What fuses could they be in a 2011 X5? Does un soldering and soldering reset the synchronization of the fob to the car because with the new battery it doesn’t work? The locking and unlocking central button in the car works, the physical key opens and closes the car, it’s just the fob when I click the buttons doesn’t do anything. It’s a non CA fob. Any help is greatly appreciated! Went to the BMW dealership and they said they needed to run a diagnostics report for $165 and that if it’s just a new key fix it could range to $600. Is this necessary?
If my car key still have battery, but the keyless entry does not work when I put in pocket. Unless I hold the key and put my hand on the door handle, then onli can unlock the car. Whatcha the possible problem?
Hey Nathan! so I have that key that doesn't open and i ordered the spare case and want to swap over the old internals into the new case with the Walmart battery you mentioned. Does that require any soldering? or do I simply slide the replaceable 2032 lithium-ion where that purple OEM rechargeable battery used to be at and close it up in the new case? Thanks and let me know!
Justin C try Carly app its about $60 plus the adapter another $50-60 But its well worth it because you can program or code mostly anything you want to it. Yea its $120 but you can program ypur own battery and key, which dealer wants to charge and arm and a leg lol
Hi I have a question my 2007 bmw 530xi Wagon with push start and The ignition slot keeps spitting the key out like it doesn’t lock in there do you know what can be wrong with it
Hi Nathan, my remote locking won't work, completely unresponsive. I've had the battery changed in the fob and I've checked all the relevant fuses, all good. Any ideas what else could be the problem?
haven't tried yet, but heard adding some backing behind circuit board to give more support for buttons often fixes issues. Plan to do it soon as my middle button doesn't work, so have to use key to lock, unlock and start work fine.
Hey nathan. Engine cradel is a god send however buddy. If you try this on an e60 the weight of the engine does damage to the aluminium wings/fenders. Bkw have a special one for those models that fits onto the strut towers buddy👍🤙
Ok I really need help, I have a key fob that worked when I bought my 2011 328i it worked great never showed signs of slowing, but I locked it one day and I couldn’t unlock it the fob quit working hasn’t worked since, except one time earlier today it locked when I was taking the key out of the fob, I have the non openable case but I broke it and bought a new case what should I do?
I have an 08 328i and both keys don’t work, I’ve changed the battery and I’ve checked the fuse for the antenna and everything is good. What should I do next?
Nice vid, luckily my two original key fobs (non Comfort Access) are still running fine on their original batteries! The key (excuse the pun) is to cycle the key fobs every now and again so that they all stay charged up and healthy! With that said, I did have an odd thing happen a year or so ago when I grabbed the key that hadn't been used for a while and took the car for a drive. Immediately I was greeted with a key fob battery error on my E90's cluster, and this was also present when I used the other key fob which I had been using prior to this. So, it had me confused and concerned as you can imagine. I then took the car for a long drive with the key fob that was presumably flat and it made no difference. But then I had a bright spark moment and realised that the car was unlocked and never locked from the time I started using this key fob again, so I stopped, removed the key fob, locked the car and after a minute or so, unlocked and inserted the key fob, problem solved! So it must have simply lost sync or communication with the car's electronics somehow that it didn't accept the battery. After that both key fobs were fine again, weird!
I have a question? I did this and my key works to unlock lock and turn on dash. Is there any chance this will not start the car and need to be programmed?
The classic 2032 = 20mm diameter and 3.2mm thickness ... 2032 ... also try and grab the CR versions, as in CR2032, as they are specifically made for electronic devices ... the Panasonic batteries are the most stable and longer lasting (85-95% capacity) ...
Note - the "NON" Comfort Access Key (the one you HAVE to tear apart) - That one you have to use the "stupid" rechargeable oem style battery - as the ignition has a coil that charges that sealed battery style case. The "Comfort" access version - that one you can simply replace the battery - no soldering iron needed. That one is NOT rechargeable. One other thing: You can safely open the case without hurting yourself by using a xacto knife blade, and place in the prong that is on the upper right - once you have blade in there - swivel / twist and it will break open - this way you're not increasing the odds of injury by trying to cut around the entire case. Moral to the story here: NON Comfort Key = rechargeable battery = if you can get it to work = less replacements as often - assuming the new battery is not junk - so far only the "made in indonesia" ones can be found on Amazon. Comfort Key = easy street - replace your battery and you're good to go - NOT rechargeable so in "theory" you're replacing more often but you get the "convenience" (lol) of not having to put the key in the ignition holder like we're in 1997 still...
Hey, i hope my question it is not irrelevant here. I didnt use my bmw f10 525D 2010 car throuh winter that resulted in a dead car battery.. i managed to get the battery out from the car and charged it. Since then my key fob wont lock or unlock any doors. When i manually open the alarm set off until i put the key to the sign and turn ignition on. Car starts this was and drives but it is very annoying. There were a fuw blown fuse for the locking circle that i all changed. Changed batteries in the key fob(2 of them) . Also changed the diversity antenna. Still no solved. Any idea anyone ?

I changed the battery in my key, (no comfort access). Ignition works, but when I try to unlock or lock the car the key doesn’t function. Would it need recoding or is the battery faulty? Thanks
CR2032 Battery get one of them, I changed it two months ago and it’s been great since. You need a soldering iron to replace the battery with the old one. If you can replace it properly the key should work. Before that I purchased a replacement key cover because I didn’t want to glue the original key again if it didn’t work but luckily it worked and just clipped the new one together.
@@sandrotorre9390 Does this apply to fobs glued together? Am I gonna find a CR2032 in there and should I buy a rechargeable one or ordinary one still does the job?
This is soo wrong. CR2032 is not rechargeable battery. You are putting nonrechargeable battery in that remote. Origionally there are rechargeable batterys in these remotes witch are recharges while driving

Your so wrong about the battery. It should be a rechargable battery . Now it Will overload and burn

How do you replace the battery in the fob that is actually the key with just a thicker thumb turn area with buttons?
What if I replaced the battery in my key fob and it still won’t work at all aside from putting it in the ignition and I can start my car.
Did u ever fix it?
I have a question, I have a 2010 750li and the car is just saying ignition on but want start the car what I need to do? It's the push start..
Isn’t the ignition suppose to charge the fob battery?
It does charge but you must drive for long journey at leat 6 to 8 hours
Is there a way to program keys to your car? I don’t wanna go to get one from the dealer and have them program it.... too expensive. :(
