+Home Leung no contest the best stabilization for an android device is the Z5P followed by the Note 5, I haven't tested the 6S Plus yet, so I cant really answer that question, 6P is almost the same as the G4 which is pretty much the same as the V10.

Great review!Lg g4 have better picture quality especially low lights photos.But the z5 have the best stabilization,maybe the best stabilization in the smartphone market.

+kostas8186 Take a very careful look at the people in 1:28 and look how overexposed the G4 is. That's an example of bad low light performance too. The Z5 and LG G4 both suck at low light, Z5 for close shots, G4 for distant shots.

g4's audio recording quality is amr format or it records streo sound?
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has more details, in the pictures, but, its also more noise than LG G4.
So I think its probably mostly software that makes the diference, where LG did put in more noise reduction software than sony did.

An interesting point, here: on the people still shots, the Z5 adds a softening algorithm in Superior Auto. You can see, in the architecture shots, that it picks up more detail than the LG but the softening "beatifying" mask turns the tide on the shots of your daughter. Colours are uniformly better on the Z5, as is contrast. Details are swings and roundabouts. Stabilisation on video is hands-down best on the Z5.

+ritik gupta in my opinion the best camera, iv tested is the 1. Note 5, 2. 6P/Z5P (tie) 3. G4, I don't like the video filter that they are using, it looks dark and brownish color to it. I was going to use my G4 on my trip to Philippines next year but after watching this video, I wasn't pleased with the picture and the video quality. So now I changed my mind bringing the G4 with me and I'm going to bring my Note 5 instead. reason why I choice not to bring the Note 5 first was because it doesn't have a removable battery or expandable SD slot. Wow, it's surprising that Z5 is able to maintain such a wide field of view after digital stabilization (cropping). The original uncropped field of view of Z5 must be very wide. Very impressive. Thanks for the comparison.

Excellent and very useful review! Hope you can do more comparison with other phones. Z5 has better stabilization and detail resolution but G4 seems to have better optics. What's wrong with mic level on Z5 anyway? Some clip seems to have a very poor audio quality, maybe the placement of the mic?

+L BS pinoy ka pla! hehehe nice review .. btw napansin ko lang sa cropped images mo is ndi cla same ng FOV then sa crop eh same spot at same din ng FOV .. paran unfair lang kasi mas mag zoom ka sa image ng z5p mawawala talaga ang sharpness IMO .. great vids padin naman! some images are in favor in G4 but for most images goes to Z5p .. color/vibrancy/accuracy mas appealing .. sa video naman HANDS DOWN sa z5p pag dating sa stabilization at day light capturing at color reproduction, sa low light at max zoom goes to G4 .. front cam vid in favor to G4. in still images quite similar but the most appealing color rep for me is on Z5p .. in terms of mic they both have good mic, G4 has a loud and rich but quite noisy mic, in z5p mic is clean and quiet yet can capture your voice clearly .. so that's it! keep it up .. gonna like this one and click the subscribe .. :-)

In broad day light, The xperia Z5 have so much detail in still photos and a better video stabilisation but the G4 really shines in low light performance. Im torn between these 2 phones, I don't know which one should I get. Previously using G3 and Z3. Somebody help me!!!! 😭

i had high expectations for sony. I'm disappointed that it still does not provide support for raw and does not have manual mode like on the G4. I'm gonna look forward for either the G5, V11 or Note6 this year.

+Rahim Makrup in my opinion and the test I have done, the Note 5 has the best video recording. I wish the stabilization is as good as the Z5P tho. I was about to bring the LG G4 with me for my trip to Philippines but after seeing this, I wasn't pleased, so I decided to bring my Note 5 instead. the things that I hate using the Note 5 tho are it doesn't have a removable battery and expandable SD card so now I have to bring an external battery and external adaptor for the sd card. +L BS Great comparison! The only flaw in this is that if you are going to digitally zoom in the photos, you have to take photos so that the complete picture framing is the same. For example if you take a picture with a very sharp 12mm wide-angle lens and a bad 120mm telephoto lense, if you zoom to the same object, it would appear sharper with the telephoto, even if the wide angle lens was sharper.
In this video you had to digitally zoom the Z5 more in the crop comparisons and that's why it appeared less sharp than the G4. If you wanted to make an unbiased comparison, you would take the Z5 photo from closer to the subject than the G4, so the picture framing would be the same.
Btw, did you take the pictures with 23MP setting on the Sony? I have seen Z5 series take better photos with the oversampled 8MP setting.
I checked that LG G4 has a 24mm lens and Sony Z5 has a 28mm. I don't know if the crop factor from sensor size is accounted for in those numbers. G4 sensor size is 1/2,6" and Z5 is 1/2,3", which could also make the Z5 even more wide-angle.
The closer the subject is, the more this matters. For example the robot picture 8:15 is totally biased, the Z5 picture has twice as much area in the frame, so you had to zoom it twice as much.
But otherwise, your comparison video was very good, keep it up! You are definitely not the only one who makes this mistake. I have seen people think that wide angle lenses are soft all over TH-cam because of the biased comparisons and I really feel bad for Sony here.

