When the stupid kid asks the question, "Tell the audience why you're not selling out." Just what is that question supposed to mean anyway? Is Henry Rollins supposed to feel guilty about earning a living, earning money, to support himself in the entertainment industry? Henry's comeback stating, "Well, we have nothing to defend," was a good one. That dumb kid was so stupid to think he was talking to someone who was beneath him. Henry Rollins isn't beneath anyone or anything. His Howard Stern interview proved that. He is a very smart quick thinking man. He seems a good person even I never met him. I do like very much his quotation when he said, "I don't want you on my side, I want you on your side. Be an Army of one, a lord of your own church." Very good Mr. Rollins.
Henry has stated that he was the one in this scenario that was in the wrong lol, not the kid. The kid isn't stupid, he's matching his energy and handling himself well. He was enthusiastic about the music and probably didn't know what he was getting into, as Henry said himself, there was displaced anger from all of the stuff he was experiencing with his mental health and the negatives of being on tour and having violent confrontations every night. I recommend his book "Get in the Van", it sheds light onto the rough way of life and sacrifice it was to be in Black Flag at the time. At that time, he was still living in relative squalor with not much money.
The funniest part by far is Bill yelling out in the background “why, cuz you fuck slow?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And later: “you’re better off buying the new Saga release!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀
No one was actually mean to the kid until he accused them of writing music they don't want to write just to make money. And they were all like 22. It's not their jobs to be child psychologists.
@@4ourty5ive And then he reflected on that video later and his assistant Heidi said "that wasn't the Henry I know"-- HE WAS 22!! People don't realize just how insane that time was. There was probably a wall of cops right outside this show just waiting to beat people.

@@zippymufo9765you’re correct that punk was aggressive and antisocial, but that was directed at authority and the establishment. punching down and victimising other people wasn’t punk. Rollins has since commented on this incident and clearly regrets the way he acted.
You know what really pisses me off, how mean rollins was to this poor kid. Shame on him. He was just trying to do his fucking job and Henry tried to destroy him, but failed :-)
He tried to seek and destroy, but failed miserably
honesty is considered mean????
wearing a black flag shirt to my law enforcement class tomorrow wish me luck
Pig
I know just the shirt..
I feel like I just witnessed two Greek gods fighting each other.
Rollins was such a dick here.
Rollins trying so hard to be rad. And failing miseribly. Props to the kid.
"Trying so hard to be rad"? 😂 Henry's annoyed by this kid's stupid questions and he's showing him how dumb he was behaving. Props to the kid for holding his own, but I don't see how Henry failed at anything guy. Get your facts straight.
@@KingDevilCharger He's bullying a kid to look cool on front of his pals. Rollins is, and always has been, incredibly lame. Great music though.
@@squareinsquare2078 He's apologized for it repeatedly. He was sick of having to fight dumb punks all the time and fully admits to unfairly taking it out on this dumb kid. I'm sure you also did stupid things when you were young that you now regret.
@@squareinsquare2078 I don’t think Henry has to bully a kid to look cool for anyone my guy. He’s a cool guy all on his own. This kid was incredibly annoying and I don’t blame Henry for reacting the way he did.
@@KingDevilCharger "My guy" 🤣. Lameness runs in his fanbase too .....
Nothing like getting beat up by Black Flag's fourth best singer.
You sound like you weren't even there for the others
lol
Henry has always been cringe
8:16 Classic passive-aggressive master suppression technique. The kid could've said anything, and he still would have corrected him just to show he's in charge.
Henry could be very scary..in fact. I used to tour w. Birthday party..but. black flag is the only gig i missed..out of FEAR..I LL REGRET IT FOR EVER..AND WENT TO SEE HIM PLAY FIRST ROLLINS GIG IN LONDEN..IN 84..WAS BRUTAL TOO. BUT YEA..GODDAMN..I LL NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF
Loser
What a try hard.
Yeah he's a dork, always has been.
Scene, what's a scene¿?¿??¿?
Dude trolled HR hard lol. Good job.
Uh, I think the opposite actually happened.
