If you hook the chain in the catches toward the middle of the winch you could probably pull both logs and keep the front end on the ground. I have a similar set up and when pulling with the cable the center of gravity is higher and pulls the front wheels off the ground. You could also try having a small log on the forks to help provide traction.

Your having to get on an off your tractor too much. I try to bring out my logs as long as possible unless a bad tight area and no room at the set/landing. I like cutting them up at the set. I hate when those hang end to end. Your videos are great. Not many good tractor winching videos that aren't 20 minutes pulling one log.

Lol thanks pal glad you enjoyed yeah this is steep ground so my little tractor wouldn’t pull without lifting the front wheels so I had to buck them up but definitely if possible to leave long it’s a lot nicer

i know its been a bit since you filmed this but i just stumbled into your content. it would help you a lot to just pick up a pallet of wood or something else heavy laying around and just leave it on your forks while your yarding out those logs to keep your steers on the ground better. even if you have to set it down when you get out to stack the logs i bet it will still be faster than monkeying around with your steers in the air. another thing you can do is fill your front tires with window washer fluid or if you have access get some lead and a #00 buck shot mould and pour you some shot to put in there for weight. your tire guy will hate you but your paying him so who cares. those tires in front are easy to mount with a couple spoons so you could even do them yourself if you had the gumption. your vids are right up my alley. ill poke around here for a while. thanks for your time and efforts with them

Thanks for the comment and same interests pal since I'm logging with this unit now I have loaded the tires it helps but its light still I have tried logs on the forks but in the tight spots its a pain when having to use the loader I might try suitcase weights next in the front just hate to tie up the forks