+Andre Rivers Not so good ! Sony wins in almost every situation, especialy in SteadyShot Video Stabilization. LG G4 only wins when it comes to low light photo capture. Sony has that blueish color in dark areas...but still in everyday situation Sony wins by far !
Bican Marian Valeriu, my daily driver is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Nexus 6P. When I look at the Sony Xperia Z5 picture's, compared to the two phones I use on a daily basis, I can only shake my head in disappointment.
Andre Rivers it depends on your personal preference. I dont like Samsung oversaturated colors
Bican Marian Valeriu there's been numerous surveys that have shown that the majority prefers the picture's from the Samsung Galaxy series of phones over the past year. The camera sensor on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a Sony sensor at that.
sony xperia z5 absolutely the best of stabilization in video for android. but lg g4 the best for picture. my opinion.

SONY still has not updated the Z3V on Verizon to Lollipop. Maybe that's why Sony took off the Z4v from their website, Verizon probably told them if they can't update their phones they won't sell them to customers anymore.

+Houssem Wolf exactly it all depends on what the user sees or their taste is. to me. I prefer the z5p due to it has more natural look to it, the picture is much sharper, and the video stabilization is just out of this world. the g4 has an amazing front facing camera, excellent for low light shooting and the audio is fantastic in video. when it comes to gaming. the 810 on the z5p will definitely be much smoother experience than the g4 but you will feel the device heat up which can cause performance to drop down. where as the g4, the performance is still there when the device heats up. when it comes to screen display, I prefer the G4, its more vibrant and crips, whereas the z5p, it looks washed out even tho it supports 4K, the 4K only kicks in when you have a 4K content. so majority of time, the z5p is running in 1080p not as good as the G4. remember also, the G4 can be purchase at a very low price right now whereas the z5p is up in the value of the iPhone 6 plus. anyways hope these information will help you pick the device that you are looking for.

In auto mode the Z5p is set to 8mp. You need to put it in manual mode to unleash the full 23mp.
The video stabilisation on the Z5P is TRULY and I mean TRULY amazing. G4 is hella wobbly. I think I prefer the Z5P for both stills and video on this one. Sorry LG. only low light the G4 wins but day to day shows hardly a difference. Once again another awesome killer video dude.

I prefer prefer the z5p over the lg g4 anytime of the day. z5p: sharper picture, stabilization is amazing, doesn't have that brownish filter looking like the G4 which to me looks very bad, audio is not great, front facing I prefer the G4. G4; excellent in low light and audio is amazing. the funny thing is I bought so many removable battery for the G4 to take back home to Philippines for my trip and after looking at this comparison, I decided not to use the G4 anymore, just looks horrific. I will be bring the note 5 instead, however now I have to buy an external power adaptor and a usb sd adaptor. errrrrr

Keep in mind that Z5 has not only hardware stabilization like G4 but software which makes the quality of video a lil bit blurred sometimes and you see it when G4 is always with sharp quality of video and if you render your video from G4 on computer with software stablization in After Effect it will be the same so you lose quality for the stablization and it is not an advantage of Z5 to be more stablized from G4 :) In other hands G4 has manual options like ISO, Shutter Speed etc. which absolutely are advantages of G4 compared to Z5 so I suggest you if we judge the camera to take G4 which has much better one :) and it has RAW for images and it's just much better. Z5 is an automatic camera phone when G4 is made for photographer who is just without DSLR in the right moment and want to capture exactly the image the way he wants to be :) G4 > Z5

Cmon you know that smartphone camera never will be as good as DSLR is.. The matrix of DSLR is much bigger, the lens are much better and different but if you work in RAW with G4 it definitely gives a better quality after working on the file than one JPEG file from Sony/iPhone etc. In the end I really like it and all the manual functions as 50 ISO and up to 30 sec shutter speed which gives the user a chance to capture impossible to be captured moments with phones like iPhone 6S, Z5 etc which will make an noisy photos.

