She was born on August 25, 1967, in Camagüey, at the age of 15 he made his debut at the X Pan American Games (Caracas), Venezuela, in 1983 where he collaborates with the power to the triumph of the Cuba team in this event.
He had to go through difficult tests, because he did not have the ideal biotype for volleyball due to his short stature, so the coaches at first did not trust him, however, at only 1.75 meters tall, he was able to jump 3.35 in attack and 3.16 in blocking.
In 1986, she became Idanaysi's mother and less than three weeks after delivery she played in the World Championship in Prague, where the team came in second, proving that she could continue to help the Caribbean Brunettes win.
Sports career
After the victory in the Pan American Games in 1983, the Cuban head coach, Eugenio George, gave him the opportunity to play regular and he could never do without it. She was the captain of the national team for a long time, wearing the number 3 on her shirt.
He treasures a guarantee of three gold medals in the same number of Olympic Games, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta, 1996 and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He also joined the world champion teams in Brazil 1994 and in Nagoya, Japan 1998.
Multiple medals in World Cups, Grand Prix, Pan American Games, and Central American and Caribbean Games, earned him public recognition in various latitudes, especially in China and Japan, where the fans attended training sessions to see the Cuban athlete.
