What's good TH-cam its DaVizion back again with another MMA Reaction! Today I'm reacting to VoteSport -He Hit Harder Than Tyson! Alistair Overeem - Brutal Knockouts in Kickboxing. Alistair is a mma fighter that even though I know very little about him. He has mad his way into many of my other reactions. Usually in a bad way, but from what Ive heard, Hes a beast in his own right that deserves a reaction. So here we go!

The standing 8 count is when a fighter is taking significant damage without hitting the floor and have 8 seconds to recover and continue similarly to if they were knocked down. It’s up to ref’s discretion and would cause a round to become a 10-8 round.
Alistair was always a fun guy to watch win or lose.

An 8 count is usually in place after a fighter gets knocked down. They have eight seconds (roughly) to get up and show that they can continue.
A standing 8 count means that even though they’re not down on the mat, the ref deems that they’re essentially out on their feet. Thus giving them the eight seconds to see if they can recover.
In kickboxing, there’s often a two knockdown rule, meaning if you’re knocked down (or standing) twice in a round, the fight is over and ruled a TKO.

Overeem was abeast, sadly he relied on his "Mexican supplements" too much

Also his chin was pretty bad. Even as a light heavyweight in pride he did not react well to getting hit
