GUYS. Im sorry! UMG took down 4 of the songs in this video. I thought since the clips were short and used as samples that I would be fine. Turns out no. If you experience holes in sound on a few demos that is why. Sorry for the trouble.

A middle class car will bring you in a very good way from point a to b, but you will not be able to win a F1 race with this car. It is like UWQHD Gaming with above 144 Hz and Ultra Settings on a perfect calibrated monitor. The limit is expensive.
Or drinking a Glass of 1937 Domain Romaneé Conti instead of a good spanish red wine. Wearing a Patek Grande Complication watch and a Kiton suit instead of a normal Longines and a Hugo Boss suit.
The truth is: Most humans could not afford the best of the best.
Most humans listen to compressed spotify files or compressed YT Vids.
It is all about the last 5%.
Dali Zensor 3 are fine speakers, which will satisfy any human being up to 95%. The price increases rapidly above the 95% with 20.000 $ silver speaker cables, the rare japanese vinyl pressing, the Transrotor Artus FMD, MCIntosh Amplifiers and a perfect pair of speakers.
By the way - Active Geithain Speakers are the best ones, I have ever listen to.
I love the purity of the MEG sound. But I can not afford 'em.
I got Dali Speakers. Am I unhappy or envy? No, because many human beings are struggeling with real poverty and hunger, as I did in my early years. But I love to dream about the limits. :)

I say outrageous because it is multiples of $$$ beyond my comforts in spending. For some people spending that much on speakers is normal. Just like how we have ultra expensive cars. People not familiar with extreme high-end audio may not understand this. You’ve heard it said that it sounds like you’re really there. That’s not what happens here. It becomes almost scary, because you truly have the sensation that there is a physical presence in the room. And you can pinpoint the exact spot in the room that they are in. This becomes so compelling and so engaging, that for those that can afford this, it’s easily worth it.

I’ve been an audiophile for 30 years and have installed audio and video equipment for 20 for residential, commercial, and professional sound reinforcement applications. I’ve owned a ton of speakers(all bought used) but no way I’d ever spend not even over $1000 for a pair of speakers when I can just build my own to my standards. I’ve heard many expensive speakers and I can’t ever recall being totally blown away by anything. The bottom line is that when you go to a live performance they’re not using any of these high end speakers. You’re hearing some horn loaded speakers from JBL, EV, LAcoustics, Meyer, Renkus Heinz, Peavey, etc. And it sounds good to you doesn’t it? The people that can afford these speakers shown here are usually not even true audiophiles. They just have deep pockets. After a certain dollar figure speakers become conversation pieces just like artwork. Mark up on audio equipment is ridiculous. I’ve seen from 100% to 1000%. So keep that in mind the next time you buy new speakers.

Yes. I started with a $1k system at a teenager and worked my way up to my current system. It is diminishing returns though a $100k system doesn't sound twice as good as a $50k system. I listened to a $250k system the other day and it sounded amazing but probably only twice as good as a $50k system. It's subjective I know but the simple answer is you can't get amazing sound out of cheap systems. You can get good sound but not amazing sound. Most people don't set their speakers up ideally or deal with their room acoustics. A friend of mine bought a $15k system the other day which sounded amazing in the store in their listening room but rubbish at home as he set it up in a room with a tiled floor and two walls of glazing with no curtains. He could put a $100k system in that room and it would sound rubbish compared to a $4k system in a room with decent volume and acoustics.

You can appreciate quality without having to buy it. I understand that these are out of almost all of our means, but for the price of admission to AXPONA its worth it to check out the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Same addage goes. You can have an inexpensive car and make it faster and look better but it wont have the prestige of a ferrari. I'll never own a ferrari but i can admire it for what it is.

A long time ago, when CD was just maturing the 8x Oversampling Players began to arrive, I didn't noticed much difference from the 4X Oversampling ones... until I played Dire Strait's "Brothers in Arms"... I was totally impressed to notice the stellar sound quality of the recording (Using Martin Logan ESL's). We made ABX blind testing and yes, 100% of the time I was able to distinguish 4X from 8X Oversampling Players, but failed into the "Random" when trying other regular recordings... So I think that "Brothers in Arms" might be the most well recorded Rock/Pop Album ever.

@@igalaviz Also the "loudness wars" in the CD era pushed sound engineers to increase the loudness of an album so that when played on the radio their songs would stand out merely by being louder. The effect is that quiet sections of music got louder but the loud parts didn't have any room to expand. The difference between the loudest and quietest sections of music is what makes music more dynamic and this loudness obsession was compressing that separation between loud and quiet. Dire Straits albums tend to have a high dynamic range: dr.loudness-war.info/album/list?artist=Dire%20Straits

you underestimate wealth. most are under 50. regardless, hearing does not normally deteriorate only due to age. people who have lived their life with a passion for sound protect their hearing. here is the dumb aspect of high end audiophile setups, you can't sound better than live and live doesn't cost 100k... to add to that, nearly all the music featured use things like guitar amplifiers or other music that is electronic or played through speakers while recorded... so the sound quality is literally completely made up past a certain point, and that point is definitely not 100k. these people are morons.
