Thank you thank you!! I’ve only just discovered you a little over a month ago, but you’ve helped me more than dozens of health/ED recovery coaches, therapists and dietitians ever have! ! I know your info isn’t geared towards eating disorders, but I am 40 also, and have had ED issues since about 10, and this is the very first time I am not fully consumed with thoughts about weight, restriction etc… the most free and at peace I’ve felt since being a child. And I’ve only been implementing what I’m learning from you for a few weeks or so. Please don’t stop doing what you’re doing!! Sorry this is so long but I was praying for guidance that wasn’t a strict meal plan or going all in till I was in pain and couldn’t move!! This is the balance I was looking for… dr appt yesterday was the best I’ve had -healthy bmi, labs are perfect, going out and being social, active but not compulsive workout routines….no food is “bad or good”, neither needs restricted or binged on! Ahhh life is good on the other side of dieting 💖
I understand where you're coming from and what you mean by 'thin'. Also, letting go of diet mentality is - in my humble opinion - one of the best choices you can make for your health and happiness. And I truly appreciate your contribution to helping people do that! That being said, focussing on weight/body size is still in direct opposition to what Initive Eating is actually about! Rather, it is an integral part of the concept to let go of fat-phobic prejudice. My grandmother ate what she wanted and was overweight and super healthy her entire life. She gave birth to 11 healthy, chubby, children and died after a very short period of physical decline at age 94. It really is OK, NOT to be thin! Check out the excellent book 'Intuitive Eating, 4th edition' from the actual developers of the concept, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, if you are interested in the mindset behind Intuitive Eating. Or, by all means, continue focussing on weight loss, if it brings you joy :o) I wish you all the best.
Intuitive eating is about eating what your “body” wants within you body Boundries “hunger, balance, taste” Most people ignore all of that and only focus on the food choices rather that their bodies, with that being said most people also miss what’s real hunger and what’s being feeling balance is

So far, all I have done is stop dieting. I can't diet anymore.
