Yes, I still practice all the time, Once your muscle memory develops it is a no thinker when you start with a blank paper, your hand just knows what to do!

The compound stroke seems to always be the challenging one in my workshops for students, but once I walk them through it they get it~ Step by step :-) I go through this on my online Beginners course too. Im glad you are having fun with this! Enjoying learning will always make the learning process much more fun :-)
Your brush may be a little worn out. That happens when the tip has worn out. So important to give your brush a lot of care and love . I have a tutorial on brush care. Ive had rushes for so many years even inexpensive brushes with the right care can keep that nice tip. No, I dont typically stretch my paper. I never have, tried it, but for the effort and time, I didnt see the value for me. I know others that do though. I think its just preference. My Artisto pads are what I use daily because I paint so much. If I am painting to sell, I use Arches and Winsor & Newton paints.

Why does my brush tip separate when I end my c stroke. I get a split point.
Your brush may be a little worn out. That happens when the tip has worn out. So important to give your brush a lot of care and love . I have a tutorial on brush care. Do you stretch the artisto pads w water?
No, I dont typically stretch my paper. I never have, tried it, but for the effort and time, I didnt see the value for me. I know others that do though. I think its just preference.