Sony hasn't changed, apart from the stabilizer. Other than that, its camera is about 2 years behind others.
Also its a pain having to record videos close up, everything seems zoomed in. The focal distance is just a disaster. Especially this is well seen in your comparison between g4 and z3+
I like the video better on the Sony but I like the audio and photo's WAY better on the G4.

Thanks so much for making this video! DANG the z5 looks like it's gliding no matter if you run or jump (thanks for doing that)..their steady shot is unbeatable! Probably the same tech they use in their action cams made for extreme sports videos! The lowlight response looks better too for the Sony. The audio on the z5 seems of lower volume, although it has less noise and more low end frequencies. Sony it is!

Xperia Z5 stabilization - awesome work ! LG G4 a bit better noise reduction process after cropping and brighter photos in auto mode (shows that more Mpx camera is not always better (16 vs 23)). Btw both phones have great cameras :)

+L BS yeah I know. do you think the 4k display is a cheesy unnecessary display? and do you think the 720p display on the compact a disappointment for a flagship. I mean the iPhone 6s has a 750p screen. not that much difference in both but both are great display with a greater 300 ppi screen. supposedly that ppi is the point om which the human being can not see from a distance the pixels that take up the screen.
Video recording and image stabilzation of Z5 is awesome while photos of G4 camera are outstanding . Both have different strong zones. Z5 stands out in Vid Recording while g4 in Photos taking.

im very glad i have the lg g4 swap it from my old note3 the g4 really does win on everything quality and sharpness, the sony z5 does really quite good for its OIS and color accuracy on the front cam but at low light the g4 really stands out because of its f 1.8 really glad the last year flagship phone still eats the latest phone now

Great video very informative and manage to cover a overall of the camera. seems like lg g4 and Sony have a great camera . Sony puts deep colors and has a great stability on video. Lg captures more details and sharpens it better. Both have decent audio.

LG for the win. Z5 not bad at all definitely wins the image stabilization and crop (due to mp).
Sony Xperia Z5 overcompensates in low-light situations, but still, Best camera for video, and the 23MP sensor gives us really good crops. LG g4 has the best front facing cam. The stabilization on The Z5 is The best i have seen on any phone, but I have a G4 and the stabilization is good too. Yet, i prefer The G4 as a daily use phone.
+Willian Rangel im a LG fan user when I moved to the android OS, liked it a lot reason why I left apple. I hate SONY devices, its overpriced for its performance you getting and the OS is just to clutter. after watching this video, I have decided that I am not going to bring the G4 to my vacation back to Philippines. the video on the G4 has that brownish/reddish filter look to it, looks so mucky like mud and in my opinion it doesn't look clean. whereas the Z5P, it looks so clean and the color is what the color is supposed to be. yes I agree with you low light, front facing camera, zooming and audio goes to the G4. but video clarity/quality and picture sharpness goes to the Z5P. Selfie cam: LG no question. Since I never use that (I'd rather turn it around and use good camera) that is irrelevant. Video in good light: Sony. The stabilization is amazing and also looked brighter and clearer. Video in low light: LG because Sony is washed out and blurry. Pictures are where I have unanswered questions. Why was Sony in 4:3 mode? What do pictures look like at full 23mp resolution (manual mode)?
+bradye21 plays Indie Horror sony only supports 4:3 when its set to 23mp. if the mp was 13 then it will set to 16:9. I don't shot manual mode on any of my smartphone devices. On smartphones I just want to take a picture as fast as possible and have it be clear. This phone is doing it so far for me. I am keeping it in auto 23MP. I have not inspected the photos closely, but they seem to be coming out really good. I assume for prints the top and bottom would get cropped off.

+Rares Negrean The Z5 premium only uses its 4k display when you're using your Gallery app. The rest is rendered in 1080p. The G4 is also capable of shooting 4k videos fyi. And it displays 2k all the time not just in the Gallery app. The Z5 is always on 1080p exept in the gallery app. So that makes the G4 more capable.

I love photographing,I like xperia Z5 camera than G4.For me, G4 is only better in lowlight detail,selfie and audio.Z5 is better in daylight pictures especially in cropped detail sharpness,wide lens is very great for landscape photos and group photos,colour output is better,video quality is better and stabilization is the best ever. I prefer Z5 than G4.
