- Taken Oct 27th 2023 with the ABAO Bilbao Opera in Spain. Nadine Sierra makes her first solo "bis" with Gounod's challenging and famous 2nd aria of Juliette. This performance is the 2nd time she sang the aria after being encouraged by the audience from a 2 minute ovation.
Nadine Sierra’s is one of this generation’s finest young sopranos and seems to light up the stage whenever she is singing. Sierra’s coloratura is effortless and her voice has a lovely fluidity.

Nadine Sierra is my favorite soprano. I have gone to every opera she has performed in New York City and sometimes I’ll go 2 times because her performances are so impeccable. Her technique, her beautiful tone, her voice placement & her dynamics are magnificent as well as her acting. I could go on and on. I’ve had my tickets for Romeo and Juliet for many months for the Metropolitan Opera, New York City in 2024. I can’t wait. Nadine you are a gift to us. I’m a professional singer, not operatic, but I do know the amount of work & dedication it takes. You are the best❤

She embodies the joy of singing and communicating it to her audience. Her gracious acceptance of the applause bespeaks a modesty and humility and appreciation that is palpably genuine. Nadine defines the term diva in the best sense of the word. The performance of Romeo et Juliette I attended in March was one I shall never forget.

Estuve allí! Fui de los afortunados que disfrutó de esas dos arias (son dos en realidad!!) el pasado viernes en Bilbao. Su puesta en escena, madurez, pasión nos hace subir con ella al escenario cante lo que cante. Manon, Violetta, Gilda, Julieta, etc etc. Ojalá la competencia se ponga las pilas para que Nadine se supere a sí misma. Gracias Nadine!!

In some respects, Nadine Sierra “journey” is the triumph of a deep monogamous love over wandering carnality. Vocally, Nadine delivered a blend of impeccable technique with emotion and feeling. Her trills were a delight, her top notes smooth and easy, and her legato milky. She easily soared over the orchestra, even at the busiest moments, and there was a vocal confidence there palpable in her delivery.

I've seen her twice at MET in New York this season in 2024, mostly to see her sing this. Audience in Bilbao is lucky to have an encore still in 2024. At least MET and Royal Opera in London do not allow encores anymore and just move on after applause. Thank you for posting this so that I can relive the incredible experiences.
How intense and painful is her voice
Not exactly. I’ve still seen MET do encores here and there. As long as there is opera, encores will never die, and I’m gonna do my part to make sure they don’t.
