@@lunron9548 my guess they wanted to make it full 24 episode per season show from this point, like any other detective show, but that's was a big mistake as for fans Lucifer is about Lucifer first, and as a detective last
I believe that Maze doesn't know what Chloes was holding on to because Lucifer has no horns, it was just Chloes imagination of what the Devil looks like.
That blessed child, Chloe doesn't have a choice, does she? That's why Lucifer is upset, nobody will choose to fall for the devil and he thinks of himself as undeserving.
That's how Lucifer thought. But I think she had and still has a choice, otherwise she never married Dan and have Trixie. She would have to wait for Lucifer and never fell in love before him. But she did fall, with Dan
Yes, he is clearly not loving himself, so that's why he said that he doesn't deserve Chloe, and later wasn't clear about how her feelings for him are real. And now he stuck in denial, Chloe is a result of a blessing, so he thinks that their feelings are the result of his Dad's manipulation. But he doesn't stop caring about her especially after he saw that she is poisoned, he put his anger aside and started to worry about her
I think you’re viewing the relationship between Lucifer and his “dad” the wrong way. Yes, if your human dad set you up on a blind date with someone you got along with, that might be a nice thing to do. But, your human dad is not omnipotent and omniscient. You have free will, he is not in control of every aspect of your life and your reaction to them. For Lucifer, this is not the case. He is in many ways a slave, he has never done a single thing of his own volition, every single action he has ever taken was foreseen by his father from the dawn of time. He has never made a single decision for himself, he has never interacted with anyone who wasn’t functionally an NPC with reactions scripted by his father. God is ineffable, which means freedom for Lucifer is an illusion, all he wants is to be his own man but he can never escape his helicopter parents influence. Even “rebelling” and falling from heaven was not an independent decision. Lucifers fall was fundamentally necessary for gods plan for the world. Without it Eve never eats the fruit and humans never leave the garden, his failure was predestined, and so was every success. It makes sense to think of god less as a father, and more as an “author”, he writes Lucifer, his life, and everything he ever interacts with, including lucifers reactions to them. Lucifer does not have independent existence, he’s a character in a book who only wants to step off of the page and walk a road that was not laid out for him, but he can’t. Even when he feels like he can, that too is simply a part of what his writer wrote. The show kind of glosses over this, but it was one of the primary themes in the comic it’s based on. Lucifers relationship with the creator of the reality he inhabits is very existentially horrifying when it’s actually examined. Anyway, because of this Lucifer is basically paranoid (correctly) that everything he does is being manipulated, that other people barely even exist except as extensions of his fathers control over the universe. When he left hell he thought he’d finally escaped the Grand Plan and done something unexpected, that he was making decisions for himself, finally. So when he forged an unexpected connection with a human, he was willing to believe that this reality was real. But then he’s confronted by the clear evidence that it is not. That he may as well have never left hell to begin with, that all of this has simply been a side-diversion generated by god designed to trick him into believing he had achieved his goal while denying him any true escape in reality. So Chloe goes back to being simply an extension of his father, little more than a sock puppet his dad was using to jerk him off while he remains chained in the cosmic basement. What Lucifer actually wants is freedom. So while setting him up may seem like a nice thing on the surface, it’s actually one of the cruelest things his father could have done. It’s letting him out of the chains and telling him he’s free only to reveal that he’s living in an even larger cage. So, what does Lucifer do? Does he keep trying to escape the cage, or does he go back to the sock puppet and try to pretend it’s real, try to pretend that he can’t see the impression of his fathers fingers moving just below the surface? Do you seek the truth or do you live a happy lie? And more importantly, do you even have a choice at all? Lucifer thinks he’s making a decision, maybe he even believes that he is willingly choosing Chloe, but ultimately that outcome occurred because god arranged for it to occur before he even created Lucifer or the universe. It was predetermined. So is Lucifer a person, or is he just a sock puppet God is writing to have slightly more self awareness because he enjoys watching him squirm? The reason Lucifer wants to believe Chloe is real is because he wants to believe that he is real. And gods constant meddling denies him any form of personal identity or independence. He doesn’t want to be a sock puppet, but _how could he be anything but?_
Did you really ask why Lucifer has a problem with this revelation? It's not about his relationship with his dad, guys. It's because now, to him, it seems like he and Chloe never had any free will. God made her specifically for him, and put her in his path, which means she never had the opportunity to choose for herself, and Lucifer never had the option to say no. When you're manipulated into a relationship, that relationship isn't real, and that's why he's upset.
