aston is pretty impressive considering the massive gap in technology between the 2.
Wuh.... Wuhllll ........ Well Done James! (There I said it)
I think at that angle it was more like who dares to go faster
@@anoia7783 Nahhh, just rattling drawers as they thunder past :-P
Aston sounds awesome also
When you're doing 90MPH on a banked oval, the forces involved would be pulling oil and fuel outwards like the rest of the car, into the "bottom" of the oil pan and fuel tank.
The car would think that's the direction gravity is pulling everything, so no starvation problems.
Having said that, it's not impossible that the race prepped Aston has been converted to a dry sump oiling system, so the entire discussion may be moot.
@@cbiltcliffe Yes, but at the same time it would be likely experiencing more than 1G of acceleration, and that's where the pumps might have become an issue
Who's here after watching a short
At first I thought it was the banked part of old Monza... Anyway, one of the greatest videos I've seen of this trio.
Reminds me of that famous period photo of the Napier-Railton on the Brooklands banking with all four wheels off the deck.
0:00 I've seen it so many times, but still manage to give me a laugh every time I rewatching this part.. 3 fat old men doing Michael Jackson anti gravity lean...😂
"Annie, you OK
You Ok
You OK, Annie?
You've been hit by
You've been struck by
A Smooth Criminal."
"If you go off the edge... it's oblivion."
I tell that line to myself when I'm driving in certain canyon roads. One I'm thinking of in particular is 1 lane, 2-way, very bumpy, and no guard rail before a massive sheer drop. It's a really fun road, but nooooo thankyou!
I like the way Clarksond and May looks while driving on such track. Their faces were not gimmicks at all indeed I can tell you.
These three are my favorite comedic trio.
I loved when Clarkson says the trees will stop you, won't that.
Hammond pipes up no 🤣🤣
Fair fuckinh play James! That bank actually looked scary. I can imagine an F1 car losing control at 320kmph and flying off that end.
I was raggin on the bumps till his windshield wipers went on, absolutely love these three
It's nice to know they are making a new episode, I've gotten addicted to these three old codgers(they're actually my age) hope they can do a few more now that most of the covid restrictions have eased up. It would be nice if they could use Abby again if she heals up right
Wait, we are finally getting more?
You guys are vicious!! 🔥👍👍
These are shot so brilliantly
Those straight cut gears of the Aston Martin
The race was epic
yooo this is Sitges in Spain i've been there lots of times!! I spent many days there when i was a child!! Love to see you guys there!
That took some real driving there, I've driven that Aston and many others of the same era and they're a great big blancmange. The drum brakes are enough to turn your upholstery a funny colour too, if you lean on them too much your seat will end up looking like the exit of Clearways, that said I'm pretty sure that this one's been through the Aston Martin Heritage workshop which may explain the slightly louder than usual gear whine and very standard looking suspension setup.
Love love love James May ♥️♥️♥️
Hammond was like...no hospital for me this time I'm good lol
Who doesn’t love these guys
Awesome
The look of terror on Jeremy’s face the whole time
VERY ballsy!!…and REALLY cool!! 👍👍😎
Damn. That Aston sounds absolutely gorgeous!
The tree will stop us wont it?😂😂😂sounds solid
Although i did not manage to get in and be on the track, the sight of the track (especially the banked curve) from a hill near it was unbelievable.
Why not? Is there security guardas or something?
@@JnManuelAG There was some sort of private event or something at the time in the centre
*The beginning of this video made me think what's this video about these guys are so funny* 🤣
I love this because it really shows how bad the Honda civic suspension is for a 2020s car compared to an older car's suspension.
Maaannn!!- id love to have a run at that track!!!
It's amazing, I live right next to it
Downforce is a blessing and a curse on a track like that
Kudos to the camera crew.
Honestly, that looks so fun. Scary as hell, but fun.
That looks like sm fun
Considering the 'modern day' suspension and other improved bits n bobs on Mays car, I think Jezza did well in that older car!. 🙂 Nuff said.
100% want to try this!
Richard Hammond knows from experience that the tree won’t stop you.😂
The interior of the DB4 looks so fricken nice
1:51 when you come out of the toilet at a party with Charlie Sheen
ok but the beautiful sound of the straight cut gears
The whine from the Aston Martins straight cut gears is like music
That db sounds amazing
Got to love the potholes
DAMB!!! THAT'S 😁 FUNNY!!!!
Sure do miss these blokes!!!
The Three ******** LEGENDS :D
hammond made a good choice
Hammond's car (Jaguar XKSS) was literally a "continuation" series of an older car. Built exactly like the originals, with the same materials and outdated processes. Jeremy's car was too, but it was made with newer safety standards. The Hamster made a wise choice, he already knew what it feels to cheat death.
Man, that would be great on a motorcycle, you can ride completely parallel with the ground without having wrecked
For anyone that's interested, it's season 2 episode 8, blasts from the past.

The transmission whine on that Aston is heavenly.
Were those possibly straight cut gears?
They sound all business...👍
No cause the tree will stop it won’t it 😂
That Aston made a nice noise. Or should I say the engine noise was nice because there was also some banging lol.
Has anybody seen this man’s show where he is running a farm? 🤣 😂. It’s great!
the Aston sounds incredible
I can’t imagine the terror but it looks so fun
The trio should do a special with Rowen Atkinson. That would be hilarious, plus he is a car guy.
they already it in top gear
Apparently, they have asked him many times but he never responded. The only reason he made a brief appearance on Top Gear was to promote a Johnny English film.
There goes the alignments
champions for linking this from the shorts 🏆
Clarkson is an automotive legend
bruh that supercharger in the Aston sounds awesome!
that aston sounds absolutely devine
He said God I'm so brave.🤣
It's like watching an IRL GTA wall ride 😂😂
When you need soft suspension with tons of suspension travel for better turns 🤣
The tree will stop us🗿🤣
That Aston Martin sounds beautiful
That guy with the speedometer was really brave
I haven't watched these guys since the "Top Gear" days.
Awesome to see their still pit there tearing it up.
Did they by chance bring "The Stig" with them?
no in season 1 they have an american NASCAR truck, driver as " the stig" but hes not covered and you know who he is. ( Mike Skinner)
but they scripted him to talk and act like a bumpkin and an idiot so the euro fans AND US fans hated it
they then hired Abby Eaton for season 2 and 3 who is a female driver and quite good.
season 4 and now 5 has no track day stuff and is just the wacky cheap car adventures.
@@ripvanwinkle2002 nice, thanks for the response. I'll have to catch up on some of the episodes.
Bummer about the no more stigg and no more track days.
Still worth checking out though I'm sure
@@vegeta420z6 well the crazy car stuff is still good and some of it, (dont want to spoil it) does some EPIC stuff..
lets just say in one episode they got Bentley to play along and the results are AMAZING..
Richard’s car likely had the best visibility range for the banking, because in his car, you could look up and actually see where you’re going without a roof in the way.
