Forgot the dog tank buster. Trained dogs to run up to tanks carrying backpack full of explosives on timer...Problem was dog would get halfway to the tank, say forget it, then run back to the handler with the lit charge.
Dont mean to be rude here and forgive me if im wrong but the reason the dogs ran back because they were trained on the smell of friendly fuel and not enemy fuel so they ran back thinking "hey enemy" but it was really a friendly tank

The Goliath was pretty effective. My Grandpa was a Goliath driver for 3 years. The effectiveness against tanks was not so great because if you missed the tank would know where you are because of the rope. But against standing targets, it was really neat. He once told me that he used the goliath to blow up a tram car where enemys were hiding in.
Hey Neebs, another animal guided weapon back in WWII was a bomb attached to a dog! This was done by the then Soviet Union to destroy the German Pazer tanks. Compared to the Pigeon-Guided Missle, this was (in my opinion ) worse.

The Bat bomb was 100% reliable. they tested it 7 times with devastating effects. They actually did far better than even conceived in the Trial test, where they simply opened a box with 10 Bats who flew out to hide and sleep in the rafters of the Airforce Hanger. Test 2 was more like multiple rests to design the release mechanism. They eventualy came up with the Honey comb idea. They placed it on a rig. Dropped the shelves so they would hang but not hit the ground (due to the Cables, and the rig being high enough) Same result as Test 1. Test 3 they tried it outside with a group of small wooden prefab buildings. Some bats actually went into the nearby Hanger and set it online (no one was injured but the Hanger roof burned down). Test 4 They tried withought the bomb packages triggers activated and with only prefabs in the area. All bats went to hang in the rafters. Test 4 and 5 were live tests with the Bomb Test 4 involved no activated packages. Test 5 had activated bombs. All the buildings with bats burned. (yes a lot of bats died... more than 80% in each test actually managed to get away..... and no one knows exactly how, to this day). The bomb was never used... because they built, you know, the Tall boy and the Fat boy ;)

They forwarded the proposal to one Donald Griffin, who had conducted groundbreaking work on bats' echolocation strategies, as related by Patrick Drumm and Christopher Ovre in this month's American Psychological Association Journal. Griffin, who later became a renowned psychologist who argued that non-human animals also possess consciousness, was quite enthusiastic about the idea. "This proposal seems bizarre and visionary at first glance," he wrote in April 1942, "but extensive experience with experimental biology convinces the writer that if executed competently it would have every chance of success." The President's men followed Griffin's lead. "This man is not a nut. It sounds like a perfectly wild idea but is worth looking into," a Presidential memorandum concluded. And so, just like that, a dentist's crazy idea about bats had become a U.S. government research project. After the team settled on using the Mexican free-tailed bat, Adams took a few to Washington for a demonstration of them carrying a dummy bomb. Funny story, while in development in New Mexico the scientist working on the project at a military base didn't account for how hot it was in New Mexico. The bats (who were armed) woke up prematurely and flew into buildings all over the base causing massive fires.

Just so you know... About those japanese balloons. With bombs they were worthless, but japanese were developing bioweapons in the Far East of Asia. Sadly they tested it on my people - citizens of USSR. And the results they got... well, incredible and terrifying at the same time. Guess who were they going to attack with supereffective bioweapons, since the only country they were fighting in WW2 was USA...Don't remember correctly right now, why the facility was shut down, but if I am not mistaken, soviet soldiers were able to find the location of these labs, break through japanese defences and capture scientists and their work. So, basically, soviet soldiers saved USA from iminent devastation, because these ballons with bioweapon carrying insects, birds and other animals, as well as just bacterias, viruses and God knows what else, would've been launched in enourmous amount to cover all the territory of USA. It would be almost uncureable, because of that times medicine and general unreadiness for such kind of attack, and it would be very hard to find where the container landed, because ir wouldn't apply explosives to spread agents of contamination - just *poof* - it's open and the filth is spreading. Sure, it's not a quick killer but the consequences are just... horrible. Who could know, that it would be the japanese, who were creating the most deadly weapon of all. Nuclear weapons are less effective in killing populace and much more humane.

