      Back about a dozen years or so I was working at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans as an educator and sometimes keeper. I remember when Bubba the male lion from the Brookfield Zoo arrived. Were you there then and do you remember him? I left a few years later and our female lions had still not quite accepted him poor guy. I still have a few recordings of him roaring in the mornings around the time that I normally would arrive. I also have several photos of him one of which he is raising his head and roaring beautifully which we used in our materials to attract volunteers. We really loved working with him much more so than the female lions we already had because whenever they looked in your direction, you felt like lunch. Bubba was not like that at all. The worst thing that I remember happening around him was getting marked/sprayed by accident as I stepped into the line of fire lol totally my fault. They let me borrow a uniform and go take a shower in the locker room in the middle of the day lol. I don't know who laughed harder me or the staff around me. He really got me pretty good completely by accident. I never lived it down and often got asked things like if I was feeling "pissy today?" or "what's that cologne you wear again Bubba something?" etc lol

    7:00 or so, Emily asked about a species that looked like a Timor Python, very closely related to Retics but a different species only somewhat bred in captivity. Beautiful, and hopefully captive bred for some more generations so they are a little less cantankerous lol.

      I think I need a list of where all the Mold-A-Rama machines are… 😂 Is this a Mid-West thing?
      My childhood collection is also crushed pennies with patterns based on the location, like the zoo or museum’s name and an image. Mostly East Coast locations, maybe DC as well. Every time I went to the same place multiple times, I tried to remember what I got the previous time to avoid repeats. 😂 51 cents, had to carry quarters and pennies.

  • @Riceball01

    I remember those Mold O Ramas from when I was a kid. I forgot all about them and thought they no longer existed until I saw one featured on the Justin Scarred channel. It's good to see that these machines exist elsewhere,e they bring back memories. I think if I iever visit a place that has one of these machines I'm going to have to get whatever they offer for old time's sake.
    Btw, I like your choice of music. That;s the xame track that Edwin Sarkissian uses on hi channel. I'ts always funny/interesting whenever Ihear the same piece of music being used on different channels.

    Growing up in the Peruvian Amazon we had a caiman lizard in our science room (along with Peruvian redtail boa, anaconda, caecilian, baby opossums, baby spectacled caimans, etc. The bird that flew by just before you showed the road runner is some species of curassow, a gallinaceous bird of the jungle. The little one of the floor with the half disc on its beak is probably some type of cotinga (the same family as the cock-of-the-rock. The grey bird with the red beak is an inca tern from the coast of Peru. Great looking bird!)

    I went a couple years and overall it’s a great zoo, I do think that the addax and Przewalski’s horses need better enclosures and when they brought back okapi skins they thought it was a type of zebra and named it equus johnstoni, before they discovered a live specimen and saw just how bizarre it really was

I was the only one of the 12 people on the trip that got stung. Something slimy touched my leg, I got out because my first thought was jellyfish, mom made be get back in because I was "imagining things and it was probably just a fish." Hey I have a question for you, is it hard to get set up to import? I'm trying to get set up to import Parsons chameleons and O'Shaughnessy chameleons but I don't know what I'm doing. Or who to contact in Madagascar that's legit. How in the world do you get set up doing it...

    • @azuradawn5683
      @azuradawn5683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@surfpanther Uhhh.. why are you trying to export animals from Madagascar? That seems like a horribly irresponsible plan, at best. The chances of you getting massively screwed over financially and/or killing a ton of animals are quite high. Also, why do you need to import? Why not captive breeding? This whole plan of yours has so many problems that I'm not going to write a novel in a comment, but please do WAY more research on every part of this entire situation before you even think about actually putting a wild animal in a box...

    • @surfpanther
      @surfpanther 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@azuradawn5683 lots of people import from Madagascar. I am captive breeding. I want more genetics, and I want other species that you can't find here. I've done the research. Name one thing on this planet that you do that doesn't have risk:-)

    • @surfpanther
      @surfpanther 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@azuradawn5683 I'm not worried about the financial end of it, I trade stocks and options and I'm really good :-) I have plenty of experience with wild caught animals. I'm not worried about the animals making the trip, I've seen dozens of videos of chameleons from Madagascar making it here just fine. Lots of people do it, it's not that big of a deal. So if you don't have anything to say to help me then kindly screw off

    First thing: Birds that meet you at a zoo seems to either fall in love with you, or be confused by you... maybe you should move into birds and investigate this...? ;)
    Second thing: I started watching CatAleah after seeing her in one of your videos (and you need to link to her channel on your channel page, by the way, I managed blank out on her name and after giving up going through my subscription list, I went to your main channel to find her, but she wasn't among the subs or "Channels I like", and that, young man, is just a crime which you need to fix... ;) Which brings me to the actual second thing... when you told her the first (hopefully not second) part of the jellyfish sting thing, you could just see the light in her eyes die... she clearly needs to be protected from things like that, she's too precious! Bad Dāv! Bad! ;)
