Great video, very informative. How does the Leshiy 2 not fall into the pistol category if it’s under 24 inches when folded? I was under the impression it was because it couldn’t be fired when folded but I think you said the HP max couldn’t be fired when folded but still came under pistol status? Thanks.
The HP Max can still be fired/shot when folded, that was the main issue. For any gun to be classed as a rifle in the UK, it has to have a barrel length of at least 12 inches and an overall length of 24 Inches when it's in an operational state (when it can be fired/shot). As the HP Max would still shoot when folded, that is why I have had to do what I've done. With the Leshiy 2, as it doesn't shoot when folded it is perfectly fine as when unfolded to shoot, it is then over the 24 inch length *with a 350mm barrel* 🤔
I'm not sure of thread sizes but there is my mock up picture that I sent to my guy to make on my chat group. Come join if you like ? mewe.com/join/aeahpmax
The HP Max is a bolt action (not semi auto). I believe the HP SS is the semi auto version but I was told that the bolt actions are a lot less problematic. To date I have probably shot about 2500 pellets through it with no issues as it really is a solid piece of kit. 👍🏻
The regulator is adjustable but not easily done, but Huma do now make and sell a better one. You would however still have to strip the gun down and make the transfer port hole larger for better air consumption.
Cost wise it was about £1000.00 more expensive by the time I had made all of the improvements for the UK market. Although Huma do now sell the regulator, the solid butt end part is not available to my knowledge so you'd have to have one specially made like I did.
Nice setup. I hate that you have that sub 12 fpe rule. Why .30 instead of the .25? Just curious because I would think it would be better to have a faster moving lighter pellet. Also, is there a reason you picked the bolt action MAX over the semi auto SS? Since you have a limitation on power, the power you lose is the SS would not be a problem for you. I have the AEA HP SS .30 that I like alot. Been using the PCPs a few years now but still learning everything I can about them.
The HP Max is not available in .25. .30 is the smallest calibre available. I chose the bolt action as it is much less problematic the the semi auto version. The SS semi auto function will not work in Sub 12 ft lb. For that feature to work requires higher powers which would then make it illegal here in the UK. Thanks for watching.
@@5euk That you for the info. I didn't know the SS needed that much power for semi. I learn something new every day. You can turn the SS into a bolt action but I understand why you went the way you did. Like I said before, nice setup.
@@MWS67 Of course yes. It is an owner’s responsibility to ensure a gun is legal. If you’ve watched the video you’ll clearly see I test the power with a chronograph ??!!!

Would it be legal if the folding stop was simply welded to prevent it being foldable?
How did u increase it to 12ftlbs. Is it by turning the gauge inside the regulator like u did ? Or is there any other components involved.