In 1925 the Polish army used pigeons and ravens to spot enemies. They would fly up and find enemy tanks and fly in circles around them. This helped them range artillery and track enemy movement. They were still using this at the onset of WW2 however Poland was overrun and this practice died out by the end of the war.
What's amazing is the bat bomb thing actually worked, very very well. Thankfully, depending on how you look at it, the Manhattan project was going ahead very well and the bat bomb wasn't deemed necessary.
I'm dissapointed that they didn't mention that it wasn't just a small incendiary that was on the bomb, it was freaking napalm, they put napalm on the bats.

There was a battlefield game already like that, Secret Weapons Expansion for 1942. Sadly, it didn't have any of these weird weapons. But it did have cool ones.

They were talking about shipping in explosive filled fake coal, but that was actually a weapon used by most combatants in WWII, most notably the British SOE and American OSS. It was known as the coal torpedo, and was first invented by the Confederates during the Civil War. (Back then explosive mines and other such devices were called torpedoes.)
I heard about both the pigeon bomb and the balloons. The US loved using living creatures for weapons. They also tested a mosquito drop or bomb on US soil. They dropped them in a town to see how well they would spread so they could give them diseases and they'd spread the disease all over. I don't think they ever used it with disease or outside of testing though.
The bat bomb actually was tested with live napalm...but, Appsro picked up on the core problem when he said "chaos". They had no control over where the bats flew which was right back to the base and it burned to the fucking ground when the bats exploded

If I'm not mistaken as early as the American civil war deceptive coal bombs (made to look like coal but actually was explosive) were often mixed into regular coal shipments and used to destroy enemy trains and disrupt supply lines

Let's not forget the Battlefield 1942 mod 'Forgotten Hope'. It already has the Goliath. And, if you were to speak with the developers, they may just incorporate some of these into Battlefield 2's mod 'Forgotten Hope 2'.
2:39 the idea behind this weapon is similar to the exploding rat weapon whereas they release a large number of animals that are expected to take refuge in the homes of Japanese civilians. In the rafters in the case of the bats in the walls in the case of the rats. They would be packed with heater exploding material or incendiary material. Again they were too many variables to account for for this weapon to be particularly effective but I think examples like this are more to show how desperate the war was and how close we were to feet that we were considering Ludacris ideas such as these
Hey Neebs, I want to say that I think you guys are doing fantastic work here. Interesting topic. But what I most like about you guys in that "chaotic cooperation" of you guys. I don't know if that makes sense but basically everybody talks whenever they want n say whatever they want but somehow it still blends in nicely together and everybody listens to each other. Gives each other the space to say something. Which is very pleasant to the ear. You can follow the whole conversation. On top of that you guys are together a very optimistic team, and praise each other for doing things well. I love that about you guys and you all should really really keep that part in your videos (including the cartoons because those videos have the exact same uniqueness to it). On little tip for you guys would be (in my opinion) to sometimes have a little more exciting gameplay. Keep up the good work!

I like the conversation about the unethical treatment of animals. Especially when we were fighting an enemy that was throwing people in ovens like they were cord wood.
We actually did something like how Neebs thought of. In Vietnam, we sent shipments of 7.62x39mm ammunition to the VietCong, why supply our enemy? They didn’t know, and one round in every few thousand was filled with explosive, causing the weapon to have a catastrophic malfunction and explode in the hands of the shooter. We didn’t do it to every round because then they’d figure it out and throw all the rounds out, it wasn’t some super-tactic to kill everyone, just to cause some chaos and screw with their heads, losing trust in their weapons and suppliers. It was a highly effective as a psychological tactic and they never figured it out, matter of fact many of these sabotaged rounds are still in circulation. Some I believe have made their way to the Middle East, and are causing plenty of problems among insurgents watching their weapons detonate mid-firefight

