@@Japansepuppy2481 no, it doesn't change your ethnicity, but it definitely changes your nationality. why do you think so many black people, including myself, identify themselves as African American? because you could be born, raised, and lived in America your whole life but your ethnicity comes from your heritage. I'm more direct, as I was born in Africa and moved to America at 13 months, and both my parents are African. And I grew up speaking both English and my native language. Stephanie could identify herself as Korean American because her family is from Korea, but she grew up in Georgia. And if you move somewhere and become a citizen, you can identify there as well.

I have a respect for the Korean culture, and love to learn more about the culture, the food, and am learning the language (which was sparked by watching you on TH-cam!) However, I would never try to claim Korean culture as my own. I think that is where the feeling of disrespect comes from. Oli is treating Korean culture as if it’s simply kpop/kdramas and nothing else that goes along with being Korean, being raised in the culture, etc. A part of me hurts for them because I genuinely think there is a significant amount of self-loathing, but they need to understand how disrespected and angry people feel with how they are behaving (and that those feelings are justified).
learning a language and learning about different cultures food is a harmless and wholesome hobby! i encourage you to keep going with this as it can keep you sharp and many different cultures food are very healthy!! have fun with it!! exploiting it is what crosses a boundary!
I think Olli hates Korea and Koreans, and their trolling is 100% taking the piss, in a racist way. The more attention people give them the more they do to be racially insensitive. Everyone should stop making videos and tweets about them because its attention they crave. They should just be ignored.
literally, he’s just an extreme version of a troll because he capitalizes on shock/outrage (which is justified to feel in response to him tbh bc he’s a shitty person) but giving him attention only furthers his notoriety and directly benefits him
It’s cringey but let him live. He can do what he wants
@@flan6449 Yeah but the more people like that are given attention, the more people think it's acceptable to behave that way for clout.

they aren’t korean at all, none of their blood is even korean they probably don’t even have anyone from their family of a korean descent. it’s honestly sad that these days stephanie has to be aware of if she gets canceled or not
It's not only about blood, but they didn't grow up in korea, don't know the language and don't know the culture. They propably don't even have korean citizenship.
Actually one could be korean if they were born and raised in Korea without having a drop of korean blood. That makes them Korean too.
No it doesn’t lmao. Being a citizen doesn’t change your ethnic identity
@@Japansepuppy2481 I think they meant Korean as a nationality, not ethnically? Like Singapore for example, you have a whole mix of different ethnicities but they are still Singaporean as they have most likely adapted to life and culture of Singapore. I guess in this case, it’s Korean national vs ethnic, but for Olly, that’s just a Brit.
Oily London: I identify as a 25 years old Korean please respect that.

"im scared of being cancelled and im Korean" LMAO
Me too! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thank you TH-cam for this recommendation 2 years later
If anyone actually tried to cancel you for this it would be awful.
Where you think people get that cancel mindset from?
I think Olli hates Korea and Koreans, and their trolling is 100% taking the piss, in a racist way. But they get away with it by kinda trying to do a Rachel Dozal thing, but know they'll get away with it because people never take racism towards Asians as seriously as racism towards black people. So Olli will keep getting interviews, and views/money, for being hateful and racist.
pls don’t bring black people into this
I don’t think he hated Asians be probs genuinely loves them but he loves them so much he wants to be literally like them, which in any circumstances it will never happen. To put it simply, he Is just a koreaboo cringing obsessed white English Kpop fan who is obsessed to the point he has lost himself.
he ended up finding Jesus and is back to being a white male.
This was the nicest reaction I've ever seen to oli London videos😂😂 I'm sorry Oli London keeps disrespecting your culture.