I get that, but I always think of the fact that her being blessed and placed does not destroy HER free will, Chloe also has feelings for Lucifer out of her own free will, just because destiny brought them together doesn't mean it was all a sham, Chloe has no idea what happened
Lucifer's greatest desire is free will to make his own choices. So now it appears that meeting Chloe was a setup to get Lucifer back on his puppet strings, or worse show he had never cut them, he's going to do anything but what he sees as the path he's being manipulated down.
I know there are certain creative liberties for suspense reason in shows like this, but bruh… in every one of these shows, they just deliver antidotes. Like there’s no instructions where to insert or what dose 😂😂
Damn that first scene 🤣 But Maze was so hilarious, and also Chloe's flirting at the beginning 🤣🤣🤣 This and the next episode are the best in the season, also the ending episode too 👍👏
Lucifer was upset about finding about Chloe because hes HUGE on free will, and he believes in this case that Chloe never had a choice as she was "made" for him
Do you remember the foreshadowing from 1x01 where Lucifer asked _"Did my Father send you?"_ Buckle up. It will take _"awhile"_ to understand Chloe and her birth...
I think Lucifer values freedom and choice above anything else (ie. fulfilling desires) and since Chloe *wasn't supposed to exist* he feels like her choices *weren't* her own. Hence his dilemma about things being "real" (or, not influenced by God), and his crushing frustration/realization that Chloe was directly influenced by God (and thus, not "real"). It's all about autonomy! :D
So Pat shouldn't you be sitting on a red couch with a blue wall behind you? Tim DeKay is the second actor they pulled from White Collar, the character Onyx (Ross McCall S1E12 #TeamLucifer ) was Matthew Keller, Neal Caffreys' aggressive criminal opponent. Too bad White Collar did not have the opportunity to finish the season as Lucifer will have.
they seemed to forget the whole free will thing, lucifer is kinda big on that and the fact his father might have placed this person in his path means he never really had any everything that’s happened to him was not his choice even the rebellion! also he was trying to prove a point that ppl will pick themselves over helping someone else also they really do nitpick on camera angles and police procedure like why overanalyze things like that and complain
I agree with that. Why does It matter If god made cloe? Its the old Isaak asimov all over again. Once you make your own choices and it fits you, it doesnt really matter. Lets say the world could be an ilusion and we all live in the matrix. Does It matter? We still are living our lives the any way we can.
Honest question here. Is it just me that know that Chloe has never been blessed by anyone? Her Mother and Father were blessed, by Amenadiel. She was just the result of the Blessing. Someone has to know that. Maybe GOD knew that if the Parents were blessed, the child would somehow not be affected by LUCIFER. People say "Add 2 and 2 together." I want someone to actually do it. Add 2 and 2 together and get the CORRECT answer.
I like your reaction videos a lot everyone has a different perspective and that makes it more fun to watch. Would like to add a point about what God controls/plans is and what not, giving the free will to decide your own path, make your own destiny and choose whomever or whatever you want to be is what in a true sence is the GOD's plan. No one is made for each other or no one gets what they want easily they have to struggle and face multiple obstacles to get it and that's what the Gods whole idea to create humans a free will creature who make there own destiny. (Talking in shows as well as Real life perspective). So yes you may say or argue that destiny is already been decided bla bla bla but then also the process to achieve is in your hands.
How the universe works in misterious ways just for our species? Like the universe aren't doing shit for the other species in our world? Are we specials? Why? It's weird to me this kind of thinking...
I in no way condone cutting ones self or others, but the way he cut his wrists is safer. It is bad and can kill dont get me wrong. Horizontal cut is safer compared to vertical.