The President's men followed Griffin's lead. "This man is not a nut. It sounds like a perfectly wild idea but is worth looking into," a Presidential memorandum concluded. And so, just like that, a dentist's crazy idea about bats had become a U.S. government research project.
After the team settled on using the Mexican free-tailed bat, Adams took a few to Washington for a demonstration of them carrying a dummy bomb. His superiors were sufficiently impressed that the U.S. Air Force gave authority for investigations to begin in earnest. It was March of 1943. The subject of the letter was, "Test of Method to Scatter Incendiaries." The purpose of the test was listed as, "Determine the feasibility of using bats to carry small incendiary bombs into enemy targets." The scheme became known as Project X-Ray.
After being transferred to the Army, thousands of bats were captured with nets at caverns around the southwest. Tiny bombs were designed for them. Appreciate, for a moment, the incendiary bomb that they came up with:

But this was a complex system that was being engineered. The researchers needed to figure out how to transport and deploy the little guys. So they did. First, the bats had to be kept in a hibernating mode while they were shipped. To accomplish this, they were stuck in ice cube trays and cooled. Second, they had to figure out how to release them in midair. A cardboard container was supposed to automatically open and release the bats. This was a real effort that cost science and engineering effort. Unfortunately, real tests did not go as planned. There were all kinds of things that needed to be fine-tuned. For example, at one point, a few of the loaded incendiary bats were accidentally released, whereupon a hangar and general's car were burned (as you can see in the photo below).
Eventually the Marine Corps took over the program and conducted tests beginning in December 1943. After 30 demonstrations and $2 million spent, the project was canceled. Most people believe it's because the U.S. realized that all resources should be concentrated on the development of a far more powerful weapon: the atomic bomb.
Adams, for his part, went on to a variety of crazy schemes. Right after, he advocated bombing the prairies with seed packets, and patented that scheme. And finally, after moving to Washington state, he tried to garner interest in a fried chicken vending machine. Truly Adams was a man with some ideas of his own making.

The bats actually carried little napalm charges. Funny story, while in development in New Mexico the scientist working on the project at a military base didn't account for how hot it was in New Mexico. The bats (who were armed) woke up prematurely and flew into buildings all over the base causing massive fires.

funny story , the bat bomb was actually cleared to be used after some of the bats got loose and lit a small town on fire , proving the concept was a successful one, they almost started mass producing the bomb capsules til a little something called the atomic bomb was finished. they scrapped the idea for the 2 bombs and inadvertently saved the lives of a million bats

Just so you know... About those japanese balloons.
With bombs they were worthless, but japanese were developing bioweapons in the Far East of Asia. Sadly they tested it on my people - citizens of USSR.
And the results they got... well, incredible and terrifying at the same time. Guess who were they going to attack with supereffective bioweapons, since the only country they were fighting in WW2 was USA...Don't remember correctly right now, why the facility was shut down, but if I am not mistaken, soviet soldiers were able to find the location of these labs, break through japanese defences and capture scientists and their work.
So, basically, soviet soldiers saved USA from iminent devastation, because these ballons with bioweapon carrying insects, birds and other animals, as well as just bacterias, viruses and God knows what else, would've been launched in enourmous amount to cover all the territory of USA.
It would be almost uncureable, because of that times medicine and general unreadiness for such kind of attack, and it would be very hard to find where the container landed, because ir wouldn't apply explosives to spread agents of contamination - just *poof* - it's open and the filth is spreading. Sure, it's not a quick killer but the consequences are just... horrible.
Who could know, that it would be the japanese, who were creating the most deadly weapon of all. Nuclear weapons are less effective in killing populace and much more humane.

