Just check the films like unnal mudiyum thambi, vaname yellai, kalki , manadhil urudhi vendum , punnagai , all these films or most of his films suits to this generation too .

I can see certain director focus only on caste related movies and other subjects which is of no use and portraying a bad person as a Hero in movies, This will create a bad impression .

Annamalai is the benchmark for all Mass commercial movies. I could recollect how frenzy those days were :) Superstar is not built in a day, that you (all current gen actors) "dream" to achieve overnight. It is not a mere title... Its a mantra and a power.

Also risk ur life for the one who gave u ur life. At this time Ilayaraja was the King of Music Industry and Vaali was his primary lyricist but Rajini took the risk of going with Deva and Vairamuthu (who was without much opportunity in the film industry) bcos of his guru KB's fight with IR, that too after a humongous musical success like Thalapathy and Mannan. This was the first nail in the coffin for Ilayaraja era. This movie becomes a super duper hit and forms the alliance of Rajini-Deva-Vairamuthu
and proves again that kollywood can give mega hits even without Ilayaraja-Vaali.
After a few months comes another movie of KB-Maniratnam-SmallBoy named ARR (Roja) comes and the rest is history. It was the end of IR's tyranny in kollywood but u have to admit IR was an absolute genius who lost his place bcos of his arrogance by having ego clashes with big directors like KB and many others

Not many know this,..infact Annamalai movie initially kicked off with Vasanth as it's director,..but due to some differences he had to quit and suresh krishna had to be SOS-ed from Mumbai to take up the project and don the directors hat. Rest is history.. Annamalai became a smash hit.