I love how everybody out there is giving Henry grief about this like he’s still the same person that he was then. If anything this is a testament to the growth he’s had since then. This was punk rock. This was the way it used to be. He’s Judd Nelson in the breakfast club. People like that, should they survive long enough, usually become wise people. It would be far more disappointing if he just bent to the status quo.
he is the same douche bag, just more sober. the person in this video was high
Status quo?.....being civil to a student journalist or, ya know, just declining the interview?
@@doubtshadow1 Sedate all that you hate , it'll get you nowhere
He's still an obnoxious dickhead what do you mean lol he's been a pretentious shit head most of his life lol
This kid came on back stage to make a fuckin interview with the band and he came with ass hole attitude, playing a big journalist try to mocking around with Henry Rollins.First the kid is a fuckin brat,a little cunt who think i am smarter then you i go to the colegge i gonna be a R.Stone magazine journalist. He hase a really good luck, beacouse he make him selfe a one intch of be beat of the band members and they crew, they allmost clean the floor with his stupid head,ok.If he came with the same stupid ass hole attitude in back stage of some other band and crew, maybe in NYC in Lower east side to fucking around with the A Front crew,Cro-Mags,M.Law's,Danny Diablo....etc.He probably gonna finish in some emergency Center with broken bones and maybe stabbed even.....solo brat this is NOT a Punk rock thing from the 80ies ok,this is dissrespect a band and all People who leave you to be theirs quest and maybe to drink a few beers and having a good times but if you dont respect all this then FUCK YOU men
It goes both ways
I dunno how the f I came to this video but this is weird on so many levels
That kid look like the biggest poser
Which one of Rollins’ secret boyfriends are you?
@@ramparts1445hes the one that likes to receive and not give and by that i mean up the poop chute
That kid is in his mid 50s now
This is hard to watch lol Henry was intimidating this kid big time, the kid reminds me of Anthony michael hall
I will always love black flag and Rollins and I've seen both those bands
The funniest part by far is Bill yelling out in the background “why, cuz you fuck slow?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And later: “you’re better off buying the new Saga release!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀
He's being a prick the whole time to a kid
No one was actually mean to the kid until he accused them of writing music they don't want to write just to make money. And they were all like 22. It's not their jobs to be child psychologists.
@@raddkahnengels well said, well said
@@4ourty5ive And then he reflected on that video later and his assistant Heidi said "that wasn't the Henry I know"-- HE WAS 22!! He was self-critical of this behavior, of course, but keep in mind this is a very tortured but well-meaning kid from DC who by his own admission spent his entire childhood in his room or at work waiting for the Ramones to happen, and this was 4 years after he got thrown into the shark tank. People don't realize just how insane that time was. There was probably a wall of cops right outside this show just waiting to beat people.
@raddkahnengels Well, I mean, if you watch the whole interview, you will see that the kid was trying to basically hold his own while being cornered by the bullies that were black flag.
He didn’t know one other SST band? Descendents?
Wearing the bully shorts....
I think Henry should address this interview and explain, and apologise! Henry is a real thinker, so surely he can look back and see this. I am hoping Henry was just drunk and on drugs!
Kid was a poser and trying too hard. Regardless of who was right, and both were probably in the wrong, that much is for sure.
how i expected cocaine to make me feel
I really like Ron Reyes
Why is Rollins on such a high horse now, I wish he addressed this now. That break in was karma for sure, for bullying, a kid the size of Kira. Also that kid rose to the challenge when he said r u selling out, thats ballsy, and they had weak comebacks.
He did on his podcast. He says he feels really bad about it and that he was going through a lot emotionally at the time.
He admitted what he did to this kid was wrong. He also explained that he was going through alot of shit at this time and misplaced his anger out on this poor kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
People can see this video and actually think Henry was in the right or the kid did anything that deserved the diva treatment Rollins was dishing out
Wonder how that kid turned out lool
People can call it and say what they want, especially if their not traveling around in a van and being in potentially dangerous situations at times back in those days. Being fucked with constantly. It will take its toll. At least the guy didnt get the shit kicked out him or was in a dangerous situation unlike the band probably had constantly
i wont allow the meat puppets slander
when was this taped?
Lol, kid is much cooler than Rollins
LoL To limpwristed generations