In 1925 the Polish army used pigeons and ravens to spot enemies. They would fly up and find enemy tanks and fly in circles around them. This helped them range artillery and track enemy movement. They were still using this at the onset of WW2 however Poland was overrun and this practice died out by the end of the war.
What's amazing is the bat bomb thing actually worked, very very well. Thankfully, depending on how you look at it, the Manhattan project was going ahead very well and the bat bomb wasn't deemed necessary.

I honestly think that wheel is a pretty good idea for back in that time since it does not require any soldiers to go blow a hole in the enemies defenses. I could see it being useful if it was developed better
They were talking about shipping in explosive filled fake coal, but that was actually a weapon used by most combatants in WWII, most notably the British SOE and American OSS. It was known as the coal torpedo, and was first invented by the Confederates during the Civil War. (Back then explosive mines and other such devices were called torpedoes.)
There was also a cat guided bomb, it was similar to the pigeon project, but the cats passed out at high altitudes.
I heard about both the pigeon bomb and the balloons. The US loved using living creatures for weapons. They also tested a mosquito drop or bomb on US soil. They dropped them in a town to see how well they would spread so they could give them diseases and they'd spread the disease all over. I don't think they ever used it with disease or outside of testing though.

The bat bomb actually was tested with live napalm...but, Appsro picked up on the core problem when he said "chaos". They had no control over where the bats flew which was right back to the base and it burned to the fucking ground when the bats exploded

If I'm not mistaken as early as the American civil war deceptive coal bombs (made to look like coal but actually was explosive) were often mixed into regular coal shipments and used to destroy enemy trains and disrupt supply lines
You can play with the Goliath in the Men of War series games (RTS). It's not cost effective, but still super awesome.

Let's not forget the Battlefield 1942 mod 'Forgotten Hope'. It already has the Goliath. And, if you were to speak with the developers, they may just incorporate some of these into Battlefield 2's mod 'Forgotten Hope 2'.
the Japanese once tried to build a death ray "ku-go" during the war. They also tried building a literal flying tank.
2:39 the idea behind this weapon is similar to the exploding rat weapon whereas they release a large number of animals that are expected to take refuge in the homes of Japanese civilians. In the rafters in the case of the bats in the walls in the case of the rats. They would be packed with heater exploding material or incendiary material. Again they were too many variables to account for for this weapon to be particularly effective but I think examples like this are more to show how desperate the war was and how close we were to feet that we were considering Ludacris ideas such as these

I want to say that I think you guys are doing fantastic work here. Interesting topic. But what I most like about you guys in that "chaotic cooperation" of you guys. I don't know if that makes sense but basically everybody talks whenever they want n say whatever they want but somehow it still blends in nicely together and everybody listens to each other. Gives each other the space to say something. Which is very pleasant to the ear. You can follow the whole conversation. On top of that you guys are together a very optimistic team, and praise each other for doing things well. I love that about you guys and you all should really really keep that part in your videos (including the cartoons because those videos have the exact same uniqueness to it). On little tip for you guys would be (in my opinion) to sometimes have a little more exciting gameplay. Keep up the good work!
The OSS actually used the fake coal. It also had a kit for repainting it to make it look like the areas coal so it would blend in better.

I like the conversation about the unethical treatment of animals. Especially when we were fighting an enemy that was throwing people in ovens like they were cord wood.
We actually did something like how Neebs thought of.
In Vietnam, we sent shipments of 7.62x39mm ammunition to the VietCong, why supply our enemy? They didn’t know, and one round in every few thousand was filled with explosive, causing the weapon to have a catastrophic malfunction and explode in the hands of the shooter.
We didn’t do it to every round because then they’d figure it out and throw all the rounds out, it wasn’t some super-tactic to kill everyone, just to cause some chaos and screw with their heads, losing trust in their weapons and suppliers.
It was a highly effective as a psychological tactic and they never figured it out, matter of fact many of these sabotaged rounds are still in circulation. Some I believe have made their way to the Middle East, and are causing plenty of problems among insurgents watching their weapons detonate mid-firefight
