If the piston hit and damaged the valves then be careful in reusing the old cams. The lobes do bend as well-just not noticeable at first glance. Happened to me.

The problem it's in the exhaust valve , it is melted, piston didn't touched the valves! The car is driving already for a long time! All good! Except that it is consuming oil but I did a research and is specific for this model and year , they have this defect from factory and consuming oil!
@@valeriumoscalu7580 the oil consumption is most likely due to piston rings. A good idea to change the oil every 3k miles as they did many years ago and car would last longer. The tfsi was a very poorly designed engine and I think it was intentional so people would have to buy new cars.
I know there is a new model of piston rings and with them the oil consumption is much smaller but the work is expansive so no many people a willing to pay for it!
did you not have to lock the camshafts off at any point?
Was it difficult to reinstall the camshaft without having to open up the lower timing cover? Did you have an issue getting the camshaft back around the timing chain?
Do you happen to know the torque specifications for the valve cover bolts? Thanks
What issues were you having that required the cam removal ?
Melted exhaust valve! 0 compression in cylinder nr.40 removed the cylinder head and replaced all exhaust valves!
hi stupid question, at 1:37 when you are rotating the timing chain. Where exactly are you turning to do this?
Clockwise
in the crank bolt, ALWAYS ALWAYS CLOCKWISE!
