Honestly I gotta give the PS5 credit for not going down the route Nintendo did and keeping their menu music, it's so soothing. Really disappointing the the Switch is just silent and lifeless cause IMO the Wii U had the best menu music of any console to date.

for modern consoles the menu music would have to be off by default to appeal to a modern/mature audience BUT there should be an option to turn it on to appease me
I think the menu's can be a pretty overlooked reason as to what makes a lot of these consoles so rememberable The music can go a long way in making the console feel the way the does (PS2/PS3 boot-ups sounding more futuristic as well as Wii and Wii U feeling very welcoming and calm) and while I do get why a lot of companies feel the need to be more modern and simple I do hope consoles get some more music to come along with them, even as an option I really do think developing the menu's to have a certain vibe to them can really help making your system stand out
Found this video on the homepage in early noon, clicked on your channel, started from the first video and I have now caught up on all videos and happily hit subscribe because when you are hilarious, and champion the Wii U, then I gotta jump on this train. As a "bonus" for me, it also feels good, as somebody who's going to get started with videos myself, to see a small and growing channel, and see that you don't need the best camera or professional setup and background - a good camera, good mic and good spirits go along way!
The music from that Nintendo instruction video was actually scrapped music that was going to be used for the Switch's eShop! It's really disappointing that it was cut, it's sooo good

I think I got this suggested because I've been listening to Wii shop music (and KK slider songs) for vids lol You're right though PS4 one is so good probs my fav and you can actually get the PS2 theme which gives you the old waves crashing sounds too. Tbf to Sony I think the PS5 music is pretty good I didn't even remember the Wii U ones at all despite playing it so much - that Mii Maker is a banger though gunna use it in future 😅

as a very easily scared little kid i hated the gamecube console menu for the longest time because something about the droning music with the void in the background just freaked me out. now that im older and slightly less easy to scare i actually like the gamecube console menu a lot but something about that as a kid just made me think i was doing something wrong with my gamecube LOL

The Switch is definitely the worst when it comes to this. As directly compared to its many predecessors that had incredible menu music, the Switch is a barren field. In fact, despite the Switch selling so well, the Switch is probably the most boring console Nintendo has released in a long time. No extra features, no music, no fluff --- just boring.
