Picked up a 2020 Fender Player HSS cherry burst strat, and paired it with a Boss Katana 50 MKII amp. It is my first Fender, and as an intermediate player I could not justify paying over $1000 for a guitar. I paid under $1000 for the guitar and amp and love it.
Sounds like an awesome combination you’ve got yourself! I bet that cherry burst strat looks gorgeous! Boss katanas are brilliant bang for buck, it’s crazy how greater sound you can get on a very reasonable budget! Thanks for watching ! :)
As much as I do like Strat`s, and own two of them, I also like other types of guitars, cuz lets face it, variety is the spice of life, and I`m sure that like many of you, I play different guitars for very different reasons, and to get specific tones from them. Its true that the Strat is a very versatile instrument, no argument there, but its not capable of doing everything, and just occasionally you might want a sound that a Strat just can`t deliver, but other makes can. eg, L.P`s, ES.335`s, Rickenbacker`s, Gretsch`s and so on. however, the Strat is still a good choice, and every guitarist should have at least one in their arsenal. 😎🎸
I actually couldn’t agree with you more! However versatile it is it’ll never be able to do the job of a Les Paul, Jazzmaster, 335 ext… and all of those guitars are fantastic In there own right! But I think personally if I was forced to sell all guitars but one my Stratocaster would probably be staying, but let’s hope that never happens😆 Thanks for watching!
Aside from the content, in the 6 months you have been posting on You Tube, you're videos have become more and more polished partly due to the comments you get back. Well done! Great to see the John Mayer Fender artist guitar in action! He should get a mention as one of the greats who use the Stratocaster also. And still think you should add "probably" in front of the title! 🙂
Epic video bro, love this content you're making. Very unique and of such a great quality considering you've only recently started. Keep it up man, I can't wait to see where you go with your channel
Great sit down on the iconic Fender Stratocaster I own the American 1954 Stratocaster 2014 60th anniversary commemorative gold hardware burst model it's a great guitar that's for sure can't live without it! Lol" the frets wear out like there's no tomorrow only thing I don't like about the guitar they don't wear out as fast as my nickel silvers on my Gibsons now those suck! 😂... There is no better sound than a fender Stratocaster it's definitely a one of a kind tone and for the telecaster to or the Les Paul lol" I love them all it's really hard to say what is the best I don't categorize a guitar that way because if I'm playing a SRV or Hendrix tune it has to be played with the Stratocaster if I want that Memorex sound if it's a country twang the telecaster is my go to if it's led Zeppelin/Bad company/Molly Hatchet ECT its the les paul to me there all the best guitars ever made lol" my strat has the maple neck my next one will be with a rosewood fretboard I really want a strat with a rosewood fretboard some say there is no difference between the maple neck or rosewood i think there crazy to say that a solid maple neck has a lot of brightness to it in my book compared to the rosewood.. Great video!
Thanks for watching this along with the SRV video! 😆 Agreed, a strat is certainly not the best guitar for every genre! That being said, if I could only own one guitar personally I think it would be a strat! That reissue sounds like a beaut!
@@samwestguitar agreed! I'll be watching ya and bugging you from time to time like I said your definitely worth watching hope you reach the stars on here you have what it takes that's for sure! You doing the SRV setup had to hurt man! Lol" I don't think I have the balls to do that to my fingers lol" and just think SRV used 21 frets that shortened the string length made them more painful I bet 😂
I love a good Strat sound but to me, it only sounds like a Strat. I'm more of a Tele guy myself. I mean, from Jimmy Page on Stairway, Since I've Been Lovin' You and the entire Zep 1 plus more... the Tele's versatility is unmatched. And then there's guys like James Burton. Too cool.
That’s a very understandable opinion, the tones Jimmy page got out of that thing were incredible! tele’s are certainly one of my favourites too! Thanks for watching!
@@samwestguitar Yeah. I didn't wanna take anyone's thunder here. I do love the Strat and its slinky ability. I mean, there would be no Hendrix, Stevie Ray or Adrian Belew without one. But again... it's a very narrow sound. And I feel the Tele is always perceived as the ugly duckling, because... it kinda is. 😂✌
We all know the reason you're a strat player is because David Gilmour is definitely either your dad, or a close relation. Just kidding, but you do look alike. Great vid. I'm a Strat guy too. New sub.
To any of you eagle eyed folks out there, my apologies. There is a small typo, 5.5kg equates to 12 pounds! :)

Is that a John Mayer signature strat?
It is indeed, absolutely love it! Thanks for watching! :)
