Props to Becca or whomever is responsible for the B roll. Made this conversation even more engaging!
This edit was all Than (Becka would have done a better job)
@@tidalgardens 🤣
Wow. 15 gallons change a day. That’s crazy to me.
really enjoyed this conversation. thanks for the chance to check out the life of a hardcore reefer... interviewed by a hardcore reefer.
Great to see local guys together again, it has been awhile. Awesome video.
Hey Than, I don't know if you tried already but they sell plastic razor blades on Amazon and they do really good. If the back isn't already really scratched up it should come out really clean.
Excellent, my favorite tank
got a good size chunk of the efflo and echinata from nathan and they're doing so well. really nice guy in person.
Glad to hear they are doing well!
Nice update - made me go shop for some more flow pumps for my systems.
Interesting conversation
My insane plate is almost 3”, but it took quite a while to get that size. So yeah, it’s a very slow grower and my favorite plate by far!
Nice tank !!
Great looking tank, I like that Gorg in the back left. Grube's?
Thanks! It is a purple photosynthetic gorg, a bit different from Grubes.
Than/Nathan how much do you care about daily dkh swings between day and night? I was trying to minimise these by dosing less at night and more in the day but I think this just overcomplicated things. Refreshing to hear someone either such a nice tank day they just test alk by hand just a few times a week rather than a robot that does it multiple times a day!
In the past, I did less at night and more during the day like you. But now I have it evenly spread out across the day. The Alk swing is so small I don't think it makes a difference.
@@NathansReef thanks! I have been trying it spread out evenly for a few days and it's massively helped keep pH higher at both, and the swing is about .5dkh.
Great chat guys, I really enjoy seeing your tank Nathan, I’m curious to know what settings you run your orphek atlantiks at
Thank you! I have customized the default "coral color" program to make the lights more blue in the evening hours, but that's about it.
Shopped
Setup a tank, bro!
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.
Someone had to make this comment, well done!
🤣
OR3 last no more than 8 months :( LOVE the light, but.....
Now you tell me....I have had one go bad since recording this video
For real?
@@tidalgardens On my own 2400 liters I had 10 OR3, I take care of a system of 4000 liters and he had 12 in total. Of the 22 together 6 are still running. Special the long 150 cm blue has problems, had 3 that lasted less than 4 months. GREAT service on the other side, little slow but they have replaced 8 lamps so far.
Now we have AI Blades. They are not just a little slow...
